Default Maps, maps, maps! [D&D, etc]

I was wondering- what kind of pre-made maps and tiles are available? Books, downloads, whatever- I'm trying to find stuff and not doing so well.

There are many officially-produced maps, but I find that the best maps are produced by the community. The Cartographer's Guild is a veritable goldmine for such things. Enjoy.

I have been collecting maps over the years of my favorite adventuring sites. I have maps that are 28 years old, from D&D campaigns from that long ago. I have three or four large tubes full of various maps, probably over several hundred maps in total.

    I really like maps. :)

No! My maps! My precious... You will not takes them! HISSSSSS!!!!!

When my wife and I were visiting Europe last summer, she found a little shop that sells REALLY old maps (circa 1400, non-laminated, just the paper and ink.) She bought me two.

They now have special places in my map collection. :)

RPGMapShare.com and the Dundjinni User Forums should keep you busy snagging maps for weeks.
MapForge is easy-to-use battlemap creation software for Windows and Mac OS X.

Get yourself a copy of the Official Military Atlas of the Civil War from Barnes and Noble(25$ a few years ago), I use the maps for my human areas. Some of them are awesomely detailed down to what exactly is planted in each field section. The city street grids are nice and smallish.

Looks like you'll have to get it used nowadays...

The Kyngdoms have quite a good map. It's free online, but I think you can buy a printed out version too.
