Samus has lost to Guyver Gigantic (though she won against Guyver's normal form since he can't protect the weakpoint on his forehead).

Silliest VS I've heard of... Sephiroth vs. Galactus. lol at fanboys insisting that absorbing part of the life energy of a planet meant Seph couldn't lose.

Doesn't that only give Galactus a reason to crush Sephiroth?

Exactly. Bond has the power to change sexual preference at will with his unmatched suavity. The female gender is helpless against him (and he's an amateur compared to Mr. Powers).

One which annoys me is Rorschach vs Batman. (Sorry if any of you disagree.)

An amateur boxer (albeit a vicious one) vs a man who has trained from the age of 11 in fighting? Whose trained in 127 martial art forms? Oh, and is extremely skilled with throwing knives?

Rorschach was never meant to be in the same league as the goddamn Batman. Rorschach was the equivalent of the Question, who was an investigator first and a fighter far, far down the list.

The point of the versus threads is to match similar things, not two things only tangentially related to each other.

Rorschach may be similer to the Joker in how, despite being physically inept in comparison, may have the cunning, and lack of standards needed to remain a competant enemy.

Or he just loses because, as the comic illustrates, he is just human.

Technically so is Batman. Then again, Rorschach could just get a gun and shoot him in the face(you know, the part of the Batsuit that isn't bulletproof). As far as I know, ole R has no complaints about using guns so it's not like it's impossible.

Either way, I got another one. Godzilla vs Astro Boy.

Even if Bond does win Samus over he better not leave her for another chick.

Do you even want to THINK about what she'd do to him with that arm cannon? Oh and if it's the SA-X we're talking about not even bond can win her over because the X are utterly devoid of any feeling. all they care about is destroying the universe. in fact the X would kill Bond and then it would be BOND-X

I'm scared just thinking about it.

but then of course Samus blasts it to the nine hells with that arm cannon.

the worst one I ever heard was Sonic vs. Ganondorf. the person's reasoning was "Ganon would just turn into a giant warthog and run Sonic over." sure it was a little kid but he didn't seem to get the concept of sonic.

And I don't bring up "The Federation vs. the Galactic Empire". Honestly I guess my real issue is with people who do that in the first place. A more fun one would be "Kirk or Picard's Enterprise vs. a random Star Destroyer", or even the Death Star if you add a fleet of redshirts on the Federation side, because then it becomes a matter of brains (and instant teleportation) vs. brawn.
I'm sorry, Federation starships cannot stand up to an Imperial warship of any variety. Their weapons, acceleration, and energy generation are all canonically demonstrated to be far below a Star Destroyer's, even if you don't like Wong's calculations (which, by the way, are sound; you can run the numbers yourself if you want; you may challenge his premises, but the method is solid). Neither Enterprise can take the sort of firepower they throw around, nor have much hope of significantly damaging their opponent; even if you don't accept multi-gigaton firepower figures based on calculations, greater firepower can be simply observed by comparing The Empire Strikes Back to TNG The Pegasus. A Star Destroyer has linear acceleration greater than the Millennium Falcon, Han's boasting to the contrary (no matter how many times he may brag about how fast his ship is, Star Destroyers are constantly overtaking him in straight-line chases) in comparison to the Federation and near neighbors' habit of sitting around still relative to each other at point-blank range to fire their weapons, and with hyperdrive can cross a galaxy in a matter of a couple of days, a feat which takes Federation warp drive nearly a century to accomplish (in a galaxy approximately 25,000 light years less in diameter than the GFFA, to boot). Attempting to compare the two in a military arena is an exercise in futility.

I was looking through this thread, trying to remember a Vs. matchup that made me angry, and then ARGHGFJLKL THIS RIGHT HERE. He's invincible, he has a gun that automatically kills anything it hits and never misses, he's super strong so you can't trap him under a mountain or anything like that, and since he has no personality or motivation beyond "I really, really, hate things," you can't mess with his mind to stop him. So damn overpowered.

Except then someone was arguing that Voldemort could beat him. So it was character I hate who always wins vs. character I can tolerate who is vastly overmatched. Argh.

Lich King vs. Sauron... Ironically, the most stupid argument in that, imo, was between Sargeras and the Witch King.

Witch King can resist Sargeras' world killing sword because his protection does not work on a basis of power, only vulnerability... Meaning that Sargeras needed Merry's sword or something to get the job done...

This was all in that "Sauron phase" mentioned earlier in the thread... The guys on his side were about as movable as a 1000 ton boulder...

Ok, I know I'm a little late on this one, but here's a nice little tidbit, there was actually a manga/graphic novel made that pit goku vs (post-crisis) Supes. To sum up how it wen't, goku won without going past SS 1.

Also, if this has already been said, I'm sorry, didn't bother reading through the whole thread.

Basically, Superman's power level jumps around a lot. So does Goku's. Supes vs. Goku boils down to "at what point in each's career of ridiculousness are we talking?"

The entire premise is pointless, but it doesn't stop people from trying.

See also: "it was done in a crossover once, and this settles the argument completely."

And: "not reading the thread (or apparently the title) and assuming it to be an actual vs. thread."
