im looking for the blackguard as a base class any help? I know ive seen it somewhere

The blackguard is a prestige class in the Dungeon Master's Guide.

You may want to take a look at Paladin of Slaughter or Tyranny.

Edit: If you want a base class, that is. Blackguard is also a PrC.

nah outside the tyranny and slaughter, i have seen it as a base class somewhere.

I've never seen Blackgaurd built as a base class, however if you wanted you could just replace the BG's spell progression with the Paladin's (BG's spell progression is really just an accelerated version anway) and then proceed to advance the class abilities beyond level ten (+1d6 sneak attack/3 levels, +1 smite good/ 4 levels)

Have you seen it as a base class before, or as a character with only blackguard levels before? If the latter, it is possible that the character in question was an 11th-level or higher paladin and traded in all available paladin levels for blackguard levels, leaving him a blackguard with one level of paladin.

A fallen paladin of this stature immediately gains a blackguard level for each level of paladin he trades in.

The character level of the character does not change. With the loss of paladin levels, the character no longer gains as many extra abilities for being a fallen paladin.
