Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
Is there full list of nominees? I'm curious as to what 4e beat out.
(Also, just which "Monster or Adversary" won the 4e MM award.)

Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
Hardly surprising, considering EnWorld is one of the foremost 4E news and discussion sites, other than Gleemax. It's all a matter of audience

- Chameleon Base Class [3.5]/[PF]: A versatile, morphic class that mimics one basic party role (warrior, caster, sneak, etc) at a time. If you find yourself getting bored of any class you play too long, the Chameleon is for you!
- Warlock Power Sources [3.5]: Making Hellfire Warlock part of the base class and providing other similar options for Warlocks whose powers don't come from devils.

Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
I agree with the Best Aid one, probably. I don't know about the others often because I've not fully experienced all the systems on offer - though looking through all the entrants there seems to be quite a few limitations of choice in just the finalists. I was pleased DH got the Best Interior Art and less pleased that it was silver in Best Monster or Adversary.

It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.

Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
Or that WotC is still suspected as being a financial backer of ENWorld.
The ENnies have had some problems in the past with some bribed judges or somesuch, and several people leaving/quitting/being fired from working with them for certain reasons.
It isn't like they are real awards anyway, so as you say; a large WotC audience as the panel isn't surprising to vote for WotC products.
I just say to anyone, try before you buy and see if anything given some award (other than safety awards like on cars or things of life and death potential) is actually worth it for you.

Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
King of the Trollhaunt Warrens deserved the award. There have been very few Wizards modules I've liked (Sunless Citadel being one and a few great freelance modules that appeared in Dungeon magazine) but Trollhaunt evokes the action of older Gygax-esque modules with epic set pieces.
As far as product of the year, I would have given it to Mouse Guard. As a consumer, I rate my products in completeness. Mouse Guard is a complete system within a single book and the creation rules allow for a large number of scenarios within the universe itself. It's relatively rules light so you can customize it to your liking without conflicting with the current rules setup.
I wish the new Changeling books came out last year. I've got my fingers crossed they'll win best cover art next year. If they don't, the judges are plebes.

Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
I like how GURPS or 3e DnD isn't in anywhere that I saw (glanced through 4 catagories).
Most of the things that 4e beat out are fairly obscure and/or I've never heard of them, so them winning means little. My Work:

Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
Why would 3e still be in there at all? I mean, Gurps and you might have a point (not that I recal any gurps in the Origin Awards, but still), but it's not like anyones still releasing anything noteworthy for 3rd edition outside of '3.75' and Pathfinder. >_> What book were you expecting to see in there?

Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
Er... it was. Several times. "Scum & Villainy," the Clone Wars setting book, a set of Clone Wars minis, and the Order 66 podcast were ALL nominated, and the Clone Wars setting book was even nominated for Product of the Year. Heck, S&V won the Silver for Best Cartography, the CW setting won Silver for Best Supplement, and Order 66 won Silver for Best Podcast.

Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
Because despite SW Saga Edition being a superb hunk of meaty goodness, you can never have any thing nice. Because WotC is run by business-men.
This, I must mention, is a groundless accusation that I stand by.Last edited by Doc Roc; 2009-08-18 at 09:46 PM.

Re: 4e Wins Many ENnie Awards
Probably because it is a couple of years old and thus not eligible, Akisa. Or because they don't like it for whatever reason.
And i have to say that you are right jmbrown. Those covers are just magnificent, but of course Changeling: The Lost is most beautiful system ever so it makes sense it would get beautiful covers.
