Re: Iron Avatarist: E, I, E, I, O
I'm not trying to nag or anything, but how long does it usually take for a contest to be judged after the entries are closed? It's been nearly 3 weeks since the 'Future Psychics' contest finished and no word has been given since.

Re: Iron Avatarist: E, I, E, I, O
Generally, results are posted around the time the next contest closes. Then the next contest starts at around the same time, so we'll usually have one open contest and one contest being judged at any one time.
Sometimes the results are posted sooner, but it can take far longer it some cases.

Re: Iron Avatarist: E, I, E, I, O
I'm working on my very first iron avatarist entry. Is it permissible to use modified public domain clip art for a prop, or should it be 100% original?

Re: Iron Avatarist: E, I, E, I, O
Well, I'm no authority on the matter, but I think direct image copy wouldn't work (even as a prop), but traced images would be fine. You'd have to ask a judge, though...

Re: Iron Avatarist: E, I, E, I, O
Yes, but it in context, it seems to be referring to using the Giant's art, not public domain work.
I ended up making my own stalks of wheat anyway, but I'd still like an official answer for future reference. My avatar! Isn't it just utterly diabolical? Ashen Lilies made it!

Re: Iron Avatarist: E, I, E, I, O
Copy-pasting a sample "wheat stalk" into your image would be a no-go. Using a sample "wheat stalk" to design your own should be fine. Showing us just what you mean would probably help, though...

Re: Iron Avatarist: E, I, E, I, O
So if I rip off work done by the judges, I'm sure to win! ^^
After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
...But I'd rather stick with what I've submitted, so I'll leave it for someone else to do that.

Btw, if any of you are good at doing non-humanoids in OotS form and would be willing to do me a favor please send me a message.

Re: Iron Avatarist: E, I, E, I, O
You don't need to raise your hand, Serp, we know you can do anything.
I, however, suck at non-humanoids... I think. I've only really done a few... none recently, after my awesomeness lessons from Tiff.

Re: Iron Avatarist: E, I, E, I, O
I was like 3/4 of the way done with a rural scene of three guys on a porch, talking about the weather. It went something like this:
1st guy: "My knee's swellin up. Blizzard's comin ta town."
2nd guy: ""Naw, my pinky here just cracked. I'ma sayin sandstorm."
3rd guy: "Ah! My duodenum! That means..."
Looks at list.
"Meatballs?"
Then my computer died, and I forgot to save.
Blech.
I am not going to restart this.

I could probably make a graph showing the increase in crashes as awesomeness and irreplaceability of project grows...
