Factotum... better Soulknife than the Soulknife?
Is a level 19 Factotum a better Soulknife than the level 19 Soulknife?
In other words, with Cunning Brilliance, the Factotum takes Mind Blade and Wild Talent from the Soulknife (and whatever else you would like for argument purposes, or you can even have him take Wild Talent as a feat if you would like so that he can borrow two class abilities).
Also, for the purpose of argument, take it for granted that the Factotum keeps his mind blade after his minute of glory is up--he simply can't form another one if he lets go of the blade or has it sundered.

Assuming you're defining soulknife as someone who wields the mindblade, then no. If you're trying to define as some sort of other combat character ... then probably, since most everything is better than a soul knife.

Psychic Warriors do what Soulknives do and with... it was either a feat or an ACF. Either way, PsyWars do what Soulknives do with a single feat/ACF and do it so much better than Soulknives it's sad.

Re: Factotum... better Soulknife than the Soulknife?
Int to Damage, Int to Hit, Extra Standard Action, Automatic DR Penetration, Ability to copy any other class features, Int to AC, Int to skills, all the relevant mobility skills available, Sneak Attack, some supporting spellcasting...yeah, Factotum is a better Soulknife.
Though that mostly tells of the fact that Soulknife doesn't actually get relevant class features, which is one of the principal problems with the class in the first place. Basically the only thing Factotum misses out on is Multiple throw and given that Factotum can just take an extra standard action to move up close, that's not that big a problem.Campaign Journal: Uncovering the Lost World - A Player's Diary in Low-Magic D&D (Latest Update: 8.3.2014)

Bad news all, but Cunning Brilliance only allows you to replicate extraordinary (Ex) abilities and Mind Blade is supernatural (Su)
"At the start of each day choose three extraordinary class abilities."
So I'd say no, what with the whole "not being able to do it at all" thing.Last edited by raitalin; 2009-09-04 at 04:09 AM.
