[BleachITP]Episode 29: Watch Out Shibuya!!!

[Innis Cabal]

Ran gets off the train from J-City, the sounds and sights of Tokyo having whizzed by. He remained silent in the train, no doubt embarassed by Yumi.

Tsuo stands silently, not sitting. He sighs.

Yumi hums to herself as she sits and kicks her long legs out. She's wearing a pink t-shirt with abstract artwork, and denim capris on.

Akiko

From one end of the traincar, having come from cars behind, a delicate, female figure emerged. She wore her staple white hoodie, but this one apparently a different one than the one she had worn on nights before, as this one zipped down in the middle. It was currently unzipped to show off the black t-shirt that she wore underneath, and was complemented by a tight pair of dark-blue jeans, lined periodically with silver chains around the waist. Her strikingly blonde hair was tucked under the rim of the same puffy, dark pink Newsboy cap that she had been wearing the first time the group had met her. When she spotted the others, she waved cheerfully before making her way over to them. "Whew! There you guys are! I was starting to worry I'd gotten on the wrong train..." She said once she'd come close enough.

A look of relief crossed over Ran's face just for a brief moment. He muttered something under his breath before waving back

"Hey there...Akiko-chan. Thanks for comming with us. Its a big place so..if you get lost text someone...well meet at the statue of Hachikō..."

Ran points to a large bronze statue of a dog out at the entrance of the Shibyua Railway Station. Even he couldn't help but smile at the thing. The story of its loyalty...one he always believed in and was inspired by.

"Anywhere you all want to go looking at first?"

Ran cast a quick glance to Yumi and Akiko, he was pretty sure Tsuo knew the drill.

"Ohmigawd, yay! That's everyone!" Yumi gives Akiko one of her signature hugs. After a few seconds she lets go. "Where do you want to go first, Akiko?" She really seems excited. If it wasn't readily apparent.

Tsuo smiles, looking at the statue. He's savoring the last moment of sanity he has for the rest of the day.

Akiko

Akiko smiled and hugged back a little, then bowed quickly to Ran and Tsuo. Yumi's exuberance was catching, as always, and she smiled energetically at Yumi's question. "Actually... there's an electronics store that I want to stop by. I have been looking a couple different places for... a while now, trying to find somewhere that actually sells... Well... Um-- I, uh, heard from a friend that they might have them, so I wanted to check it out." She says a little awkwardly. Well, it was still less awkward than trying to explain that her computer was in sore need of an upgrade, but it was practically impossible to find parts that would fit the specifications of her well-past-extinct model at all, much less ones that had been made with anything even approaching modern speeds. But she had heard about one shop in Shibuya that hacked modern processors and cards together with the ancient interfaces that her smoking heap might actually accept. "Were you guys after anything specific, or just browsing?" She tucked a few loose strands behind an ear and smiled.

"I'm here for you guys...i'll go where ever. I'm ready to see the sights again...so drag me where ever."

Ran tries to give a broad smile, but in truth, he really wasn't much of a shopper, he really was just here to pay for what ever Yumi decided she wanted.

Tsuo nods, agreeing with Ran. Besides, Tsuo already has his hat. What else could he possibly need?

Yumi smiles widely. "That sounds fine... lead the way!"

[Innis Cabal]

Ran bursts out laughing, pulling out a map and pointing to it.

"This the store?"

He dosn't wait for a response, he's sure that even if it isn't, getting moving won't be to much of a problem. He turns on his heel, throwing a smile over his shoulder to the trio

"Well. Its the journey, at any rate."

With that, he sets off to the store.

Akiko

Akiko rushed for a few steps to catch up with Ran's side, looking over his shoulder at the map and matching his pace. "Well actually, it's a funny thing, uh... I don't really know exactly where it is, and I'm not really sure where to start looking. You'd think an electronics store would keep an up-to-date website, but... All I could find was a thumbnail map with a red star on it, but there wasn't much to compare it to, and I'm not sure if I remember there being a note that says they've moved since that map was put up, so..." Here's where she noticed that she was rambling, and clammed up quickly as though to stop the hemorrhaging. "...Um, yeah. As good a place to start as any!"

Ran smirks, this time a little more honestly

"Well...there are plenty of electronics stores all over the place. Its just this specific one your looking for?"

Yumi skips along, commenting to herself on everything in the store windows.

"Ooh... I bet I'd look good in that."

"Ohmigawd! So cute!"

"Wow! I really need to get one of those! And one of those!..."

For the sake of everyone's sanity, I won't include every comment.

Ran pulls out a large candy bar from his back pack, handing it to Yumi. His eye oddly twitching for the rest of the long walk into the small secluded section of Shibuya the map indicated.

"Looks like we're here."

The store is slightly run down, but not really as bad as the closed shops and cluttered ally ways that seem to dominate this small corner of the 23rd Ward of Tokyo. He walks briskly to the door, opening it for the rest

"After all of you."

"!!!" Yumi takes the bar, and is otherwise occupied by that for a while. Upon reaching the store she walks in quietly chewing on the remainder of the bar.

Akiko

Akiko smiled up at the shop, and walked inside.

She approached the store attendant, a somewhat scruffy 30-something with a vaguely 'computer savvy' atmosphere about him. ...Or in other words, he looked a bit of a Nerd. "Umm... Hello... I'm looking for... repurposed cards and processors that will fit a 2159-series IBM Aptiva? Among other things I'd like a processor that will run over 1.5 Ghz, and a serious memory upgrade..."

Ran's mouth hung open only slightly as Akiko and the store clerk went back and forth. The thing....was more then a relic. It was the holy grail of computers, and not in a good way.

"May...Maybe you should get buy a new computer....Akiko-chan..."

Ran had to wonder just how the hell she did anything on that computer, at all.

Akiko

The attendant went to look in the back of the store, and Akiko turned a little red at Ran's surprise. "Well... I would like to have a new computer, but... I don't know if I could afford it. ....Well, I mean I'm pretty sure I couldn't. Besides, the one I'm running now isn't exactly 'standard'... This won't be the first time I've upgraded it. In fact, when I first got it my younger brother and I rebuilt it almost from the ground up. It used to be a beast... But you know how that goes." She laughed good-naturedly. "Anyway, even if I could somehow manage a newer computer, there's still the sentimental value to the one I have. I've had it for.... Well, almost ten years now, I guess..."

Ran shakes his head, smirking. He really couldn't say much. He'd rigged more then his fair share of things while working with Hitomi's "Family"...

"I guess i'm a but spoiled...the computer I run is a bit high tech..."

Yumi pokes around at the shelves of various old-school technology with interest.

I used the same thing when I was her age, and it worked fine for me. Tsuo says, smiling. He likes this store.

Akiko

Akiko remembers Ran's mention of said computer in their previous conversation. "Yeah, you mentioned something about that... It sounds ridiculously cool..." She says distantly, daydreaming for a moment.

A moment later, she disappeared into a random corner of the shop, just shopping around. "Hey, check it out! It's a radio that's supposed to be able to listen to JAXA transmissions! I wonder if it works..."

((JAXA being the Japanese space program, like their version of NASA ))

"Turn it on and see? I'm sure he won't mind. Besides..."

Ran looks around the store quickly, grinning and striding over next to Akiko, looking at the radio

"He's in the back, how will he know?"

He reachs for a knob or what ever is marked "On" and unless otherwise stopped, flicks it on.

"Yeah, Ran's computer is awesome." Yumi hums to herself as she pokes around the shelves more.

[OverWilliam]

The little radio crackles.

"Hello, RALF. Do you read me, RALF?"

"Affirmative, Dan. I read you."

"Open the pod bay doors, RALF."

"...I'm sorry, Dan. I'm afraid I can't do that."


Akiko

Akiko blinked. "That... Couldn't be... Real...?" She glanced at Ran.

Ran blinks, flicking the thing off

"No...probably not. Seems more like a joke. Probably rigged to do things like that."

He tries to give his best smile as he turns, looking over the store

"Nice little store though...wouldn't you say?"

Ran omitted he probably used to steal stuff from places like this when he was a kid.

Akiko

Akiko moved on, giggling a little when she discovered one of those funny electric-zapping orb thingie that reacted when she touched it. She discovered a remote-control hovercraft and enjoyed steering it around through people's legs and whatnot. Also, very interesting was an electronic double-paned sheet of glass and accompanying pen. When she wrote on the glass, it glowed green in mid air from inside the glass. With a smile, she quickly scribbled out a small, Chibi-ized version of herself, complete with little glasses and hat only with a pair of cat-ears poking up out of her signature newsboy cap, sticking out her tongue and holding up two fingers in a peace sign.

Yumi watches in amazement. "That is so cool! And cute!"
