Unfortunately, BG is currently down for some unknown reason (likely Josh's fault, or a hacker, or they are finally deleting the BLYHT forum). The best (IE: most current) Ranger handbook is on BG. Trust me, do not search Gleemax for it.

• Wildshape Ranger 5/MoMF 10
• Scout X/Archery Ranger 20-X with Swift Hunter
• Scout X/TWF Ranger 20-X with Swift Hunter and some means of getting free movement
• Archery Ranger 20
• TWF Ranger 20

i have a good archer build...but it seems the game that is starting tomorrow already has a few spell casters for range....

In seriousness, 3.5 does seem to be taken as the default game here, but there's some 4e players too, someone should be able to help you, just might take a bit longer.
