Test of Spite Exhibition: Claudius Maximus Vs. Gaurd Juris
Buff rounds? I suggest 3 and all day buffs.
For the map, may I suggest something new? I've been watching Arena matches, and they have some maps, like this:

And this:

Would you like to use any of them? If you'd prefer a more standard map, just post it.Last edited by Claudius Maximus; 2009-09-13 at 02:50 PM.

And how does 4 buff rounds sound to you?

Four is good, but are all days in?
The map doesn't say how high they go... How about 20 ft, like an Obscuring Mist spell? I wouldn't be averse to them being very tall, though, to prevent flying over them.Editor and playtester for Legend.

Re: Test of Spite Exhibition: Claudius Maximus Vs. Gaurd Juris
Move to K7, then come to a rest 200 feet above the arena floor.
You see a fair-haired man dressed from head to tow in scarlet burst through the cloud wall, astride a massive, white stag. The red rider spirals higher and higher in the air, then turns to face you. In his right hand, he holds a lance of crackling thunder.

True seeing has a range of 120 feet, so I'm not in its range.
You can make a spot check to see me. I forgot to roll hide, but the DC is at least 51. If you have any shot at making that, I'll roll it.

I'm in range as I pass by you, within 30 feet, actually. Does that change anything?
I may decide against climbing like that if I can't see you at all.

Re: Test of Spite Exhibition: Claudius Maximus Vs. Gaurd Juris
The Stag is the product of a Phantom Stag spell.
Unfortunately for me, I can't hit the caster level check, so instead of climbing 200 feet, I'll climb 30 feet then activate a psionic tattoo of touch sight.
That should do the trick.Click the spoiler to see all the great games I design:

Your touchsight reveals a female-looking humanoid form with long hair. She has a buckler on her left arm and both a shovel and a scythe on her back. In her left hand she holds a gnarled staff. Since you can not see her, you can tell she is invisible, but corporeal.

It seems Tidesinger has previously ruled that Spell turning fully reverses Spell theft. Do you want to rewind a bit and apply that, or continue as if it did not reflect like that?

Well, since we're going back, I have not yet at this point used my swift action.
I use my Ring of Spell-battle to retarget the spell. It is now targeting your Phantom Stag. I can't dispel the Stag, but if it happens to have any buffs I'll be happy to try for them.

Re: Test of Spite Exhibition: Claudius Maximus Vs. Gaurd Juris
They vary, and that's not something you can tell normally.
With those checks, you steal Superior Resistance, Tyche's Touch, and the Bead of Karma. However, might I ask how you have +15 to your dispel checks? Do you have a CL 15th scroll? If it's really CL 9th, you do not succeed on any of your checks.
Edit: Actually I doubt that you can even affect the Bead of Karma. It's not a spell or spell effect.Last edited by Claudius Maximus; 2009-09-13 at 08:06 PM.

Did... did I just fall for the "behind you!" trick?
I can't beat those DCs (and I don't feel like spending an immediate action on divine insight), so I just went down the path of failures.
