Default Shapeshifter

Shapeshifter
Requirements: Shapechanger subtype or one of the following abilities: Change Shape, Alternate Form, Polymorph; base attack bonus +4.
Hit Dice: d8.
Proficiencies: Shapeshifters are proficient with all natural weapons in any form.
Class Skills: Balance, Bluff, Climb, Disguise, Handle Animal, Hide, Jump, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (local), Knowledge (nature), Listen, Spot, Survival, Swim, Tumble.
Skill Points: 4 + Int.
{table="head"]Level| BAB| Fort| Ref| Will| Special
1st| +0| +2| +2| +0| Alternate form 1/day, disguise self at will
2nd| +1| +3| +3| +0| Huge and tiny shape
3rd| +2| +3| +3| +1| Alternate form 2/day, tweak form (1)
4th| +3| +4| +4| +1| Extraordinary qualities, alter self at will
5th| +3| +4| +4| +1| Alternate form 3/day
6th| +4| +5| +5| +2| Gargantuan and diminutive shape, tweak form (2)
7th| +5| +5| +5| +2| Alternate form 4/day, object form
8th| +6| +6| +6| +2| Morphic enhancement
9th| +6| +6| +6| +3| Alternate form 5/day, tweak form (3)
10th| +7| +7| +7| +3| Supernatural abilities, colossal and fine shape, multimorph
Alternate Form (Su): The shapeshifter can alter their form as if by the polymorph spell except that the character's effective caster level is equal to twice his shapeshifter level. The shapeshifter can only transform into forms between the sizes of Large and Small and cannot acquire templates with this transformation. At 2nd level the shapeshifter can take on forms as large as Huge or as small as Tiny. At 4th level the shapeshifter can acquire the extraordinary special qualities of any creature he or she transforms into. At 6th level the shapeshifter can take on forms as large as Gargantuan or as small as Diminutive. At 10th level the shapeshifter can take on forms as large as Colossal or as small as Fine and can acquire the supernatural special qualities and special attacks of any creature he or she transforms into; however they can only take on one supernatural quality or special attack at a time and may switch which supernatural ability they have as a free action any time during this ability's duration. Also, at 10th level a shapeshifter can alter their form at will as a standard action any time during the duration of one of their uses of Alternate Form without spending additional uses of this ability per day.
Disguise Self (Su): At will a shapeshifter can slightly vary their form as if by the disguise self spell. This improves at 4th level to emulate the alternate form spell.
Tweak Form: At 3rd level a shapeshifter can have one extraordinary quality or natural attack from one form even when they shapeshift into another form. At 6th and 9th level the shapeshifter gains one additional thing they can tweak about any form they take. The shapeshifter cannot stack similar abilities with this although they may gain multiple variations.
Object Form: At 7th level a shapeshifter can emulate the gaseous form spell instead of the polymorph spell with their Alternate Form ability. Also, they can transform into animated objects (as if by the animate object spell) and constructs.
Morphic Enhancement (Ex): At 8th level a shapeshifter deals improved damage with all natural weapons in any form as if he or she had the Improved Natural Attack feat. The shapeshifter also gains Regeneration 1. Acid, fire, cold, electricity, sonic, and damage caused by spells and spell-like abilities deal normal damage to a shapeshifter.

Extraordinary Shapeshifting [general]
Prerequisite: Supernatural ability to shapeshift.
Benefit: You can use your shapeshifting ability as an extraordinary ability instead of a supernatural ability. However, doing this makes your transformation slower both to and fro and still uses up your daily uses (if any). While transforming, you must maintain Concentration or your transformation will be stopped and you must start over. While shapeshifting over multiple rounds, a character can still take one move action per round.
{table="head"]Old Transformation Time | New Transformation Time
1 swift/free/immediate action | standard action
1 move action | full-round action
1 standard action | 2 rounds
Full-round action | 5 rounds
2 rounds | 1 minute
3-5 rounds | 10 minutes
Everything is perspective. You can't excuse or ignore anything because of that.

This is for what version of DnD, 3.5?? 4.0??
Please check out my homebrew and P.E.A.C.H..

All of my work is for Pathfinder, but can be used for 3.5 as they are compatible enough.

Under alternate form, you say they switch what ability they have as a free action. This means they can use the ability they want and then switch it as many times as they want per round. Make it a swift action, or limit it once/ round.

I don't grasp the benefit on the concept of Extraordinary Shapeshifting.

Also----
My bad, I mixed Supernatural up with Extraordinary.

Okay, so. the only benefit from Extraordinary Shapeshifting is that you wouldn't be fuzzled in an anti-magic field? Well, I suppose that's pretty big, so yeah, seems good. Though it does seem to take a bit to transform >.>

I'd seriously alter that table.

from 1-2 rounds it jumps to 1 minute.
For 3 rounds, it LEAPS to 10 minutes.
It just seems too dire a change in the shifting time. To me at least.
