[3.5] Oh gods.... Epic level mage build help!

One of my mates wants to run an Epic level campaign soon, and we're using existing characters from another RP game. That means I'm gonna be playing as this guy. However, the game is set 15 years in the future, so everyone has gotten a huuuuge boost in power. I'm thinking that the guy has gotten greater control and speed when it comes to his powers, and that his superpowered evil side is now under control (His superpowered evil side came later on, so it's not in that brief description there. Imagine something like Ichigo with his hollow mask on, but covered in blood.)
I've got 40 levels to play with here, or 35 gestalt levels.

The only way I can think of statting this guy up is as a Changeling Wizard with levels in Master Transmogrifist and Swiftblade. I know, I know. 8 lost caster levels will hurt. But no one in this group has ever heard of optimisation, and I'm the closest thing to a munchkin in the group, so I think it should be okay. Please, help with this! I have no idea how to turn Ace up there into a D&D character, I've never statted something up at Epic levels and I really don't know where to start.

tl;dr: Turning this into a 40th level character. Obviously there's a power boost involved. Some kind of transmuter? HELP!

Actually, a psion egoist would be pretty spot-on for perfect body-taming.
You don't necessarily have to be a changeling though, you can gain the shapeshifting with an alternate class feature found here.

You need to find out how your DM runs epic spells.

There's a lot of wiggle room in the system, and it's meant to be negotiated between the player and the DM on a case-by-case basis, and depending on how your DM runs it, most to all of your power may come from it, or it might not be very much at all.

If you wanted to get really fun, you could take the gestalt route and make a Wizard/Swiftblade/Master Transmogrifist//Factotum, take every non-epic feat as Font of Inspiration, and just turn into a hydra all the time.

It doesn't matter how your DM handles epic spells if your gameplan is just "three full-attack actions every round".

The game engine gets damn creaky about level 13, by 17 it's falling apart and level 21 blows it all to hell, what're your DMs houserules for making Epic playable? If we know them we can advise on what to build towards but at level 40 full caster you are more powerful than anything short of an overdeity.
