Skill based spell research
I'm trying to figure out how improve the 'spell' research of naruto d20, but it is also a nice exercise:
If you need to make an spellcraft check in order to resarch the spell, what is the apropriate DC for a typical wizard with the bare minium required relevant stat to cast it?
My guess was 10+spellcraft rank+min. stat mod+sinergy. So a level 7 spell have a learn DC of (16+3) = DC 29. Assume, for whatever reasons, you can't have more than +7 bonuses from external sources (spells, munden/magical item).
There is a better way to calculate the DC?
For the sake of the discussion, try work with the premisse "skill based spell research".

Re: Skill based spell research
I'm confused...for every bonus to the skill, you increase the DC?
So, you could just have him roll a d20 and have a success on 11+? Or, for the same odds, flip a coin?
