Dark Spells [3.5e]
Is there a place I could find a list of spells that have a theme of darkness? I'm thinking of making a class with spells that are all basically darkness-based. If there isn't such a place, could you provide some yourselves?

Darkness domain, page 20 http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules...calDomains.pdf
Actually you should really bookmark all of crystalkeep. It can be a lot more effective than searching through 200 different dragon magazines.

Re: Dark Spells [3.5e]
I have it bookmarked. It's just so much to sort through if I'm trying to find just darkness spells, that I think it would be far more convenient to ask the playgrounders for spells related to darkness. I'm sure I'll come across some when I'm flipping through some books, but certainly not all of them.
EDIT: Oh, and thank you.Last edited by Temotei; 2009-12-08 at 09:52 PM.

Re: Dark Spells [3.5e]
The Shadowcaster from ToM is fun to play but tough to build with. Here is a page of fixes to the Shadowcaster and decent homebrew material. Descent of Shadows: Project Shadow Returns
For "darkness" style templates look into the Dark Creature (ToM), Shadowwalker (UE), Shade (FRCS) and Shadow Creature (LoM).Last edited by gorfnab; 2009-12-08 at 10:12 PM.

Re: Dark Spells [3.5e]
Yeah no prob, also the drow domain 1st level looks pretty thematic as well.

The non-common sources:
CR - Champions of Ruin
Lords - Lords of Madness (there's another Lords book)
MoE - Magic of Eberron
RoF - Races of Faerun
HoB - Heroes of Battle
And yeah, check the whole shadowcaster section. Maybe Lords of Darkness has some stuff, I dunno.

Re: Dark Spells [3.5e]
This site is pretty difficult to sort through, it seems, but very helpful. Thank you.

Re: Dark Spells [3.5e]
The Umbral Spell metamagic from from Drow of the Underdark lets you add the darkness descriptor to any spell you cast and it only modifies the level by +1.

Re: Dark Spells [3.5e]
Noctumancer combines arcane spells with shadowcasting mysteries. Child of Night can combine just about any caster with shadowcasting.

Re: Dark Spells [3.5e]
The Book of Roguish Luck has a shadowsworn base class, which is a.. shadow themed class.. A partial rogue partial spellcaster (casts pretty much like a sorcerer from its own limited spell list)
A wise monk trains both mind and body, but a smart monk is actually a swordsage.
