Either I have watched too many Westerns, or my cowboy hat is too tight.

I had the idea of a "Man with No Name" type character who outdraws a blast-type weapon without pistols.

I thought a wizard could be awesome, using custom everwands with fingerguards.

any other ideas?

Just play Deadlands! It's exactly what you're looking for with the added addition of zeds, steampunk, and crazy. Well, for some people, anyhow.

Of course, the wizard with Time Stop/multiple Delayed Fireball Blast still wins, because it's a wizard.

If you're not averse to homebrew, a Spellshot Pistol and the Black Rain Discipline would be perfect.

Otherwise, either an Artificer or an Arcane Trickster could work. The feat Double Wand Wielder (Complete Arcane) is pretty much obligatory.
