[3e] 0th Level Variant
I have at some point read an official 3rd edition variant that had players start out as level 0 multiclassed characters, so that they could be multiclassed at 1st level. However, in all my searches, I can't find the source of the variant! I thought it was in the DMG, but it's not.
It might be in the DMG from 3.0, if that's the case, would anyone mind looking and telling me if that's the case? If it's not, does anyone know about the damned variant and where I can find it?

Re: [3e] 0th Level Variant
It is indeed in the 3.0 DMG.
You can call me Draz.
Trophies:
Spoiler
Also of note:
- Winning Entry of Gestalt Build Challenge IV
- 3rd Place in Iron Chef XI (Blade Bravo)
- Judge of Iron Chef XXIII (Divine Champion)
I have a number of ongoing projects that I manically jump between to spend my free time ... so don't be surprised when I post a lot about something for a few days, then burn out and abandon it.
... yes, I need to be tested for ADHD.

Re: [3e] 0th Level Variant
Well, I happen to have my 3.0 DMG on hand (technically my library's, but whatever), so here you go. If this is too much text for "fair use," mods, let me know and I'll take it down.
I don't want to type the whole thing up word-for-word, so here are the highlights:
At 1st level, the character chooses 2 classes, one primary and one secondary. He gets:- proficiencies from both classes
- HD, skills, and starting gear of the primary class at 1st level
- spells known as a 1st-level member of his spellcasting class(es)
- bonus spells per day for ability scores, specialization, etc. as normal
- HD, skills, and starting gear of the secondary class when he hits 2nd level
The 0th-level benefits for the classes are as follows:
{table=head]Class|BAB|Fort|Ref|Will|Special|0th|1st
Fighter|+0|+1|+0|+0|Bonus Feat|—|—|
Barbarian|+0|+1|+0|+0|Rage, Fast Movement|—|—|
Paladin|+0|+1|+0|+0|Detect Evil, Lay On Hands|—|—|
Ranger|+0|+1|+0|+0|Favored Enemy|—|—|
Wizard|+0|+0|+0|+1|—|2|0|
Sorcerer|+0|+0|+0|+1|—|4|2|
Cleric|+0|+1|+0|+1|Turn Undead (treat as 0th level)|2|1domain spell|
Druid|+0|+1|+0|+1|—|2|1|
Rogue|+0|+0|+1|+0|—|—|—|
