    Default Lesser Stone Golem

The SRD Stone Golem is slightly too powerfull for the challenge i intended. I want to make it a CR 9.

I have given it 12HD and a bonus HP of 20, which means it goes from 107 hp to 86 hp, it will stay large.

    I reduced it's natural armor by 2.
    I reduced it's DR from 10/adamantine to 8/adamantine.

Because of the lost HD i reduced it's BAB by 1, it also loses 3 STR.

    It's attacks therefore go from +18 (2d10+9) to +16 (2d10+8).

It also loses it's "Slow" ability.

Does this justify going from CR11 to CR9?

<edit> also, does the fact that we have no real casters (3 melee, 1 archer, 1 rogue, 1 bard) make this encounter easier?

Harder. Casters may have issues damaging a golem (without SR: No spells, at least), but they have little trouble distracting or CCing it.

    An illusionary wall? No disbelief.
A Grease spell? Welcome to the floor.
A Web? Stay still a moment, our archer would like a word with you.

Challenge rating seems like a soft 9/ hard 8. Not as powerful as, say a young adult black dragon (CR 9), but more powerful than a gray render (CR8). Either one seems reasonable.

Golems are immune to Fort saves, but blindness comes from more than Blindness/Deafness.
