    Default Settings for Iron Heroes

It just came to me that I actually doesn't know that many settings outside the D&D/Pathfinder/Conan's settings.

What would be a good read that can be played using IH?

Around here I have a very responsible position. Every time something goes wrong I'm responsible.

What's a good read depends on your tastes. I personally really enjoy Warrior (previously released as Doppelganger) by Marie Brennan, and it very much fits the Iron Heroes feel of "only certain people have magic, and they're scary and no one likes them."
Some things I do that you might enjoy:
Chaotic Shiny - Random generators of all types for gaming and writing (including characters, names, taverns, cities, pantheons, languages, and 60+ more)
Chaotic Shiny Productions - Flavor-packed D&D supplements (mostly 4e), plus some systemless free products and software
Latest: Kingdom Builder Generator Pack II

Maybe the Dragon Age setting would fit if you ramp up the brutality of the Templars a bit: fewer Chantry mages and more Apostates and Malificars.

The best way to learn about the setting is to play the game and read the codex entries there, but you could also check out the dragon age wiki: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Age_Wiki

The official website might also have more info, there's also two novels.
