Re: In need of quick help
Minotaurs aren't afraid of mazes, minotaurs dwell in mazes. It is one of their special powers not to get lost in them, no matter how convoluted.
Considering Minotaurs are basically bipedal cows, ask yourself: What would a cow be afraid of?Thanks for Zefir for the custom avatar.

Re: In need of quick help
If female, she could be an udder failure...
... sorry...
Seriously, of course a Minotaur can be afraid of mazes. It's your setting! Other possible motifs with connotations could include the following classic phobias:
Spiders
Darkness
Heights
Enclosed spaces
or, going for an elephant angle:
Mice
Easily built into an encounter could also be:
Bridges
Fire
Good luck!Last edited by Vargtass; 2010-03-05 at 07:58 AM.
There aren't really any exclusive or original ideas on TVTropes. That's kind of the point.

Re: In need of quick help
And if that fails, bring said minotaur to the closest burger king or mcdonalds establishment. He will know the true meaning of fear and he will cry to Baphomet to save him. Just pray that Baphomet doesn't hear him, or else you are in for an ass-kicking.

Re: In need of quick help
[Gurgling with ripped throat] Inverting the maze affinity, you could also use fear of open spaces.
On the cow angle, fear of thunder and lightning strikes me ... [and he does it AGAIN!]There aren't really any exclusive or original ideas on TVTropes. That's kind of the point.

Re: In need of quick help
Wolves or hunting dogs, I'd say.
Call it a leftover from his bovine ancestors. It'd also be more useful for PCs to exploit, IMO, and would make for an awesome scene as they used the dogs to flush him from cover and drive him out to be ridden down ...

Re: In need of quick help
Thinking seriously, a minatour is a big powerful monster that hits things hard, and should be most afraid of things that can't be hit: incorporeal monsters and diminutive swarms. If they can eat him (alive, one little nibble at a time) bonus scariness. Check out the Hellwasp Swarm, which should scare almost anyone.
