What do you mean by that you're burning 3 turn attempts? You can't stack Law Devotion with further uses from turn attempts, if that's what you're trying.

Law devotion provides boni to 2 different things, which do not overlap. How does that not stack?

If you can provide me with the ruling, I'll activate it only once, choosing to augment attack rolls.

Vision modes: darkvision, low-light vision. But let me know if you gain LoS somewhere near the starting area, there's something very obvious for you to see there.

I should have LOS to a good portion of your starting area. central area definately, west area definately, east area is a bit sketchy. Either way, you're up.

Centered on F2, you see a cloud of mist, obscuring your vision. 20 ft radius, 20 ft high.

As in see into those portions, or see from those?

If the former, you do not detect anything.

    Actions:
    Spoiler
    Show
Move action to listen: (1d20+21)[22]. Standard action to ready to punch with stunning fist if someone comes within 5 feet of him.

You're up. Could use a DM; just made an active listen check.

  17. - Top - End - #17

Default Re: Test of Spite Exhibition: Adumbration vs. PhoenixRivers

It was the former. I doubt your listen check will reveal anything (not because I doubt your ability to roll high. Without very specific spells, I'm not detectable by listen, regardless of the roll).

    My Turn (barring successful listen):
    Spoiler
    Show
    Hide: (1d20+20)[37]
    Move to F3.
If I see him: Ready action to move if he leaves my LOS.
If I don't: Ready action to move if he enters my LOS.

Vision now extends to E2-G4. Unless your vision modes have changed, you'll still detect nothing. If your vision modes have changed, I'd need a spot check.

    Your turn.

Vision modes have not changed, but in hindsight, I should have mentioned something previously. I honestly forgot this completely until now - if this would've changed your actions had you known, I'm willing to rewind.

The area of the mist glows faintly with golden light, and if you enter:
    Spoiler
    Show
All spells of 3rd level or lower currently affecting you are suppressed while you are inside the area.

If you keep your actions as they've been so far:
    Spoiler
    Show
You see a winged, angelic man in F2. He is wearing an ornated kilt, but nothing else - not jewelry, armor nor weapons. He appears to be actively defending himself.

Actions, if you choose to keep actions so far:
    Spoiler
    Show
Total defense. Switch Law devotion to AC - for now, I'm presuming two uses don't stack, and had the devotion previously on attack rolls.

Quick question: Does the effect you generate that turns off 3rd level and lower spells extend to coterminous planes? It won't change my action, I just need the info to accurately state the action.

It is an abjuration effect, so it should extend to the ethereal plane at least. Not sure what other coterminous planes there are, so don't know about them.

You're fine on the double Law Devotion. I was under the mistaken impression that it only cost 1 use of turn undead to gain further uses, so I thought you were trying to use it 3 times for +21.

If all spell effects of 3rd level and lower are suppressed, could you verify the fog is not? I don't know of any fog spell effects of level 4 or higher that occupy the area given.

I have a question that I posed Claudius, but perhaps you can answer.

All my level 3 and lower spells are suppressed. Only effect I know of that does this is a lesser globe of invulnerability.

20 foot radius fog spheres (that don't inhibit movement), to my knowledge, are created by precisely 2 spells. Obscuring Mist and Fog Cloud. Both are below level 4.

I'd like to verify the existence of the fog.

What effect is preventing 3rd level and lower effects from functioning? If that fog is Obscuring Mist, why is it not suppressed?
