Lords of the Underworld = Lvl 8 loot?
I was looking through the Fiendish Codexes (Codices?), and noticed a trend among most lords of Hell/lords of the Abyss: they have weak weapons. Most of them sport +1 to +2 weapons, and many signature weapons are only +3. Barring the few unique magic weapons (Yeenoghu's [sp?] flail, the ruby rod, etc...), the adventuring party encountering them will have more powerful gear. Is there a reason there aren't too many high level items amongst them, and if not, would giving them more powerful versions of their weapons 'break' them in ways other than the obvious? It seems like WotC was too scared to give them +5 versions of their weapons.
In all honesty, an enterprising group of PCs can probably finagle their way through the underworld by stocking up on high level weapons, and bartering them to the lords and their minions (though that sounds like an interesting idea).D20 Modern Complete HTML SRD

Re: Lords of the Underworld = Lvl 8 loot?
The aspects of demon and devil lords are powerful enough without PC-level loot. They wouldn't be lords if they aren't awesome even while naked or in an AMF (you think adventurers haven't tried THAT before?) so that's why they don't carry around that much combat gear.
