[3.5] Improved Natural Attack & Rake/Rend
Does Improved Natural Attack change the damage done by a rake or rend attack?
I am working on an Annis Hag build with both rake and rend. The base claw damage is 1d6 with a 1d6 rake and a 2d6 rend. Do they increase to 1d8, 1d8 and 2d8 respectively?
Thanks.Tekeli Li! Tekeli Li!

Re: [3.5] Improved Natural Attack & Rake/Rend
Yes for the rake attacks, no for the Rend. Rake attacks specifically are bonus claw attacks, so anything that improves the creature's claw attack will carry over into the rake. Rend appears to be derived from the claws, but there's no rule that actually causes it to be based on the claw damage, so INA (Claw) will not carry through to it.

Re: [3.5] Improved Natural Attack & Rake/Rend
Rend damage is typically 2 claws + 2xstr mod damage.

More specifically, this part.
Rend damage probably should be increased if you’re Power Attacking, but by the rules, it isn’t increased. Go complain to a game designer. Don’t forget to apply that damage, though.
