7. Random Banter can only be as good, or as entertaining, as you make it. Demands to be entertained will fall on deaf ears unless you can add something more meaningful to the conversation.

8. As this is a public forum, where the current topic is nicely recorded for you, and not a conversation where you could have missed the beginning, please refrain from asking something to the effect of "What's the topic?". Please take the time to read up a bit first.

9. Thread Creator must include the words "Random" and "Banter" as well as the thread #. Try to be concise as well.

10. Every post should contain two visible, legible complete sentences, Subject and Predicate. C'mon, make your old English teachers proud.

11. Remember, Random Banter is not your IM client. If you want to have a back and forth discussion with just one person, look in their contact information for IM details.

I've just got my car back from its repairs. Everybody is on full action stations at work. We're all getting an end of year bonus. And the "Naked Maze Night" has just been organised, so all my friends are looking forward to that, this'll be the second time for most of us.

Just got told off by my manager at work about two hours ago.
Apparently, they'd spot-checked a recording of one of my calls at work from last week, and figured that I'd done a poor job.
Phrases such as "I didn't think you'd do something like that" and "I'm really disappointed to hear this" and "I thought you'd know better than to do that" and stuff like that were uttered by my manager.
Apparently, I'd helped a customer without taking his/her details or given them a reference number.
I asked her what the call was about, and she couldn't answer that (since she doesn't speak Norwegian or Swedish). I asked her when it was recorded, and the only answer she could give me was "last week".
I asked if I could have a chance to listen to the recording to review it myself, and she answered that "yes" i could. However, she then said she was too busy doing something else to send me the recording.

I just got back from lunch, and reminded her about the recording, and if she could send it to me, and at that point, she grudgingly admitted that one of the managers above her thought I was to be commended for my work and that I was doing a great job. So it seems that that manager figured that that call was just 'one bad call' that didn't reflect my overall performance.

I went for an interview at Westminster, And I'm still waiting to hear from them. I sent an online portfolio to Kingston, still waiting to hear from them. However, they're supposed to be in the top 3 universities in the country, so I hope I get in. I just got back from my interview at Hertfordshire, And they told me there and then that I'm in. I still have an interview at Middlesex, but I'm not too bothered about them.

The uni is... BIG. And... Impressive. There's two main campuses and each campus is split up into different sections. The art deppartment is then split up a into the different courses. I'll be studdying in the Animation building if I go. You have to take a shuttle to get from one campus to the next, and I got lost twice. ._.

Indeed. It makes drawings move! :D It's like reading a comic book, only with no reading.

EDIT: I'm not sure to be honest. They all have their plusses.

Westminster has a good course and a friendly environment. You can mess around with all aspects of animation from CGI, Games art, 3D, 2D digital, Stop motion with puppets and traditional pen and paper. However, the facilities aren't too special and they're not as well-recognised as other uni's
Kingston animation course Is both an animation and illustration one, so I can focus on designing comic books, book illustrations and further develop my style while still working on animation. It's also one of the top universities in the country, though I haven't actually been to visit it.
Hertfordshire has amazing facilities, and most importantly, close contacts with DreamWorks, BBC Pixar and what-not. They're also very good at getting you a good job and getting you to work with big names. However, they're courses are very restrictive. The other universities offer you a general an animation course, and you pick which area you want to specialise in as go progress. Here, you go either into 2D, 3D, Games Art or VFX (eg: special effects, CGI, after effects) before you even join. I picked 2D, but it's a shame because I kinda wanted to explore the other areas. But hey, they do some funky stuff in the second and third year.
