What to play as...

Since about a year ago, I took up the part of DMing my party (after the previous DM left). As such, I've had almost no opportunities to be a PC in that time. However, one of my friends said he was willing to give DMing a try, and I get to finally play as a character again. The only trouble is, I don't know what to play as. Now, before I started DMing, I only ever played Wizards, Clerics, and (in mid-level campaigns) Mystic Theurges (I know, I know "It's a trap", but the party sometimes needed both parts to be played, even if it was suboptimal). Because of those memories, I don't want to have to work too hard on micromanaging resources, such as dealing with a spell list.
Also, I talked to some of the other PCs, and they seem to be playing...
-A lockdown fighter
-A skill/charisma based rogue
-Someone who has no idea what they want to play yet

Given all this, what should I play as?
