Character artwork?
Well, as some of you may have seen over in my dwarven rogue thread, I'm starting a (surprise!) dwarven rogue. A friend may be doing a portrait, and I'm wanting to supply her with some sort of starting-point imagery but am coming up short (ha, I made with the funny); there's not much out there on Google Images that is even close. Not looking for a WoW look, a fighter look, a cartoon look, etc. - really wanting something more like the dwarf pic on the 3.5 PHB race images pages, but rogued-up (y'know, leather armor, bow and rapier, pouches and toolkits à la Medieval Dungeon Batman, plus all sneaky-looking :D ). Anybody know of anything out there that might at least start to fit?

Re: Character artwork?
Alternately, show her a picture of your ideal dwarf and a picture of our ideal rogue and have her connect the dots?
It always amazes me how often people on forums would rather accuse you of misreading their posts with malice than re-explain their ideas with clarity.

Re: Character artwork?
That's a good start. I've already pointed out the dwarf PHB portrait. May need to start tracking down some good "ideal rogue" pics. Good call.
*edit* Hmm. The pic of Lidda in the PHB rogue description is darn close. A bit more on the utility belt/pouches/tool bandolier/etc. and less on the big damn pack, and it'll be even closer.Shecky

Re: Character artwork?
have you perused elfwood.com? Some artists are pretty open about using their art as a muse...

I would tell them to combine Jonny Depp with Danny Devito.

I know you're pretty set, but this is what I first thought of when you said "dwarf with toolkits":
