Arlem is traipsing around back alleyways, trying to look lost.

Arlem may or may not notice Zel walking by. She has her hands in her pockets, and is staring at the ground as she goes. The obsidian stone in her chest reflects whatever light there is fairly well.

Arem notices Zel, but ignores her. Too much of a PC for her purposes.

Zel continues her walk, not really having a set destination.

Not far behind her, a cloaked figure follows. Even though the hood isn't low, the face is impossible to see.

giant billboards are going up everywhere around inside, and work people are busy hanging up Giant ad's on them:

[Skies above Inside/Acro-Imperial HQ]

Something odd, given certain circumstances, is happening now.

The Imperial HQ airship landing dome has opened, and the Sanctuary, the airborne carrier that has been in the skies above Inside for so long, is landing.

A million men, undetectable, rush onto the ship!

Well, this doesn't happen.

It'd be funny if it did, though.

Grant looks up at the sky to watch the airship go down.

[Acro Imperial Headquarters: Main Gate]

Outside the Main Gate, three Acro-Imperial APCs come to a halt, letting out their payload. The Riot Troopers pour out, forming into their firing and shield lines to protect the gate. The last to come out are Commander Edijar and his two officers, Hicks and Vasquez. Edijar moves to the center, and the two Corporals take their own spots to the sides. The APC turrets are manned, moving slowly back and forth.

Nothing was getting past.


[Acro Imperial Headquarters: South Gate]

At the South Gate, is a completely different force, one much smaller but also much deadlier. The three Light Walkers of Viper Squad stand guard. They're bipedal and heavily armored for their size. One has a chaingun, another has a laser cannon, and the final has a rapid fire pulse laser, letting the squad be effective against most things.

The fangs stamped around their cockpit mark their kill tally.

There are a lot of fangs...

[Acro-Imperial HQ]

The Sanctuary has landed by now, the dome shutting. A number of Imperial gunships fly over the area. Meanwhile, Imperial forces continue to reinforce the base's security.

[Imperial HQ-West Gate]

A force of 2 Imperial Army APCs and a hovertank is guarding the West Gate, two Imperial Army squads (from said APCs) assisting them.

[Imperial HQ-East Gate]

A similar force to that at the West Gate protects the East Gate, though there might be someone of note among them...

Grant walks to the East Gate to see if he can find out what is going on.

At the East Gate, a single Imperial soldier is trying to deal with a handful of NPCs asking what's going on. "Guys! Please! It's nothing important! Now would you please just...go back to whatever you were doing before?"

Several of the other soldiers are muttering quietly about the "rookie".

One or two are apparently making bets on how long it takes before the poor guy snaps and does something stupid.

Market Streets, by Dennis's Flower Stand

A young blond woman is browsing through the tulips, trying to pick one for her boyfriend to give to her, since he's too helpless to find his own. She's rather short, but that's expected for non-superheroes.

She finds a tulip that has a red and yellow swirl, and asks the owner, "How much?" He gives an answer, and she, having enough money, buys the flower.

The short, pudgy woman takes no heed of the tall man. After all, he doesn't stand out very much in her mind.

She's not walking around, either. Rather, she's striking a conversation with Dennis, the owner of the flower stand. "Oh, wow. That's so odd," she says in response to a comment about a nearby city. "What do you think they're going to do?"
"You didn't hear this from me, but I heard that they're going to..." his voice drops really low, and she leans in to listen better.

Then, anon, she suddenly leans back and laughs. It's an extremely loud laugh and annoying, causing the people walking down the streets to all turn and look at her.
They continue to gossip...

Tiberius puts on a gas mask, and rolls a sleeping gas grenade into the crowd around the woman(subtlety is a word that does not exist in his vocabulary). if she falls asleep, he'll try to grab her, and leg it back to NO

Dennis's Flower Stand, Market Street

The grenade goes over there, and of course she falls unconscious, just like everyone else in the viscinity.

As soon as he throws the grenade, several people start screaming as they notice it. Many people run away. "He's got something!"" "Help!" "Get back!" "Run and go get help, Jimmy!"

As the people surge away, several trip or get shoved down, and get stepped on. Some arms break, wares are stolen, and a gun fires off in the confusion, hitting someone in the chest. Blood comes out, and someone attempts to do stem the bleeding.

The sound of crying children can be heard piercing the relative silence of the street.

Moral of the story? Don't throw grenades in the busiest part of a city. Especially when you stick out like a sore thumb, and everybody's already looking at the person you threw the grenade at.

However, he has successfully captured the woman.

as I said, he legs it back to NO with the woman over his shoulders . at least he didn't start mowing down the crowd with his automatic crossbow...

Market Street

Some First Aid medics from the local hospital rush to the scene to take care of the wounded, to buy time until the healers and clerics can arrive.

...yup. That's what happens. One down, two to go.

A man is walking down the street, looking at the parked vehicles by the side of the road. The man is wearing a posh suit and sunglasses. One of the cars has caught his eye; it is a green four-door hatchback with five seats. The man circles the car several times and eventually sits outside a nearby cafe, waiting for somebody.

Eventually, the owner of the car arrives and unlocks it from a distance with the button on the keys. The suited man stands up, dashes over, punches him in the face and grabs the keys before dashing to the car, getting in and driving off. The man was astoundingly fast, but can be stopped at any point in this plan.

Turtle, still drunk, sees the mugging and tries to tackle the mugger. She is fast, but not amazingly so, especially when drunk.

The smartly dressed mugger is caught by surprise, and brought to the ground, which knocks off his sunglasses. Turtle may get a surprise; his irises are red. He attempts to grab Turtle by the throught and stand up, lifting her off the ground. He is a lot stronger than he looks, almost supernaturally so.

Turtle is as strong as a normal human who has worked out a lot. So he's probably stronger than her. She's lifted off the ground, but starts to shapeshift-ooze out of his grasp, like the Terminator 1000.

[Acro-Imperial HQ]

The HQ dome is opening up again, revealing the Sanctuary once more. However, it is not launching.

Particularly keen observers may note that broadcast equipment and quite a few large speakers have been dragged out onto the grounded carrier's deck.

There's no Vyrn there, though, but there are quite a few men on the deck, including both ISF and Imperial Army guards.

There are two men that might be distinctive on-deck. There's one man in a middle-ranking officer's uniform matching that of the ISF, and another in a similar uniform, only this time it matches that of the Imperial Army.

Assuming anyone at all can actually see this, of course.

How odd that the high-ranking officials are missing, and middle-rankers are the ones present. Especially considering the Sanctuary looks to be getting used as a gigantic stage for a speech...

"Eeurgh, if you stain my suit, I'll stain my fists with your blood. And probably that of a few innocents, too." The suited man, who has had his mind eaten by the demon possessing him so he's now no more than a shell, tries to roll over and pin Turtle underneath him.

[Acro-Imperial HQ: East Gate]

Wonderful! Now they're about to do something big and important right on top of the Sanctuary!

This, of course, only attracts more NPCs, resulting in the poor rookie having to deal with an even larger barrage of ridiculous questions.

"Ooh, are they going to do a concert in the middle there?"
"Did somebody important die?"
"Are they giving people medals?"
"Can I go inside and get a closer look?
"Oh, yes, me too! Come on! Let us in, we want to see what's going on!"

"N-no! It's not a concert, as far as I know, nobody is dead, if anybody deserves a medal it's me for having to deal with you idiots, and you definitely are not allowed to go in!"

The other soldiers watching the East Gate merely watch and laugh as the new guy desperately tries to shoo the NPCs away, only for more to come over and start asking the same silly questions all over again.

He succeeds, but Turtle snarls and tries to head butt him as hard as she can.

She succeeds, and now the host of Dam'Bul has a black eye and his nose is bleeding. This does not, however, stop him from pushing himself up into a bipedal stance and dashing towards the silver four-door hatchback he's got the keys for. He's fast, but Turtle could catch him or stop him at any time in the movement.
