    Default Astrology in D&D

Has anyone found a system that integrates astronomy into D&D passably? I have the issue of Dragon with some information on it, but it all seemed painfully bad (Profession [astrologer] was all right, but the feats were all useless). I'm trying to build an astrologer wizard (diviner), and I would have liked to go into Master Astrologer from there, but it's worse than straight wizard. Suggestions for an astrology-oriented PrC (not Sublime Chord, please)?

You're talking about the Dragon with all the star sign-specific items (that are all completely different levels, for some reason Houseruled them more even) and that, right?
Other than that, I got nothin', though you might like to have a squiz at Crystalkeep, see if there's anything there.

You could try a specialist wizard (divination) with master specialist and then divine oracle. Using normal Wotc that is the best I can think of that is off the top of my head.

It would certainly give you some cool stuff and would allow for Incantatrix at some point for an abjuration+divination specialist. Use profession(Astrologer) for your profession skill, then take feats like Dreamtelling, Skill Focus(Knowledge(Religion)), Skill Focus(Profession(Astrologer)) and the feat from FRCS that allows you to learn the history of the area you are standing on (I forget what it is called).

Hadly powerful or optomised though. But would be fun. Other feats like Improved Counterspell and other counterspell feats would also be extremely useful.

    Does Alienist count?

Seriously, I would just go straight Wizard and chalk the star-stuff up to flavor.

Dragon Magazine (back when it was in print) did an entire issue on Astrology. Mongoose Publishing has 'Star Magic', which I've got to say is really an exquisite book for such a little package. Finally, if memory serves me right, Atlas Games' 'Occult Lore' had rules for astrology, among other things. Still, I'd recommend Star Magic and/or Dragon over it.

If you don't mind homebrew, I made an astrologist PrC a while back that you might like.

The Earthdawn supplement Barsaive had some stuff on Astrology in that game, which might be instructive.

I might grab a copy of the Mongoose supplement, thanks.

    What does Dreamtelling do?

    Dreamtelling

There is also leading from it:
    Oneiromancy
    Improved Oneiromancy

The FR Feat I was thinking of is actually in Races of Faerun:

    Aftersight

There are a lot of good Divination focused feats in Complete Mage I found as well. You should check them out for sure.

You can also use Geometer, and refluff the 'glyphs and sigils' as constellations.

    Yes, it looks awesome :p
