Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Ahhhh the sweet smell of optimization in the morning!
Lagren: I took Livers Need Not Apply, only reflavoured.
DocRoc: to?
Lagren: So whenever Harry wisecracks, he regains HP.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
For those wondering, the average SR of a dragon is CR+6.4125.
The highest relative SR is a brass dragon, at CR+7.25. The highest Chromatic (also the second highest overall) is White, at CR+6.75.
The lowest is Red, at CR+5.375. The lowest Metallic (also second lowest) is a tie between Gold and Silver, at CR+6.25.
Chromatics average at CR+6.275, Metallics at CR+6.55.
What I have learned? Metallics, overall, have higher SR, and the weaker the dragon (in both CR and colour), the better the relative SR. Most young Adults, for example, have CR+8 (reds being a notable exception with only CR+6, their highest value). Most Great Wyrms have CR+6 (Brass being the only exception at +7).
Reds are really, really freakin' low in SR. They are the lowest in every single possible categorization.
This is just something I did last night. It came up in chat, and I decided to math it all out.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
It's been a while since I've posted in ToS, but is anyone up for an exhibition against my archivist-ish build?

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
What tier would you rate him? I've got something that I'd like to take for a ride, but it's... a bit unfair, so I wouldn't feel comfortable pitting him against anything below tier 2.
In addition, for the next week or so, my internet access will be erratic. I'd also prefer summoning available on buff rounds, but I can do without. Minimum 3 buff rounds, but more the merrier for me.
EDIT: Rereading these conditions... It's definitely not what you're expecting. Not a minionmancer, per say.Last edited by Adumbration; 2010-07-03 at 02:27 AM.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Is anyone still around? I've got quite a few new builds in mind, but I wouldn't want to actually make them if no one will be available to fight...

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
I've always wanted to make a ToS character, however I know I am generally not even half the optimiser most of you are. Best I've ever came up with solo was the Legion Mage (back before I knew of optimisation boards), which as I understand, isn't even close to ToS tier characters.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Well, a couple of my builds aren't even casters, so if you made a decent caster, it might be a good fight.

Not died ... just went on summer vacation?
You can call me Draz.
Trophies:
Spoiler
Also of note:
- Winning Entry of Gestalt Build Challenge IV
- 3rd Place in Iron Chef XI (Blade Bravo)
- Judge of Iron Chef XXIII (Divine Champion)
I have a number of ongoing projects that I manically jump between to spend my free time ... so don't be surprised when I post a lot about something for a few days, then burn out and abandon it.
... yes, I need to be tested for ADHD.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
I'd agree with that. It's just not been a priority for most of us.

Heh, well, it's good to see that it didn't die, summer vacationing or not.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
According to the Rule's Compendium, this is the weapon damage by size.
Spoiler
Number of Size Categories Increased
Med Dmg ONE TWO THREE FOUR
1d2 1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8
1d3 1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6
1d4 1d6 1d8 2d6 3d6
1d6 1d8 2d6 3d6 4d6
1d8 2d6 3d6 4d6 6d6
1d10 2d8 3d8 4d8 6d8
1d12 3d6 4d6 6d6 8d6
2d4 2d6 3d6 4d6 6d6
2d6 3d6 4d6 6d6 8d6
2d8 3d8 4d8 6d8 8d8
2d10 4d8 6d8 8d8 12d8
If you extrapolate this chart, how much damage does a weapon do if it's 5, 6, 7, 8, or even 9 size categories larger than medium?
Also, I've noticed that most of the "maps" are very small. Are there any maps that can accomidate Colossal sized creatures?

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
This is an extremely old thread, and I'm not sure if you're posting in the right place.
Still, I'll answer.
2d6 -> 3d6 -> 4d6 -> 6d6 -> 8d6 -> 12d6 -> 16d6 -> 24d6 -> 32d6 -> 48d6 -> 64d6 -> 96d6 -> 128d6
And identically for any 2d8 damage.
This is extrapolation, and is not written anywhere published afaik.Last edited by term1nally s1ck; 2010-12-16 at 03:28 PM.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Well, I was wanting an official ruleing since I was going to make a ToS character. Each DM I've been under had different charts they used for weapon size. Some used Arms & Equipment, some used Dieties & Demigods, and some used the Rule's Compendium.
And even then, some can't agree on what the progression looks like for larger weapons. That's why I wanted an official ToS ruleing.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Aaaand I have a question about character design as well. Is Symbiotic Creature (Savage Species) allowed? I noticed that SS is Approval Only, and I figured before I made a ToS character, I would find this out.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Does anyone know how the OP randomly generated environments?
It could help us with this thread:

Thanks.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
i think that line about randomly generated environments was something jake put in really early. claudius_maximus said that he rolled for a map on a few occasions, but people just kind of picked a map and fought too.
