Weapons launching other weapons

The icechucker from Its Cold Outside can be used with javelins, doing damage as an icehucker firing icicles. Are there any other weapons that act similarly? Specifically is there a weapon that would allow a character to fire a harpoon and pass on a magical effect the way crossbows and bows do for their ammunition?

I have a feeling that tonight is gonna be a good night enchanting harpoons will not work like this due to them not being ammunition, but I figured that I would ask anyway.

This is the sort of thing that leads to guns firing chainsaws that are on fire. I suppose with the technology shift, it'd be some sort of crossbow that fires spinning glaives that are magically imbued with fire... But you get the idea.

You allow one that seems ok, and before you know it, one of your PCs will be wielding that monster.

I'm not saying that's bad. It all depends on how the game is run, really.
