OOTS #723 - The Discussion Thread
New comic is up.
Edited to say: Some non-urgent art fixes; the Empress' speech balloon was white instead or red, and the stripe on the General's cloak was coming out the wrong color. Both fixed now.

Re: OOTS #723 - The Discussion Thread
...Well, given that Nale got his alignment, Elan had to have gotten something out of this. I was wondering how this was going to go...
But now we have a name for Elan's dad that isn't Tyrinar.LPs:

Re: OOTS #723 - The Discussion Thread
..
That was brilliant, everything from the bounty hunter's reaction to Elan's reaction.
I am totally abandoning a child so I can use that line
Also: does this mean Elan & Nale's mother was C/G but completely in love with herself, and she passed it onto Nale?Piratebold-Bard by Elder Tsofu | Backer #121 of the Giantitp Kickstarter | My homebrew

And (if he's not lying) it looks like Elan may have inherited his love of tropes from his dad.

Re: OOTS #723 - The Discussion Thread
Too cool! Now we know where Elan and Nale got their sense of dramatics! It's in the blood!
I must agree though, Tarquin does have pretty cool armor. Good reveal Giant! Thanks!

Re: OOTS #723 - The Discussion Thread
Am I the only one who laughed out loud at the most inappropriate first name of an evil character, ever?
On the other hand...there was a certain Grand Moff Tarquin in that one movie whose name escapes me at the moment, something about wars in the stars.

Re: OOTS #723 - The Discussion Thread
Not ready to write off his name being Tyrinar.
1. Last name hypothesis as already speculated.
2. He lied to the nice conquering empress when he lost Tyrinaria.
3. The Empress has no idea what his name is and just called him something beginning with T.

Re: OOTS #723 - The Discussion Thread
Oh man, that was great.
I was 95% sure it was Elan's daddy, of course, but that was REALLY not the personality I had expected from him. But, really, it's perfect. (And much more interesting than the serious Big Bad I was expecting him to be.)Last edited by Xadhoom; 2010-05-13 at 08:08 AM.
Check out The Adventures of The Duck Avenger - Because you've always wanted to see Donald Duck battle hordes of invading aliens, mad scientists, and time pirates.
