Demon dissmisal
Heyo peoples
Current situation
3.5 ed
Kryn setting
Lawful Good city(VERY LAWFUL)
Objective Pose as guests to a noble's party and preform an exorsism on said noble
Current party
(or at least those who can pose as party goers)
We have a female 8th lvl vampire (gaurded against detect evil), Male 1/2elf wizard conjuration spec. bared from necro & abjuration, elf male wizard generalist also 8th lvl, cleric necromancer 9th lvl, Kender rouge 8th lvl, and a sea elf that transforms into an octopus rogue 8th lvl.
Here's the problem as you can see we have some questionable party members several of which are involved in some not so lawful good activities what's worse is we aren't sure how powerful this demon is supposed to be what magical defense has been placed within or around the mansion. Even worse than that we aren't even sure if this guy is possesed. Worst of all Nobody in the party can cast dissmisal so we are either stuck fighting this thing hand to hand (BAD IDEA), we can try tricking somebody into fighting/ dismising the thing or just plain out forget this fight altogether.
ANY help suggestions or spell preparations u guys can think of will be greatly appreciated
TY

Re: Demon dissmisal
If the cleric's 9th level, he should be able to cast Dismissal...

Re: Demon dissmisal
Get the Necromancer to cast Dispel Evil or Dispel Chaos on the possessed noble. Which ones he can cast depend on his alignment.
Edit: Oh yeah, Dismissal.
Also, the demon can't control the noble if the noble is under the effect of Protection from Evil or Protection from Chaos. Magic Circle Against Evil/Chaos works too.
Exorcism from Fiendish Codex I can drive out a possessing fiend. It's a 1st level Cleric spell that your Necromancer can cast regardless of his alignment.
If you're driving out a possessing fiend, you would do well to have a means to see and fight invisible and ethereal creatures, because the fiend will be both.Last edited by Claudius Maximus; 2010-05-22 at 04:23 PM.

Re: Demon dissmisal
Can the demon make saves without surfacing?
Would the demon have to surface/take control of the noble for dismisal to work?
If the demon does come out and he makes all the saves what would be the best way to defeat him without any casualties from the party or the noble
