To be fair, AzulaxSpike as a non-canon ship is actually pretty plausible... Once you remove the whole "Azula is one of the handful of pokemon not attracted to Spike" deal, anyway. In fact, with the exception of the following, all pairings with Spike are plausible and, to a certain extent, canon if done correctly, factoring in varrying levels of attraction and compatibility:
Azula (Just not interested in love; possibly asexual)
Rya (One of the few moemon I actually consider to be, effectively, a little girl)
FISTICUFFS (We've discussed her)
Erika (Only has eyes for Terra)
and
Mellow (Love is for puny flesh-based beings. The proper form of reproduction is spores)

I've posted that list before, though I think Erika wasn't around at the time.

Of course, I think the number of pokemon who are actively crushing on him is a different matter, and can be enumerated specifically.

That just about explains it, I just sometimes don't understand why people tend to like characters that I think are intended to be disliked (Belkar, being my prime example). I know this is a case of YMMV, but really I don't understand that fixation on basterds... (misspeling intented)

Besides, I never relaally liked parasect as a pokemon

Two simple reasons for me:
1) Parasect was one of my favorite pokemon first gen, and
2) I tend towards alternate character interpretation, and Pascals Wager for kindness would state to be kind

I'm interested in why she/it WANTS to take over the world, as an "emotionless" beast would not be irrational. Just because she/it is frank and acts in a possibly bad way does not make her/it evil.

You could say I am compensating for the thread hate...

Hm.... I actually was planning on doing Leafe x Helga, based on bee and flower, and their recent little interactions. The posing is tricky.
I've got the basic sketch for Terra x Spike, but her expression is tricky.

I'm not so sure. He gives up his grass weakness, but gets weakness to fighting and ground, and fire becomes neutral. Compare that to Swampert who is immune to what would normally be a weakness, the tradeoff being double-weakness to another. Blus, double resistance to fire and (I think) rock.

I can't remember the stats off the top of my head, so the Penguin might beat the mud fishy there.

Swampert has a higher stat total (by 5 points), its attack is basically the same as Empoleon's special attack (and vice versa), Swampert wins at HP, while the penguin does so at special defense. Speed and defense are virtually the same.

Empoleon is only single-resistant to Water. Its only double resists are Steel and Ice. Its most important resistance, however, is that to Dragon. Only Steel types are resistant to Dragon type attacks. Four of the six Pseudo-Legend evolutionary lines are Dragon types. Two of those are the only non-Wobbuffet non-Legends to be kicked up to the Über tier by Smogon. Resisting Dragon is quite important.

Actually, Twinneedle no longer inflicts poison on Steel or Poison types.
