And, of course, for the fact that I'm dumb enough to try to fit all of Silph. Co into one chapter. I'll probably instead break it into two: one for exploring the place, one for major battles/post-Silph Saffron exploration/training, and then onto the gym. Something like that. My screenshot count is pretty high by this point, so that may be the way to go.

Because my emulator makes the game run at ludicrous speed. Actually managing to get the cursor onto Lavender Town without overshooting takes about as long as actually walking to Lavender Town. The Bike has a simmilar problem when I'm trying to go in a specific spot: it's why you rarely see Seed on her bike.

There should be ways to lower the speed under the "Options" tab. It's frameskip and throttle on the version I have.

I actually find the frameskip to be a godsend sometimes, albeit getting through tight spaces (like, for example, the ice-breaking block patterns in Emerald) can be a bit irritating.

Mr. Mime...Is a girl? Where did the “Mister” come from?

Well, Mr. Mime's original Japanese name was "Barrierd," which has nothing that implies it being a male-only species. It also didn't matter when it debuted in R/B/Y, since there were no genders in the first generation, but that changed of course. I'm assuming Game Freak didn't take the "Mr." of the English (and French) name into consideration when making genders, so we now have this as the end result.

Heh. I've played so much I memorized all the important things, and even some of the unimportant ones. I can go through a route and remember which NPC has what Pokemon. "Weepinbell. Next one's a Pidgeotto..." It's kind of sad, really.

No. Though I can see where you'd think that: their motives come from an awareness of the unfairness of the situation they, as largely ordinary people, were born into, and a desire to rectify it... In their favor, of course. But their objectives aren't nearly so noble nor so near-impossible. And, for most of them, something like that would be not only near-impossible, but completely so. Perhaps if that were not the case, they would not have joined Team Rocket in the first place.
