Opinions on Master Transmogrifist 3.5

What does everyone think about this PrC? Is it worth the 4 lost caster levels? How does it play powerwise? Just anythoughts or opinions on it would be helpful.

I always found it pretty funny that it's capstone ability, Infinite variety, works on shapechange when, without cheese, you can't get 9th levels spells taking it.

The tier list for PrCs lists it as -1.

Powerwise, it's pretty insanely powerful when you pick good forms. Probably not worth the lost caster levels without cheesing some of them back (coughkoboldcough), but definitely a solid option and well worth it in a non-optimizing game.

Thanks for the feedback, thinking of an Old Man of the Sea style character for a NPC in a campaign. Just need to choose the right forms...
