steampunk classes?
hey guys, i wanted to find (or create) some steampunk classes for a victorian era steampunk game im running. there are 3 nations, one being like america, one beying like europe, and one being like the east and middle east combined.
so far i have started writing my own, but i wanted to see what you guys thought they should have (or if a similar class exsists)
p.s. i want them to be base classes.
so far, technician - basically like a steampunk version of team fortress 2 engineer. i want technicians to be the guys who repair warforged (there are warforged btw) and run zepplins and basically do all the technology-stuff. i kinda wanted them to be able to create mechanical minions and devices, more important ones as they progress, and rely on them, i want technicians to be weak in combat.
safari hunter - aka trapper (american side) i want them to be kidna like snipers, almost like an alternate version of the ranger. i thought it would be a cool idea to make them either specialize in bows and arrows or rifles. if they choose the bow side they are stealthier, like a rogue, rifles do more damage and longer range or something.
mad scientist - all i ask for this one is have alot to do with materials, kinda like an alchemist, except not sucky lol
i also wanted something like a sugreon, a healer for victorian era. clerics exsist, but they are extremely religious fanatics and are kinda rare.
also, in my game, magic isnt just learned. magic is used through crystals. each crystal represents one spell. for instance, a sorcerer that knows 5 level 0 spells has to buy 5 different level 0 spell crystals. its just something i wanted to add to the game, idk if you guys can work with that or if it's just useless info.
EDIT:
forgot to mention, i was wondering if anyone could think of some classes to add to the american side and the eastern side.
note: the native american stereotype race is lupine, and in the east they have leonine, which are basically the same thing as lupine except cats...just thought id through in that info in case it helps.Last edited by agumathebear; 2010-06-02 at 12:19 AM.

Re: steampunk classes?
Also look up the following classes:
The Inventor: Complex class that crafts TONS of stuff.
The Artificer: A WotC class that, with a bit of reflavoring, could be very Steam-punk.
The Black Powder Mage: A firearms specialist that packs a decent punch.
But Temotei221 covered it pretty well.
Ingredients
2oz Djinn
5oz Water
1 Lime Wedge
Instructions
Pour Djinn and tonic water into a glass filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Garnish with lime wedge. Serve.

Re: steampunk classes?
thanks those are pretty good, especially the engineer. as for the racial thing, i was just saying it like, you know how you cant watch a western without a horse-chase and usually at least one native american in the movie, thats what i meant by stereotype, not saying the race is like wolves or anything lol, my girlfriend is half native american lmao
