    Dread Pirate Elder Omiko Derabat Shaw, Bearer of the Right Eye
    Gender: Female
    Species: Lynx-beastman demon-infested cyborg. One part human, one part lynx, two parts aphote (its that extra helping of aphote that sets her apart from her fellows), one part nihil, one part lament, two parts machine, one part BAARA.
    Age: 429
    Alignment: Chaotic Evil or Black
    Profession: Entrepreneur. You pick up a lot of skills in all those years.
    Power Rating: A
    Description: Pointy ears with a black tuft on top of her head, whiskers, pointy nose, tawny fur. Her face is just exactly the wrong shape, such that you can see it's kind of human, and kind of animal, and definitely not either.
    Her left eye has been replaced with an array of cameras, lasers, and data ports. Her right eye has been replaced with the gleaming green one of the Corrupter, avatar of BAARA, and is usually concealed behind a horn-rimmed monocle on a golden chain. Pale golden fur with black spots. Her tail is more flexible than it ought to be, and is covered in metallic bands. Shoulder and spine rebuilt to accommodate additional limbs: a heavy gripping claw and a beam cannon.
    Personality: One has to look out for themselves.
    Equipment:
    Three crystals that can each fire one more blast of heat that travels even underwater, boiling everything in its path.
    +1 Sharktooth Dagger.
    The Vasa - The submarine is long and roughly bullet-shaped. It has crystals with charged energy for defense and propulsion.
    Abilities: Omiko is (almost) completely and unconditionally immortal, unable to be killed or even permanently harmed by almost anything. Traveling back in time to erase her from existence or forcing local reality to conform to a very strict interpretation of Possibility are about the only ways to do it. Her mechanical parts are less invulnerable than the rest of her.
    By the nature of SHADOW BEFORE WHICH ALL IS WATER, Omiko can completely heal any entity that is at least 30% intact.
    Needlework: Omiko's nails and hair are an aphote. Through/with/as it, she can conjure arbitrary items of dark crystal and black glass.
    Thaumaturgy: Can transform matter to and from the shape of vehicles, summon a holding space, and perform some other tricks.
    Omiko's skin is an aphote. Can grow additional mouths and sensory organs and vastly change her amount of mass (but not below a minimum).
    Can see the invisible, touch the untouchable, etc.
    Her familiar, Dot, exists only in her head. Right?
    When the suits are made, it calls on the nihil. The profusion of hands, the blood, the nacreous fires, the ways in which even the sad fragments of those CAST LOW in the sight of YALDABOATH can display the glory of IT THAT IS THE KING.

    By the next nightfall, a banner has been raised, bearing the fanged arcology symbol of the Veldt and the search-algorithm line-pattern of BC herself.

    A Place for Every Thing and Everything in its Place

    This is a point of some being bitten because while they had the same sexes as other mammals, they are highly dimorphic, and the vasoril society is mono-gender. The evolutionary brain development pressures were such that only females were sapient. For an intelligent being to appear male was perverse and disturbing. Of course, living among humans and raptors and other unusual beings, one grows accustomed to accepting the strangeness of other species. The leader here, she was probably insulted by the question all the same. Something starting with a 'V' was written here, before it was scratched out and an enthusiastic student put in 'SPACE FAIRY'. That has itself been cleanly erased and filled in with the current text, 'Vasoril'. The students were mostly human, with the exception of their photoraptor.

    A courtyard amphitheater, where tricks of the sound magnify the voice of speaker and diminish those of the listeners. This is Age: "Gather round, students, this is a learning point. In the Veldt, and other True Worlds, time need not pass. In the Elder land, to travel north and south was to pass the days one way or another. Each latitude was held in eternal twilight, noon, or night. I have lived maybe twenty-one-thousand days, but they weren't all as long as the other."
    The mission statement aligns closely with Alignment: "Lawful, sensei." "And the law contains within it the sense of its own transgression. You have all cast aside much to come here." There is a considerable disdain for illegitimate authority, for tyrants. The Law is the main thing that separates them from the miserable traitors who lost Terra to the humans. That and maintaining their original forms. Good and evil are considered unimportant. The pattern is what matters. The Fae vasoril do not keep slaves as the Earthly fae do, but they are not kind. They are not warm.

    A tree grows this field and over it. It is such trouble to begin from first principles. Let nature help.
    Power Rating: "When we first came here, in combat, I am an E, maybe E+, depending how much you fear my teeth. I didn't even have a Sword. But I did have Logru." "And I am a B." "But we're all bound by the will of the heirophants. Could we ever unleash our full power here?" "When our outpost was attacked, I didn't fight back. I fled. I was content to lose conflicts of the Sword even as I won others. I lived in a civilized place where no enlightened being would inflict the true death on another, and no mortal could. But now I'm somewhere else, somewhere barbaric. Since the chimera incident, I've had to learn to fight. Now, maybe a C.
    Logru, the photoraptor. The generalissimo. He builds a home near the power rating field. They call it a Sword, but physically, it's a mace. A scepter, even. Symbol of authority. Composed of crystal. It's grown since it was a prop in someone else's story. He has taken inspiration from Frysglon, and let the ice into his heart. Never again will he fear withering away in the cold like his kin. Frosty. So much, to him, is just business. He can barely bring himself to weep and rejoice in his safety at last. That is not their way.
    Description: Something like, but not exactly like, this. Take a lioness. Very long neck, little horns. Like a giraffe. A pair of tentacles on the shoulders, like a displacer beast. Thin and clever, not like a displace beast's hooked tearing pads. "You know, we're not actually an evolution of leonids. The common ancestry is several branches back..." She walks away with a sigh.
    Ophelia Graham understands. She does not plan to leave their original body, but isn't Logru. Of all the students, she probably has the best claim to follow in the same profession. But she can't get too close yet. She became a renegade, without any Racial Charity.
    Personality: Someone, in a low rumbly voice, starts to sing the Bureacrat Song, and where once they would be stared back into silence, now people sing along and laugh. These are friends, after all they've been through. "We do what we have to do. We know what we are and we aren't here to make people feel better. We're here to make people better. All minds. All lose something in joining society. Are you getting your worth?" Limited ability to empathize, is what it is. Rational. Which can never be a fault, except where its means are applied to false ends, as, admittedly, they often are for drama's sake. Time folds, bends. Unseen, eloquence grows.

    Equipment: "Not going to lie, we're real short on gear. Especially after the failed raid."
    "Logru, put together a trip into those Hunting Grounds! ... take the hair clip."
    He will. The hair clip used to be his comrade. They...folded isn't the right word. In some ways, they're already at the end of the road. They couldn't take it. Now they're a hair clip. A damn nice hair clip. He doesn't even have hair. Smooth as the wind.

    "We have means, people, even if we don't apply them much."
    "I'm applying them!" Yone Reyezuela Reindhez Gonzales, the penguin-hunter girl, speaks up, no real bitterness in her voice. To be another giraffe-cat. The wonderworker, forger of Charities into Artifacts. She is precious to this little studio. Likes organizing and staying in touch with people and ribbons.

    Yam Yamson is talking about Abilities: Considerable reality warping is the main one. But it can only be applied in narrow ways. Like gifts! That some people happen to mistinterpret as curses. Poor silly things. He's always speculating. He doesn't even need a body, at least, he says he doesn't. Still got one for now, but just think! Listen to him tell you all he'll do once he doesn't. Yam hasn't made much progress, but he's still talking a good fight. There used to be another guy, not quite Yam's rival. He didn't give up his name easily. He was in it for the Abilities:, you can be sure. He didn't make it. Destroyed himself reaching too far. Right, where were we? Ah, yes. Their powers come from applying Grammar. Possession of Charities allows one to reshape the world according to the philosophy and themes that it embodies. A Sword, such as Logru has, governs violence and theft, and he often uses it to outnumber opponents, apply their armies, and sustain a champion. This can be crystallized into Artifacts, which don't rely on any grammar-work of their user. Even a mundane human could use them. The hairclip and the ribbons that Yone is so fond of are good examples. This artifact-shaping is the secret of the Outer Fae. Recently they learned that the Earthly Fae had a secret of their own, a means to force enlightenment.
    He is talking, of course, in the workshop. Yone's place, a location for study of the Charities. To forge them, evaluate them, test them.
    The Spindle is the Nexus. What does it do? Well...

    Backstory: "We are gathered here today to remember Katherine Whitsman. She didn't last long enough in their eyes to earn a place here. This is not an easy path. She didn't reach the end. But she walked it all the same, she died for us, and we will not forget her. Too many have already been forgotten."
    When the speech is over, no one feels the need to wash the touch of humans out of their fur.
    Everyone* finds their own place to stay. There is no thought of Reclamation. Everyone is happy here. Happy enough. The past lines up cleanly. They all came to learn, to become like their enlightened teacher. There was a raid, a play about revenge, where they attacked the one who had nearly killed the teacher. There was a migration, emigration, to a story they were turned away from. A dead place with no heirophant's touch. And now, they're here. It's not the best place. It certainly isn't a True World. But it's going to be home for now.

    *Everyone who's left.

    We interfered with the transportation systems. Stole a load of passengers. We were going to make a deal. Exploit the entry into the rainbow. It was unwilling to talk. She killed everyone. Truly killed them, unmade their souls. Some of us got into the Veldt and closed the portal. I didn't make it there in time. I took an emergency portal. No idea where it went. Here. The Nexus. One-way. I started, I found the discontent, the desperate, and I taught them.

    Among those who care about interplanetary politics (and let's be honest, most don't really) the primary school of rhetoric is those of the Reclaimers. The goal is to eventually invade Earth, wipe the humans and whatnot off the map, subvert the earthly fae infrastructure, and take back their home. The other big segment is the Unbroken, who hold that the Veldt is their home now, and they should interact with the rest of the Rainbowverse as little as possible; other races bring nothing but trouble. In a tiny corner are the Debutantes, who think they should stop hiding from the wider world completely, reveal grammar and their worlds to the other races, and try to live in peace. Attempting to make any of this happen is treason, but believing in it is, technically, permitted. There's tons of variations an religious fringe groups and what not, but we're going to focus on our protagonist here. The Bureaucat leans more Unbroken, but she took a job doing full-on Reclaimer work simply because it paid well. Consider what the fae might value. Ageless beings whose magical power is such that their physical needs can be satisfied by a simple act of will. Their own world, which generally suits them, flexible enough to mold to their designs.

    Description: 4'1" tall, weighs 137 pounds, has grey or steel eyes, light tan skin,a short beard, and long maroon hair. He often wears a chain mail suit with thin, plain, leather cloths underneath.

    Personality: Quick tempered and often hasty in jumping into a fight, even when his foe is much stronger than he. However, when he sees that he will not win, he will try to bluff in hopes of convincing the enemy to walk away.

    Equipment: A full body chain mail suit, a heavy warhammer, and a light crossbow are his goto equipment. However, he also has a steel shield strapped to his left shoulder (because he does what he wants and doesn't need your "social customs") that he will sometimes use, a backpack, some rope, and a couple of torches.

    Abilities: Thorin is completely fluent in common and Dwarvish, can use all armor and shields, simple and martial weapons, and has extensive survival and intimidation skills gained from his time in the army. He is also able to use a mount. His weaknesses are his pride, honor, hatred, and one-track mind. If he wants to clear a room, he will ignore the plan and do anything to accomplish his goal. He is ruthless and will only stop if his situation is obviously significantly against him, and sometimes not even then will he give up. Thorin also has far below average intelligence and wisdom.

    Backstory: Served as the cavalry in the dwarven capitol's army, and was known as one of the toughest. With his so far unmatched physical strength, he rose up in the ranks, then suffered an untimely concussion when he was hit by a drawbridge while standing too close to the edge. The army recovered his unconscious body from it's position between the ground and the drawbridge. Thorin was told when he awoke that due to the injury, he was temporarily suspended from service, but he was able to still retain his rank. While in the army, he gained advanced survival and intimidation skills, as well as the ability to use a mount. Humiliated, he decided to be a travelling adventurer in hopes of restoring his honor.

    Miscellaneous: He is often able to intimidate foes who could easily kill him. His intimidation tactics are to simply tell his foe very quietly and calmly that they do not want to know what will happen to them, much in the way Sans from Undertale does.

    Description: Imagine, if you will, a lithe lass with lightly tanned skin. She's no less than a head shorter than you are, but despite her tiny stature, it is immediately apparent that she's as fit as a fiddle (toned, not muscly). Her eyes are inky black ravines raked into a field of Evening Primrose. Her subdued orange ears, afloat in a sea of black silk, pivot toward you a fraction of a degree as she, ensconced within a cloud of smoke, silently appraises you. A smile tugs at the corners of her ruddy lips as she takes a drag on the cigarette pressed between until all that remains of the glowing stick is a lifeless stump. Seductively, she rubs the cigarette into an ashtray to her left, a single claw extending from the tip of her index finger as she does so, and exhales. As if she was a great dragon, smoke billows out of her incisive maw and rolls over her (button) nose. Without a word she turns away, her striped black and orange tail idly dangling behind her as she leans over the counter to order a drink.

    Costume: In her off hours, Misty wears a solid white camisole, jeans, and black-and-white checkered sneakers. When she goes on duty, Misty dons a clean white jumpsuit (a la Ghostbusters) and steel-toed black workboots. Unless stated otherwise, Misty's hair is bundled into a ponytail.

    Abilities: Catlike Reflexes (Agile; Proficient at Landing on Her Feet); Catlike Senses (Enhanced Sense of Hearing and Smell; Low Light Vision); Toxin Resistant; Magical Individual

    Backstory: Misty had the misfortune of being the runt of her litter, by which I mean she was born small, frail, and sickly. Her parents did not have high hopes for her survival. Rather than waste their time and efforts on keeping Misty alive, Misty's parents, who were in the process of immigrating to Inside at the time, abandoned Misty before they grew attached to her, leaving her alone in the woods to die less than a week after she was born. That would have been the end of Misty if not for the druid Eum who discovered her nestled within a bed of Evening Primrose as he was collecting ingredients for one of his "world-famous" elixirs that evening. Without hesitation, Eum took Misty into his arms and returned to his community. The druids nursed Misty back to health and raised her without incident until her fifteenth birthday when she accidentally killed the eldest druid's favorite bird and several other rare animals he had tamed. Misty was banished from the community, so she, like her parents before her, packed up what little she owned and set out for the City of Inside. Nearly half of a year later, after countless trials and setbacks, Misty arrived in the City of Inside. She quickly gained employment with a pest control company that valued her willingness to put what the druids taught her to good use. Living in the city wasn't as easy as Misty had thought it would be. For the first few months, Misty felt as if she was always learning lessons the hard way - lessons like don't go outside at night and don't take a detour through the Red Zone for any reason. She enrolled herself in self-defense and firearms-training classes, even going so far as to found her neighborhood's neighborhood watch (which was more of a volunteer militia than a neighborhood watch, truth be told). Soon after, Misty realized that she was one of the best (if not the best) exterminator in the company's employ. In the same instant, it dawned on her that animals weren't the only creatures she could make money exterminating. Ghosts, demons, and, hell, even people could infest buildings, and if a building was infested, there was a good chance that somebody was willing to cough up oodles of money to be rid of the infestation. Misty resigned from the company some years ago and has been running Infestation Inc. ever since.
    Note: The management of Infestation Inc. has forbade the employees of Infestation Inc. (all one of them) from exterminating people. People are humanely extracted from target sites with traps and mild irritants. If you are looking for a more permanent solution to your infestation, please contact a mercenary company, the mafia, or a gaggle of hitmen.

    Class/Profession: Extremely handy with technology, able to repair and reprogram almost anything with the correct tools on hand. He's particularly skilled at the manipulation and use of nanites.
    Power Rating: D, however, he is a non-combatant and a coward, never one to fight.

    ZavÝ̈x's appearance is highly unusual, and it takes very little effort to notice that the figure certainly isn't human, not at all. His skin is deathly pale, and his eyes are pure white and seem to glow slightly. Small creases in his plastic skin further betray his synthetic nature. His left arm and leg seem even more unnatural than his facial feature, for the sections of the limbs just below the knee and elbow points appear to be made of thousands of tiny black machines, constantly moving about all at once like a school of incredibly organized fish. What's even stranger is that the limbs themselves don't even appear to be connected to their prospective joints, instead, the nanite-infused limbs hover just above small metal caps built into the man's elbow and knee, somehow supporting his weight without even touching him. Despite the android's perfectly crafted features and body shape, the technician's slouch and perpetual smile make him out to be a particularly bitter individual.

    ZavÝ̈x was never a particularly agreeable individual, but then, most Nanotechnician Androids were not. They didn't need to be after all, and as such, more time was spent focusing on other facets of the manufactured android's personality. Now that a hint of true emotional consciousness has developed within him as a side-effect of The Nexus and it's strange magics, ZavÝ̈x has developed a much more unique personality than other androids like him. As such, what was once simply being disagreeable has developed into being downright unpleasant at times. ZavÝ̈x is a thoroughly sarcastic, easily frustrated unit, very obviously out of his element and greatly annoyed due to it. His methods of coping with his new, highly unfortunate reality aren't exactly great, and he tends to be a bit of a downer, as well as being particularly quick to panic in any given situation, but he's not an evil man by any means. Despite his emotional imbalances, ZavÝ̈x remains much better off than he would have been if he hadn't ever crashed into the Nexus in the first place.

    Irritable.
    Easily Frustrated.
    Naturally Curious.

    ZavÝ̈x was constructed within the axiElect Industry Datavault, one of the largest android manufacturing facilities on Androffa, an incredibly technologically advanced planet far, far away from The Nexus. ZavÝ̈x was the first of his kind, built to serve aboard Androffan Spaceships during the long exploratory missions the technological planet organized. Though there are many like ZavÝ̈x, he is identical to his peers only in appearance. His creator, Heyatsu Masai, built ZavÝ̈x by hand, pouring his love and care into the incredibly complicated systems that would one day become ZavÝ̈x. After the android passed several inspections and successful personality tests, it became obvious that the particular kind of android that ZavÝ̈x was revolutionize the industry, for while his model of android was fairly cost-effective in creation, the special nanites infused within his physical chassis allowed the android to function far better than any other android that had come before him.

    For several years, Heyatsu kept ZavÝ̈x within AxiElect Industry as his own personal laboratory assistant. ZavÝ̈x loved his time here, enjoying the sensation of feeling special and unique despite their being so many made in his likeness. Unfortunately, this wouldn't last for much longer. Soon, new advances were made in the android construction industry, and soon enough, even ZavÝ̈x was replaced by a better, more functional, more attractive type of model android. ZavÝ̈x was a determined creature, and though he initially felt quite hurt after Heyatsu discarded and replaced him, the android still felt a deep sense of companionship with his creator.

    However, Heyatsu would not live for much longer after ZavÝ̈x was replaced. The old man passed away quietly, in his sleep, as all humans did on the technologically advanced planet. After all, there was no disease in Androffan, no war, no famine. His death hit ZavÝ̈x quite hard, and the android found himself questioning his own existence. The android's determination eventually drove the man to become a bit more emotionally stable despite the foreign feelings of loss that had been pulsing through him, and ZavÝ̈x soon found a job at a large, government owned company that sponsored expeditions beyond the stars.

    Though ZavÝ̈x didn't work quite as efficiently, internally, as other androids with their advanced systems, he had learned much from Heyatsu, and his expertise regarding the particular science of Nanotechnology earned him a place among the others. For ten years ZavÝ̈x worked for the company, serving as as a specialized Nanotechnician aboard exploratory vessels. His years of work were rather hard on him, and over his time spent working for the company, his patience for stupidity has rapidly deteriorated. ZavÝ̈x became especially well known as a particularly unpleasant person to work with, but his vast knowledge made him a valuable asset, so those in charge felt it necessary to simply put up with the android's rather disagreeable personality.

    During a particular mission wherein ZavÝ̈x and the crew of the LWSS Observer were to visit the miserable planet known within the Androffan Archives as "Azuran" and see whether or not the species on the planet had continued to progress since the last, disastrous visit to the planet, the ship sustained an unfortunately great deal of damage. The wormhole-generating machine used as propulsion within the scouting vessel malfunctioned, sending the vessel to an entirely different location than intend, The Nexus.

    As the ship crashed into the atmosphere, the LWSS Observer's systems began to fail, and though the crew fought bravely to keep the ship fully functional, the vessel eventually went down over a small forest near what's known as GLoG. Most of the ship rapidly deteriorated upon entering the atmosphere, but a small chunk of the ship made it to the ground. ZavÝ̈x was especially luckily, somehow surviving the crash but losing a large section of the left side of his body in the process. The android wasn't one to give up however, and managed to clear his mind quickly enough to reach the surviving piece of the Medical Bay before too much fluid left his body. Once the wounds had been closed, the android began the hurried process of replacing his two lost limbs with whatever spare parts he could find lying about. After having to undergo the unpleasant task of removing nanites from the corpses of several android crewmembers, ZavÝ̈x finally acquired enough parts to put himself back together, mostly.

    With a new set of somewhat clumsy nanite limbs, the android scrounged up what technological items he could find among the wreckage.

    A tall, incredibly pale figure stands in the middle of what may have one been a peaceful, serene glad in the middle of a small, earthen forest. Now, a large, flaming crater seems to have hollowed out the center of the forest, the self-contained ecosystem having been obliterated by whatever artificial entity crashed down, creating the great pit in the first place. Chunks of hyperoglaucite hull hang precariously in trees, or stick out of the blasted earth like jagged shards of glass, while in the middle of the deep crater, a massive structure can be seen. The smoking, charred edifice sparkles in the sunlight, and the spaceships' dented and heavily damaged chrome outer walls seem to give off some kind of artificial luminescence. The figure moves in a delicate, almost ethereal fashion, it's body the epitome of anatomical perfection. At least, from the right. The entity's left side appears to be much different from it's right, each limb towards the left seeming to constantly remain in motion, as if the limbs were made of some kind of liquid vaguely held together in the shape of a human appendage.

    The alien presence traces the circuitboard patterns along the sides of the extraterrestrial vessel, the small markings seeming to glow faintly with blue light as the figure does so. The light persists for half a minute before fading and fizzling out, sparks flying as the structure shivers and quakes. The entire site was momentarily unstable. The creature steps back, before begging to speak, the entity's cold, unemotional voice echoing in an unusual fashion, it's voice seeming to reverberate with every perfectly phrased word uttered from the entity's frigid, perfectly shaped artificial lips.

    "Unacceptable. This is entirely unacceptable."

    The entity raises it's right arm upwards before swiping across a small section of the limb, seeming to activate some kind of integrated recording device. The alien speaks once more to the recorder, an incredibly annoyed expression on it's face. "Testing, testing, yes, excellent. At least something functional still operates within it's system's defined parameters." After a second, the figure sighs deeply, before poking at a small circular indentation in the palm of it's more natural-looking hand, causing a small holographic model of the now quite heavily damaged spacecraft to appear. The alien swipes along the model, zooming in and comparing the fully intact hologram with the battered spaceship before it. It speaks once more into it's arm. "This is Unit ID No: 67429-K, Delta Sector 14264-X, Model-Alpha13 NanoTechnician Android "ZavÝ̈x", of the LWSS Observer reporting in. I require immediate assistance, I repeat, I require immediate assistance. At precisely..." ZavÝ̈x taps at another small section of his more physical-seeming arm, frowning deeply as the holographic timekeeper device built into his arm appears unresponsive.

    "Hm. I am currently incapable of determining what time the accident occurred, however, it appears to have only been several hours since the LWSS Observer entered Golarion's atmosphere, which implies that my systems may have been temporarily shut down for immediate repairs somewhere after the LWSS Observer crashed into this... abnormal biome." He takes a closer look at the holographic image of the ship, before adjusting the technological lenses of his Next Generation Veemod Sensory Goggles. "The ship remains heavily damaged after weathering the atmosphere, and will require extensive repairs with materials I do not currently possess, which is thoroughly regrettable, as I doubt this miserable little blue orb contains half of the materials I'll need. Substitutions will need to be made. In addition to the physical damage done to the vessel, my scans have picked up several far more... frustrating complications that will need to be addressed. It appears that I will need to re-modulate the electromagnetic plating, and I have been detecting an unusual nanowave signature in the multi-spacial warp accelerator, which may very likely be due to the electrical invariance within the axionic impulse infuser that I looked over earlier."

    "It seems obvious that I will not find what I need here, and as such will go about finding my way to the closest 'civilized' holding, in the hopes that communications may be initiated with the locals."
    The android swipes the holographic model of the ship away, now pulling up a holographic passage written in Androffan, accompanied by a small model of whatever planet he'd been intending to find. "The LWSS Observer's logbooks provide little information on this annoying planet, most unfortunate."

    "I will attempt to ascertain whether or not the LWSS Observer can truly be repaired after I attempt to meet with the creatures who live here willingly for whatever reason. With any luck, these reports are going through, and I am not, in fact, simply talking to my arm. More reports to come, ZavÝ̈x.

    With that, the android begins his walk towards civilization, his exhausted body growing closer and closer to a forced shutdown as he expends energy.

On his adventures, he has made many friends who have followed him, most to their doom. As a result, Steve is haunted with the memories of his dead comrades. When adventuring alone, he discovered a portal to the nexus.

    Personality: Is for most intents and purposes completely average. If not for his kitsune father's ahh... 'lascivious' habits, he'd likely be like any young man who left a tiny village to become a priest in service of his favored deity. Is somewhat more prone to being playfully deceptive than most of his peers back home, though by kitsune standards he'd be quite tame, :D. When he's not busy with his duties, he prefers to study the lore of his goddess, and deepen his own understanding of the order as a whole.

    Equipment: A fine, ceramic vulpine mask, the only memento he has of his father, who left his mother before he was even born. Carries no weapons of any kind, though as a practicing calligraphist he carries a small collection of inks he created himself, and several small scrolls. He comes from a fairly poor family, so he has little to nothing else to his name, and in fact, only has clothing as nice as he does because he made it himself, including time spent dying it.

    Abilities: Given that he comes from a very middle-ages type of small village, his ability to read and write could be considered quite something, since he currently lacks even his first tail, he has none of the racial abilities that kitsune normally get, and has no martial training of any sort.

    Backstory: Was sent to the temple of Inari to learn more of his people, and be with individuals who wouldn't look down on him for his vulpine features. Has yet to go through the Rites of the Fox, which will mark him as a fully grown individual of his people.

    Bloom is a tall birdgirl priestess-in-training. She travels by spaceship and her weapon is its 460mm cannon.

    Age: Bloom looks to be about 18. She's looked that way for a while, and it'll be decades before she seems any older. Universitariat Assistants grow quickly to maturity, then age slowly. As Istubeal said, "The first feathered assistant I grew lived for one hundred and ten years before her heart gave out. I think I have corrected that flaw..." ((Has been out of her pod since April 22, 2015))
    Alignment: Blue, Neutral Good. Everyone should strive to be good, whether they follow the playful fox or the stern moon. She has a bit of a lawful bent, equating wrongdoing most with dereliction of duty and breaking your word...but there are times for all things.

    Power Rating: D- or 2. Bloom has some magical powers but is no real danger unless at the controls of a complex aircraft.
    Description: Bloom has a sharp face, a hawk's orange eyes, and a crest of bright green feathers where a normal human might have a head of hair. Less vibrant feathers in speckled grey and green cover most of her golden skin. 6'9" tall, of solid build.
    Personality: Curious and idealistic. Nice enough, but greedy if she thinks she can get away with it. Prone to using strange metaphors.
    Equipment: A backpack. A radio. A little glazed clay jug. Wearing a light blue robe with a light blue sash and a metal necklace depicting a fox head on one side and a stalk of rice on the other.
    Abilities: Weak holy magic. Feeding the hungry, but not parting the seas or raising the dead.
    She can always: Pour out endless water from her jug, make a ball of foxfire appear to light the way, and stop someone from bleeding to death.
    She can occasionally: Heal the injured, hold someone in place, make plants sprout up to grow around someone, create a bit of food and drink, and summon a fox-spirit from the celestial realms to help.
    Backstory: Once, the Mote rescued the crew of a vessel that was cast adrift. The lost captain, Flesh-Wizard Istubeul, bestowed a number of gifts upon his rescuers. One of those was an egg that hatched into Bloom. Born and raised in the Ways, she came down to earth to join the clergy of Inari, as the Mote's home port is a rice-farming nation, and the clever, quick-growing bird girl was judged to be the best neutral party to take the position.

    Motioning the bivalve/arthropod forward, Istubael opens the shell by gently stroking the edge and looks inside. There's several visible compartments, though only one is actually open at present- the rest are behind puckered sphincter muscles. "I have... Three assistants, two with the chlorophyll adaptation and one with feathers. Two bodyguards, with thick armour plating, powerful muscles and monomolecular claws. I'm keeping one of those. Two crustaceapods, like this one. Five venom-worms for personal defence. One cat with heat-sensing pits, ideal for hunting down space-vermin, and a riding tortoise. And yes, organic radio. Like the one I used to communicate with you en route. True telepathy we have yet to achieve, though the Spiritualists claim it is possible, and that they have achieved it with their mentalist programmes and neurological enlightenment- whatever that means." Istubael is trying to ignore the fact that the only thing protecting him from naked space is dead metal. Quite how the Technocracy trusts themselves to travel in space within dead machinery is beyond him. His servant girls, being members of a cloned slave-caste, know only what Istubael has taught them.

    If the life-pods are retrieved, since they have no on-board steering mechanisms of their own, once they detect a breathable atmosphere they burst, leaving behind the Flesh Wizard; he's as described, quite handsome, and wearing long, red silk robes with deep pockets filled with tools made from bone, leather and wood, no metal or stone. He looks to be in his mid-twenties. His two servants are very different; one is green-skinned, short and slender, with red eyes and white hair, wearing a simple cotton dress made from a single strip of material with a hole cut in the middle for the neck; she's bare up the sides, and it ends high on her legs. The other is just shorter than Istubael, naked besides thick orange fur growing from her head down her back, across her belly and halfway down her thighs. Her bare skin is deep orange, and her eyes are piercing yellow cat's eyes. Both look to be in their late teens, and resemble Istubael enough to point towards sharing some DNA. The other is non-humanoid, a big bivalve shell held opening-upwards on the back of a twelve-legged arthropod. A seperate head-section bears a pair of massive compound eyes and a pair of heavy mandibles. The first pair of legs end in complex manipulators resembling both human hands and spiders, with most fingers tapering to a fine point.

    At the moment, Flesh-Wizard, clone-servants and the walking repository of everything a genetic engineer needs to get themselves set up, is shivering and retching, adjusting to the trauma of awakening from emergency hibernation within a lifebuoy for three years. Istubael knows how long they drifted for, but it doesn't really matter. They're alive, and emergency hibernation is an efficient stasis-state so they haven't actually aged those three years.



    "The bioluminescense is easy. The symbiote will naturally bond with your epidermis. It will take some effort to learn how to control it, however. Do you have any patterns or colours in mind? The radio symbiote will need surgical implantation at the top of the spine, just below the skull. Does your vessel have a surgical room?" He reaches into the bivalve shell. "The feathered assistant will be female; that's how I prefer them, and I wrote their genetic code. She should reach physical maturity in three months. Mental maturity is reached in approximately a week. It needs to learn everything, but is smart and won't take long to teach. I've put the egg into the incubation chamber, it should hatch within the hour. Would you like her immediately upon hatching, or would you prefer to wait until tomorrow? In the incubation chamber, the crustaceapod will increase her growth and teach her how to walk, bypassing approximately a month's worth of natural growth, or three year's worth of growth for an unaltered human." Also going into the incubation chamber is a bodyguard egg.

    "I have not been trained in the specialised biology needed for a space-jump, and therefore do not know how to replicate the event that transported me here. So, here I shall remain. Does this station have an area that was grown, not built? I do not like all this dead metal and unfeeling machinery." The chances of being picked up in a lifebuoy at all after it has performed an emergency spacejump are incredibly small; lifebuoys don't have any sensory organs, and are limited to blind jumps in random directions. That's why they only do so if they feel immediately and gravely threatened.



    "Red and yellow I can do. I'm glad you didn't ask for green. How long will it take to secure a surgical chamber? She will live for a long time. We have increased the rate of growth until physical maturity, but then she will stabilise and age far slower.

Her face is adorned with jewelry, a slim gold chain connecting a ring on her nose to an elaborate golden earring on her right ear. Small gold ornaments hang off the chain, as well as rings on both brows and a stud under her lip, though her left ear remains free of jewelry. Kalya presents herself with a quiet, scholarly manner - her hazel eyes perpetually seeming deep in contemplation, and her bold features set into a poised, tranquil look.

    Kalya typically wears elaborate, though comfortable clothing, favoring brightly colored cloth jackets and wide trousers with soft shoes. That's no injunction against fancier attire, though. While Kalya prefers casual settings, she's equally comfortable in the formal atmospheres of academic and courtly ritual, and owns a varied wardrobe suited to any occasion.

    Personality:

    Calm, thoughtful, and collected, Kalya prides herself on a diplomatic nature and a clear-headed, rational approach to situations that emphasizes a reasoned consideration of multiple outcomes and frequent reflection, instead of impulsive or emotional decision making. While generally measured and calculating of speech, Kalya occasionally does allow her rebellious nature to get the better of her - a penchant for sass and a passive-aggressive streak a mile wide have caused many a humiliating moment for those caught against the sharp side of her tongue, though a shellacking too many has also earned her a reputation for being more than occasionally insufferable should her ego get the better of her.

    In addition to the specialized knowledge of the College of Necromancy, Kalya has a generalist's knowledge in some other fields of magic, like basic elemental sorcery, stone weaving, and weather manipulation, and other forms of nature magic practiced by the various craftsman-sorcerers of her home. Kalya's no elitist when it comes to useful magical skills, and is as well a quick study and deft talent at magical arts in general, though it's unlikely that she'd ever pick up any magical skill to the same depth and extent as her passion for necromancy.

    Besides her magical and mental talents, Kalya has a few sporting passions, being a strong swimmer and a skilled hockey and tennis player. She has some interest in martial arts, with some practice in unarmed and armed sport fighting, including traditional long-axe fighting, though she's by no means an accomplished duelist.

    Gear:

    Kalya's notable equipment includes several necromantic charms and devices, which she generally keeps in a cloth satchel that hangs at her hip. Chief among them is a crude looking mirror, carved out of mahogany wood, adorned with bits of shell and sea glass, with a face made out of dull, unpolished bronze. Despite the seeming roughness of the mirror, the dull face can change to become as polished and glassy as the surface of a clear lake, or dark and starry as a midnight sky, radiant as a sunrise, or multicolored and turbulent as a stormy ocean surface. The mirror is Kalya's main focus for spellcasting, acting as a window into the Shadelands from which Kalya draws her necromantic ability. Other necromanctic charms include a pair of heavily tarnished silver bells that don't ring in any tone audible to the living, incense, a notebook, and an electric flashlight.

    Backstory:

    Kalya is a gifted student at the College of Necromancy, in the city of Abhorson's Gate - an island city state founded by necromancers drawn to the teachings of Abhorson, an ancient dragon from aeons past. Though she herself comes from a noble family, heavily steeped in the arcane history of the city, Kalya was heavily discouraged by her parents and immediate family from pursuing necromancy, they preferring that she pursue a more modern profession such as medicine or law, starting an independent practice, and marrying an approved match of equal standing and success. Kalya's interest in the old arts was inspired and encouraged by the patriarch of her house, the ancient lich Arshan, who had remained at the family's head for centuries since the nascent days of the College and the city. Kalya's passion for the ancient arts was offset by her more socially progressive politics - the elites of Abhorson's Gate, while increasingly technocratic, remained conservative and restricting in regards to social relationships and political systems. Kalya chafed under the prudish norms expected by her family, and enforced by the tightly-knit circles of gossip that spread through the upper echelons of noble and college society. Publically, Kalya engaged the debate stage and tried to make inroads into the deadlock of College politics, while privately pursuing relationships that would have caused her to become ostracized and a social pariah among her class had they come to light.

    Given the offer to leave the city by Abhorson himself, Kalya eagerly chose to join VIGIL and see the outside world. She hopes that one day, when she returns home, she'll be able to use her experience to change her society (in her mind) for the better.

    This young human woman has stopped using any last name that isn't fake, and has half a dozen of those. Raised in a cult until she ran away at age 16, she was exposed to dark magic from her earliest days. That has left her with a few abilities, such as being able to change her appearance. Her hair can grow and change color at a thought. She is now 26, but could look like she was 21 or 36 with an hour or so of focus. She is just over five and a half feet, though she can shift that a little bit less then an inch either way.

    Cait will often claim being an accountant. She has worked as an accountant and continues to do so on a freelance basis. Most of her efforts are spent finding and fighting the cult she was raised in. One thing is clear she has access to large amounts of money, though how she gets that money isn't clear.

    Most of her adult life has been spent pretending to be someone she isn't. So she is often hard to read accurately since her life has depending on hiding her true feelings many times.

    She is a magician of several types. She has learned the dark magic of the cult she was raised in. Destructive and twisted magic that she uses only in dire circumstances or against the cult itself. She also has a smattering of other spells that she has pieced together over time.

    Personality: Leon can be best outwardly described as jovial, even in the face of extreme adversity he's the guy who will crack a joke, or make light of the situation even when it wouldn't be wholly appropriate and that extends to his day to day dealings as well. Always the guy to be there to lend a hand for small matters and more than willing to help out anyone for the right price. Leon's moral compass however, doesn't reflect his jovial and kind day to day mannerisms, he's a man who firmly believes in survival of the fittest, and that consumption and death are as much a part of life as birth and happiness are, though he doesn't actively pursue death dealing and believes that the laws of traditional society have lead humanity to the top of the food chain he isn't one to go on self righteous crusades or look to cause trouble for evil people just because they happen to be doing what they believe will make them happy unless they decide to try "punching up" the food chain at someone he considers connected to him or impact his daily life he doesn't mind people eating souls, drinking blood, whatever they feel like doing is okay so long as they don't try to take their jollies from him.

    Leon was a mercenary in his days as a normal person, started out in the military during the gulf war and spent his days in a fairly normal world going out and managing the conflict of the day in various countries for whomever would pay the highest price, a simple and humble beginning for what would follow after he became entangled with what came after. It turned out that Earth had a few people who were interested in exploring the realm of thought, where imagination and such could be made real, and he himself was one of those fascinated with the concept. Eventually ending up in the employ of a self proclaimed psychic he'd get directions to a research center where they were apparently breaking ground into alternate worlds, and making headway into the realm of dreams so Leon made it his personal mission to infiltrate. From there, he was surprisingly successful in his infiltration, ascending through the floors and defeating the various traps and men that barred his way until he suddenly found himself in an Acrid Basin, the barren wasteland around him featureless except for a tower that rose into view in front of him, and upon entering he would discover why it had been so easy for him to one man army his way in. Most of the researchers and men had been swallowed by an explosive growth of the dream realm that had brought them to this location, this.. literal Tower of Death the man at the peak claiming to offer a wish to the foolish mortals who had dared to intrude on his territory if they could reach the top and even went as far as to offer rewards for clearing the various small challenges that lead up to the top. This struck Leon as odd as the challenges weren't particular hard, that was until, Leon cleared the first floor and met the man who had churned so many before him into hunks of raw hamburger on a platform above a pit of acid, a man who wielded writhing razor wire as a weapon with a proficiency that put telekinesis to shame, able to block bullets and weighing in at a staggering 100 tons. The fight that followed was brutal, the man before him tanking the explosion of a flamethrower tank he pulled off one of the bodies, and even surviving being thrown into the pit of acid long enough to ram his arm down Leon's throat. That was the first time Leon "Died.", but he had bested the man and in spite of his imminent suffocation as the man's 5 ton arm gripped his esophagus he soon awoke in a crisp well, his injuries mended and a sign reading "Rest, ye wicked ones." above the door. It was then that Leon learned that death intended for people to die challenging his tower, and that for reasons he didn't know yet they were allowed to survive if they satisfied conditions in the rooms they conquered. However, the tower had considered him the true victor in that fight and he was rewarded with a bracelet which could store things inside it with a moment of contact and summon them back out again with a thought. Now, this was Leon's first encounter with "real" magic and thus he was astounded by the intricacies of it all, having come in here with little more than a hand gun, a shovel, and some rope he wasn't exactly mr.mage after all. Still, Leon's curiosity wouldn't just let him leave there, so he continued to ascend and eventually reached the top after facing that man two more times, each time obtaining a new and wondrous benefit. One time he was able to turn his shovel from a simple entrenching tool into a mutli function weapon that absorbed soul energy from the people it struck and could swing past external defenses to strike directly into their animating energies, and finally an infernal dictionary which for a man of Leon's capacities who had at best a college education was very helpful in translating several messages left around the place. As this went on however, he would collect various small trophies from the enemies in each room, and as he did so he would eventually come to a door that looked different from the others, a hatch that when opened would take him to somewhere new. Where he would meet a red haired man who wielded a rope dart who challenged him on the basis of believing him to be the man he had been fighting due to him wearing pieces of the equipment the man used. They fought on the bridge, Leon doing his best to parry and shoot but he was not a trained blade master, and it came down to him needing to once again use an explosive, but when it came time for it to detonate Leon tackled the man as he'd swing across using the combined entrenching tool and rope as a grappling hook and from there by saving him convince him of his positive intentions. There Leon spoke with the man and learned of his affinity for Shadow Magic due to his natural inclinations towards self interest and greedy as a mercenary was want to be. There he also learned that the man was the prince of what amounted to a dead race, and that his name was Scion, as he called himself now, a reminder of the fact that he was in fact guilty of bringing ruin to his own house thanks to the influence of the man he now hunted, and there he also showed Leon how to meld memories using the trinkets from varying monsters he fought into weapons that correlated with them, though not all things possessed such things.The first thing he taught him to use this with, was the leviathan dagger a watery blade that could slip past defenses and once imbued with the energies from a leviathan's scale it would gain the poisonous qualities of it's fangs. Thus, Leon continued upwards, only to find himself stepping into a twisted version of the dream the next time he went in. The world warped and deformed, the challenges also far more difficult as he would find his progress completely reset, yet in spite of the added challenge he'd remain undaunted, somehow triumphing over a massive fiery earthen golem that pursued him up a shaft filled with rising flames and from there defeating an invisible monster known as a gyrathal while having to contend with a ever accelerating conveyor belt under his feet, and between each room he came face to face with the challenges of Gods. First, The Goddess of Water challenged him, only for her to meet an untimely end at the hands of a chains sword Leon had plucked from a defeated enemy, then the challenge of the god of portals met his end as Leon destroyed his appendages before demolishing the core with an explosive, and as he ascended he finally came face to face with the man he couldn't beat. The embodiment of Primal Sin, however, in their fight he won the man's respect for as a man he had stood on the level of daemonkin and fledgling gods, and was thus accepted into the man's service. That is where Leon discovered his psychic potential, and under the tutelage of an Umbra daemon who furthered his study of shadow magic as well he proved himself in challenge after challenge until he finally imbued him with daemonic ichor he has begun to unlock it. However, the dream twists in mysterious ways and one such anomaly drew the attention of his erstwhile employer and seeing a chance to see his new employee prove himself he sent Leon to investigate it, and now he has come to the nexus on the bidding of his current employer, eager to see what this world has to offer.



    Abilities:

    Psychic Prodigy: To quantify it in simple terms, Leon is a psychic potential who's rarity can be described as 1 in 1.048576e+26, though he's still exploring it, it's safe to say that if he were to learn how to use it he'd have unlimited potential. The only problem is, that having unlimited potential doesn't make you any better at using it, so Leon can't even manage proper telekinesis outside of his Umbra Daemon transformation.

    Shadow Master: Leon is a master of umbra magic, and can manifest a number of trick things including a type of umbral fire he likes to call "Shadow Flare" though that's mostly due to him adoring the references he can make with it. Though he can also execute short bursts of rapid movement, and has even designed a pair of techniques especially designed for dodging and attacking at the same time, and fleeing as quick as possible. After all, better to live to fight another day, and if Leon has the choice he'd rather not fight fair with his opponents.

    Umbra Daemon Transformation: The intended use for the daemonic ichor in his form, entering this transformation allows him (For a period not to exceed 5 of his posts) to access a much higher level of psychic energy, though it seems as though he simply isn't a telekinetic the mental havoc he can dish out in this form is enough to break past even god tier mental defenses, though almost none of it is directly damaging he can use it to twist the form of things he focuses his gaze on inflicting them with a random probability based debuff that will function as if it's always been there and is only now flaring up, allowing it to ignore even outright immunities. L

    Glassheart Form: A special transformation due to the reaction of daemonic ichor with Leon's unique psychic physiology, a massive 12 ft tall form that Leon can't exactly control, and he functions only half the time while in it (Every other post he'll do something random I'll roll on a table.) however it's power makes the umbra daemons look like a joke, and it's preferred weapon happens to be the condensed core of a planet shaped into a entrenching tool. This form is every bit as taxing on top of only functioning half the time however, and also lasts at maximum 5 of his posts.

    Equipment:

    Soul Killer: An entrenching tool that absorbs anima from people it strikes and scythes through to strike directly at their soul, after 10 strikes on a normal person, 5 on an A rank, or 3 on an S it can release a massive blast of anima with such staggering force that it stops time for a second as it shatters the temporal barrier. Though simple in appearance, it's wise not to judge a book by it's cover.

    Shadow Mineral Armor: TO BE FILLED OUT.

    Sweetwater: Leon's pet name for his favorite smg, redesigned by the daemonic engineers it's a staggeringly rare combination of being a gauss SMG, each round is accelerated to .1 of C as it's fired out, delivering incredible penetration and damage at the cost of the barrel overheating after only a few bursts and the accuracy being pretty wild, but if Leon can get the barrel up against something, 100 rounds of pain coming their way has put down a god or two in the past.

    Power level: High B normally, A+ in Umbra Daemon form, ??? while in Glassheart form.

    Physical Description: Ven is tall and slender. Humanoid but clearly not human. Green skin that can provide her energy from sunlight. A long delicate neck, about 6 inches from chin to shoulder. At the base of her neck are two large air sacs similar to a colorful frog. Her eyes are about 1.5 times bigger than a humans and contain three colors around the iris, blue, orange, and gold. She has small ears that are mostly built into her head. She has short blond hair only a quarter of an inch at its longest. She is fairly tall standing around 5'10".

    Ven is from an alien world that was destroyed shortly after her birth. Her race were star faring so instead of being wiped out they found sanctuary on a nearby planet whose peaceful inhabitants welcomed them happily. The two races bonding over a shared interest in agriculture.

    Ven has traveled to the Nexus hoping her musical career could take off. She is a member of the band Reflex Inside Dysfunction.

    Class/Profession: Marlock should have been dead long ago when his brother Damon destroyed their home, their friends, their family and the entire city that they lived in. However instead of dying, Marlock woke up in the middle of the burnt ruins of his home and was spoken to by an old and ancient voice. The voice gave no indication of who they were, what they wanted or what they had planned. Marlock was simply bestowed with a gift to help him find and eliminate his brother. Marlock was gifted with the power of the great old ones and should death ever take hold of him whoever granted these powers simply sends him back starting at square one.

    Personality: Marlock was a kind and caring person once but the trauma he's been hurled through has damaged his mental state severely. He still tries to help those in need to the best of his ability but his methods of doing so are actually quite scary. Those who would kill the innocent are who Marlock hates the most and he shows them no mercy.

    Equipment: An ancient black tome that whispers in the minds of those who lay their eyes on it. On both sides are a pair of closed eyes that open when the book is in use and the pages on the inside appear blank to the untrained eye. Should anyone write in the empty pages of the book the text will disappear, then a red text will respond in a language the creature can understand long enough for them to read. This book is an artifact of power and can't be destroyed unless it is eaten by one of the Great Old Ones. It name, The Grimoire of the All-Seer.

    Appearance: A pale white tiefling with inverted eye color (where his whites are black and his pupils are white), short white hair, small nubby horns, shark like teeth and long tail. He stands about 5'10 and weighs 176 pounds. Marlock tends to wear a black coat, white shirt, black jeans with a chain belt.

    Description: Chrysoprase Vicereine is a thin, black-haired young lady with tanned skin that was already a little dark before the viridescent radiance of Hell's green sun tanned it further. She keeps her black hair short and will push it up out of her burning green eyes. She has little muscular bulk, but looking at her or squeezing one of her arms would reveal the tight, wiry muscular tone she carries. Her teeth are especially white and a bit sharp. Sporting scars from stray fragments of metal and particularly unpleasant flowers (as well as battles), she tends to leave her arms bare but for her heavy leather gloves when working. Even when not working she often wears a leather apron. Apart from that she tends toward simple, hard-wearing clothing with pocket space.
    When her anima is inflamed, a brand in the shape of eight spokes appears on her forehead and she glows with fiery green light. At its full iconic display, her anima forms into a mandala of many arms holding tools, all rotating in concentric layers.

    Abilities: Chryso is an incredibly talented craftswoman. She's good at sculpture and quite good at metalwork, but her favorite craft is in... flower arrangement. In any of her crafts, Chryso has various magical powers that allow her to work with amazing skill and frightening speed.
    Chryso is also a dangerously skilled combatant, especially with her daiklave (that is, a big ol' anime sword).

    Items: Chryso owns and wields a reaver daiklave of vitriolic brass, Little Sovereign; the chopping sword is about four feet long and acid-etched with flowing and savage script, its handle wrapped in what well may be human-skin leather and trailing streamers of red and green silk. A stone of white-veined black marble rests in the pommel of Little Sovereign.
    Chryso also owns a wide array of crafting tools of magical and mundane construction.

    Personality: Chryso is friendly and energetic, with natural curiosity and... not a lot of subtlety. Subterfuge and guarded words aren't her style at all; she tends to speak her mind all too readily. She doesn't like being interrupted when working, but is often eager to learn and experience what others have to offer---not just because she likes to see new things, but also because she recognizes the valuable opportunity for new inspiration. She's happy to make things for people, especially since she spends a good deal of time every day making small sculpture or metalworking pieces just to stay in practice.

    Abilities: Is skilled with technology and ancient forms of magic that were once thought to be lost.

    Items: Has some small tools built into her for the purposes of self repair and crafting but that's about it.

    Personality: Pawn is thinks purely based on logic and doesn't understand most mortal emotions. However her lack of understanding makes her extremely curious, especially since she has been deactivated for so long.

    Misc: Pawn is meant to be a simple character that who should fit into most rps. Basically i just want to build her backstory to fit any situation she is thrown in.

    Description: a well muscled, athletic man with battle scars covering a good percentage of his body. He has green tinted skin, Cesar cut black hair, decently sized orc canines and red eyes. He wears a black denim jacket, white shirt, blue jeans and carries a greatsword with a powerful magic surrounding it.

    Profession: Halt is a lone Mercanary/bounty hunter. He has no special powers other then the fact that he is incredibly strong from years of training, to the point where he rivals the strength of giants. He is also a great athlete and can outrun or outlast most people he is pursuing.

    Items: Halt's greatsword was blessed by the gods for his exemplary service in the fight against evil. He named his sword "Warden" as its purpose is to defend the weak and rally allies. The sword makes halt significantly stronger when he is angry and allows him to take any wounds that would be inflicted on who he considers allies. The more hurt he gets the stronger he gets, but once his rage ends he feels the weight of his wounds hit him ten fold being more painful then normal.

    Personality: Halt is a gruff fellow who is not afraid to charge into the heat of combat. While many takes this as him being careless and stupid, Halt is actually neither of these things. Yes he can be a brute at times but he has the mental capability to plan stuff out and actually prefers having a stuff organized to some extent. He has learned many different tactics to approach a situation such as sneaking, talking (usually intimidation) and if neither of those work then he just fights.

    Despite his rough exterior Halt knows how to have a good time and if you get on his good side he will open up to you. In fact one of his favorite jokes are actually pranks.

    Age: 5 technically but is 5'6 and doesn't look that young.

    Description: Anne was created in Skyside Tinker town by an actually rather successful scientist who used the parts from multiple different species. She has the head of a young girl with long, white, wavy hair but the eye of a dragon and demon with the teeth of a vampire. Her right arm is taken from dryad while her left was taken from an Inevitable, her legs are from a satyr, her body is just a bunch of parts stitched together to her female, has a long spiked tail from some sort of reptilian creature and devils wings. When she goes out she wears a maid uniform and collar that shows she is someones property.

    Abilities: Her wings work just fine and she is physically really strong and dexterous. She doesn't need to breath as she is animated by a strange device in her chest that looks like a heart but needs to be recharged after a few days. Anne also has three main appendages for attack, but they eat away at her animator charge fairly quickly and if used to excess she will deactivate.

    Dryad Arm (right): Her dryad arm is laced with poison and can be used to heal and create wards. It grow out rapidly to stab people at long range and also be used to swing herself from sturdy overhangs like a whip.

    Inevitable arm (Left): Her Inevitable arm is her more offensive arm with four different cannons to interchange from. First is a flamethrower with a decent range, second is a sonic disrupter which emits a high pitch frequency that can knocks out living targets that get to close, Third is a shock cannon which fires a single shocking burst similar to a lightning bolt, and finally a Cryo blaster which fires nitroglycerin in high quantities to freeze targets.

    Tail: Tail simply can fire spikes at long range that deliver poison and can be used to whip enemies as well.

    Personality: Anne is a shy and naive young girl. She is loyal to her master and carries out many different errands for him but isn't really evil herself as she is actually quite nice despite her somewhat ugly appearance. Anne is also to curious for her own good as she was created merely five years ago which sometimes get's her in trouble. She is also not a very smart girl.

    Abilities: A somewhat accomplished Psychic who is also a trained warrior, though she hasn't seen a whole lot of combat past a few skirmishes and those didn't end well.

    Personality: Tik-Tik was the runt of her egg clutch and is quite a klutz as she is clumsy and accident prone. Tik-Tik is much more high energy then most of her kind and is far more social, making her an oddity. She loves to cook and is actually quite good at it and hopes to one day own her own restaurant. She also has a 2 year old daughter named Ta-ki.

    Description: Cloud is a big, musclebound guy with taut dark skin covered in a veritable maze of scars, hair in cornrows, and a fair amount of red-and-gold jewelry, from rings, to ear studs, to little loops braided among his hair. A sprawling tattoo of a scorpion covers a lot of his torso. He is generally found wearing an elaborate priestly outfit: white robes, giant collar, golden cords, orange monastic scapular with an embroidered image of a scorpion lifting up the sun, silken prayer strips fluttering from his long sleeves, sashes and scarves and more. There's a halo around his head, a glowing ring of gold, exactly the color of his eyes.
    Personality: Cloud is generally a good person, but he is not a particularly nice person. He is direct, and stubborn, and mocking.
    He doesnít want to go back through where heís been.
    Equipment:
    Cloud drives a drill-tank that he took from some very unfriendly mole-people.

    The passenger compartment leads straight on to the driver's seat, and whilst the vessel's interior is designed for the short stature of the Diggers, there's plenty of unused room for spare equipment and several bags hang from hooks on the ceiling, alongside two spare Digger harpoon-guns, a length of spare chain, and a weapon similar to the harpoon-guns but without the chain; next to it are five short spears that look like they should fit.

    The vessel has a small screen showing a topographic map of the area around the subterranean tank, which also marks the hardness of the surrounding earth. To aid in surface steering, there's a pair of levers that brake one track each, much like a human-built tank's braking mechanism. There's a fair few other, miscellaneous buttons and switches, but they're all labelled. The Digger's script appears to use a non-Latin alphabet and none of the buttons are legible to those that can't speak the tongue, but the acceleration pedal and steering levers are pretty obvious.
    He carries an archaic wheellock pistol, a harpoon gun, and an enchanted silver sickle effective at cutting through armors.
    You can generally find a collection of miniature holy texts chained to his belt.

    One of the bags is filled with coal to fuel the mole-machine's furnace.
    Another contains three wheel-lock pistols, a smaller bag of pistol balls made of copper, four horns of gunpowder and a kit to make pistol balls from spare lead or other soft metals.
    A gold ingot, a bronze ingot, and three copper ingots, plus a bag of marble discs which the Diggers use as currency and a jade sculpture of a four-fingered hand. The final bag is filled with tins of food, all unmarked and produced by the Diggers; the tins are mostly mushroom soup, but two contain stewed rat meat. What Cloud finds rather depends on which bag he's looking through.


    The Diggers don't have magic of their own, so none of the items in the tank are enchanted, but the tank itself is surprisingly advanced in certain areas- the coal-fired engine is incredibly efficient, and they mass-produced wheel-lock pistols- humanity didn't do that.

    She also has a small bag of mixed coins, a silver amulet shaped like a skull with chips of jet set into the eyesockets.

    Abilities:
    Cloud's main thing is using his halo(s) in unlikely ways. Throwing it as a razor-sharp chakram, detonating it like a bomb, lassoing an escaping foe, riding it like a surfboard, etc.
    But he also has a wide variety of miraculous cleric powers.
    "He's not nearly on Message's level, though. He can't make clerics out of people, but perhaps he could empower one person as a Consort or Messenger if he felt very strongly about it." He doesn't.
    "A fiery halo. Heat, fire, light? He'll have to find out for himself what it means exactly, but at least his halo makes for a good divine symbol. Though it might behave a bit oddly now that it's special. It might become even more unruly than merely slipping down like it has, alive like the snakes on the Caduceus. Perhaps it'll merely glow, or turn on its side and become his own little sun-disc."
    Backstory:
    The boy who wasn't yet named Cloud grew up in a big, poor, noisy family in a mining village deep underground, on the shores of a subterranean sea. He didn't have a knack for much except getting into trouble. He dreamed of the day he could go off to the big city to find his fortune. Maybe even travel to the surface one day.
    ...
    In time, the boy got involved in a coffee-smuggling operation with ludicrous profit margins and even more ludicrous risks. After several circuits, by accident or sabotage, there was a colossal blast of light and the ship was reduced to matchsticks and scrap. A handful of survivors paddled a lifeboat desperately towards where they hoped the nearest shore was. Food ran low. Disliked coworkers went on the menu, followed shortly by friends. Two starving monsters that had once been smugglers made it ashore. The hunger had changed them. It would never quite leave. The cold, too, had changed them. They were not quite human anymore, in body or mind.

    So Cloud joined the church, and moved up quickly. His obvious usefulness combined with his seeming inability to tend to even a simple shrine led to a reorganization of the clergy's ranks, and he came to rest at the goddess's left hand, sent out to strike down the wicked, destroy their enemies, and blaze new paths.

    His friend Clara made a deal with the Season who had cursed him, and he was unexpectedly restored to his previous human form.
    Cloud asked the djinn Pat for power in order to make things easier on Leah and got more than he had hoped for, his mana now fueled by an eternal smokeless flame, and elevated to almost the heights of the deity he served.
    Pat snaps her fingers, and for a moment the colors of the world flicker and bend as energy both familiar and entirely alien flows into Cloud. And then he's himself again, only himself is not the same. His halo, held up from his own power. Tremendous skill with a punching ring, his own. A gamut of little divine spells and miracles, well, that's a part of him, too.
    Miscellaneous:

    Wake up in the morning, maybe itís a hotel bed, maybe itís the temp room of a shrine, maybe itís the back of the tank. Floss and brush your teeth straight away, thatís important. It wasnít easy as a monster but dental hygiene was even more important then. Stretch and do some light exercises. Wash up. Breakfast there. Get on the road. Heal the sick, preach happiness-in-the-moment, cut up zombies. Conjured lunch. Prayer. More of the morning stuff. Dinner somewhere. Socializing, go home with someone. Fall into sleep.

    Orcs have always been cut down by others. The gods abandon them, adventurers slay them by the dozen, and their warlords hearing the rage of their people, thinking only of revenge. Their prayers are not answered, what homes they can find among ruins, abandoned buildings and caves are attacked and ransacked. Despite their seeming ferocity to humanity they are a dying race, slowly losing numbers as time goes on with no chance given to rebuild or to cooperate with others without violence. Yet they still continue the fight, their pride as warriors unable to allow them to give up.

    Is it any wonder why they beseech the lower planes for help? No one else will give them any. This is the world in which Ensara the orc is born into. At age eighteen she is a young, up and coming warrior who is getting to the point where she can challenge her tribe's chief in combat for leadership. Ensara has seen how horrible this way of life is going and is determined to make sure that is changed.

    She has however recently found out that her current chief is trying to enter into a pact with a demon to try and secure her tribes safety....

    His primary business is to go Outside, drain an area of nature of all its life force, seal it into a crystal and sell it. He is very cautious about whom he sells it to, though.

Strawberry has six elongated fingers on each hand (two thumbs per hand) with webbing between them. Also has a large dorsal fin and two additional breathing holes in her sides, just below the rib cage. Usually wears a colorful wetsuit or a long sleeved loose fit dress, and a tight hijab with a flower pattern.
    On land, she rolls around in a standard wheelchair. Her voice sounds young and hoarse.

    Abilities:
    Smorre can shapeshift at will between a normal human form, his default furry-like form and his vicious big cat form. He has some experience in a great number of fields and skills, but is a master of none. When walking barefoot, his soft paws make no sound whatsoever.

    His particular weakness is gold (only the pure metal!), as he is mesmerized by it.

    Smorre is also a skilled businessman and has connections to the criminal underworld of Inside.

    Backstory:
    He came to the Nexus twelve years ago. Today, he resides in Hodgepodge Street, Inside.

    Miscellaneous:
    He has a lot of money.

    It pains him to see the working class suffer under wage slavery. Smorre's ultimate plan is to expand his trade and wholesale empire further and further, until he completely controls the flow of goods in Inside. Then he can force all other employers to raise their wages, because if they don't, Smorre will simply stop selling them wares and starve them to bankruptcy. ((He will never achieve this goal.))

    Description:
    Yna is short and has a very light build, making her roughly the size of an older child or young teenager. She has wings instead of arms, with a span of about 4m / 13ft, and her legs are bird-like and end in talons. Her skin is brown and her shoulder-length, black hair could use some shampoo and grooming. Yna is missing a few teeth, a prominent scar runs along her chin and lower lip, and her nose is crooked. There's a small tap embedded in her right upper arm (wing?), connected directly to a major artery.

    As for clothing, she wears short jeans, a tube top, and a cheap, lime-green poncho. The latter is sometimes worn inverted: the other side has a huge red cross painted on it as well as the word "healer", both on the front and on the back.

    Personality:

    Nothing special. A small notepad and pencils.

    Abilities:
    Yna's blood has magical restorative properties, the common method of application is via ingestion. The specific effects are based on the user's perception of self: injuries will almost always be mended, but if the the user is missing an arm for example, and has firmly accepted this as being part of themselves, the arm will not regenerate. Other effects may include: rejuvenation if the user sees themselves as younger than they actually are, weight loss if the user sees themselves as slimmer than they actually are, up to a complete change of sex and even species if the user sees themselves as being in the entirely wrong body. Yna is a walking, breathing healing potion, fountain of youth, and cosmetic surgeon all in one.

    She also has telekinetic powers, being able to move objects with her mind. She can lift a mass of about 10kg / 22lb and is very "dexterous" with this power, able to command very precise and quick movements. Yna has to see an object to move it.

    Yna broke a mirror once and is now cursed with improbably bad luck.

    Backstory:
    She was not born in the Nexus, but deliberately trafficked here.

    Miscellaneous:
    She has next to no money.

    She sells her blood on the streets for a very low price. Has no job or income otherwise.


    If I play anything that's not listed in here and speaks in bold black, it is an NPC.

    All my characters are suited (but not necessarily willing) for adventure and violence. None of them will backstab your characters without provocation.

    Power Rating: You wouldn't pick a fight with a poor blind girl, would you? B-, or 3, with a wild destructive power beyond her control.
    Description: Long fox ears (though not competing with those fennec folks) and short-cropped hair of a matching black shade. A particularly pointed nose. A fairly average figure. Two black-furred tails with a bit of white fur at the tip.
    An opaque metal visor of sliding panels and shutters that completely covers her eyes.
    Baggy, shapeless clothes in cooler colors.
    Personality: Honeysuckle is, first of all, a coward. But after that, she's playful, with a full sense of humor. She speaks boldly and isn't afraid to make demands.

    The good blindfold, made of green and secrets.
    A little darkly shining orb.
    Abilities:
    All-Seeing Eye of the Dragon - (partially active) Although unable to see shape or color, Honeysuckle has a sense that detects momentum.
    False Fox Light Shining From Heaven - Anything Honeysuckle looks at heats up, combusts, and is reduced to ash. The effect is concentrated at the focal point of her vision.
    Backstory:Honeysuckle's father was, most probably, a sort of fox-spirit. Honeysuckle's mother was, well, her race is not quite clear, but she was married to someone else entirely. When Honeysuckle was born, both relationships fell apart. Years later, her weary mother tricked her devil-fox-child, chained her up, and sold her to a slaver.
    For a while, she was used in an innovative electrical reactor. That, she'll tell you, wasn't so bad. But eventually the place was shut down in a mad science conflict.
    Thereafter she was owned by a collector (fox-things were a dime a dozen, but this one...) and rarely given the opportunity to see anything. Exhibits were treated poorly. In time his fortunes changed and the collection was sold off.
    The next buyer was insufficiently wary and was burned away, allowing Honeysuckle to escape to freedom.
    Eventually, she ended up at the Skullfort with other refugees.
    She went to see Mist alongside Todd and Riades. Was changed to help avoid unwanted attention. At the time, she couldn't imagine there being another kind. Then Todd broke free, and she ended up with the messenger-orb. It tried to do the same thing - take her over - but she put it in its place and did something to it.

    During the blood moon, she felt her orb calling her to open her eyes and look at the sky. She demolished a whole city block and feasted. In the morning, she had a second tail.

    Description: Always clad in green, battle scarred armor (that looks something like this). Is an angry, hate and anger filled man. Is known to be arrogant.
    Equipment: Many, many firearms and grenades. M4 Bayonet Knife with plasma edge, Heavy armor that can resist bullets up to .50 BMG rounds and can absorb up to 98% of a plasma bolt. A one man fighter spaceship. A small cruiser ship with cloaking.
    Abilities: Military training, augmented physical abilities, adept pilot.
    Weaknesses: No protection from magic. Known to be arrogant and inefficient.
    Backstory: No one knows exactly where Tier comes from, or where he even chose his name from. Although it is known that he comes from a future of our Earth. While no records of him are around, he will tell you that he has always been evil, despite how much philosophers and religious authorities may say that all begin good or something like that. He will also tell you that he started as a member of the 1st Response Squadron, a newly developed squad in the US Marine Corps that was made to be deployed anywhere, including space colonies. He eventually found his way into the Green Berets, where he claims that he betrayed his squad for a very large amount of money, although he will never specify how much. He will then tell you that he fled and joined the French Foreigner's Legion, as they promised to clear his name. After several missions, he deserted. An organization named Mirage, a military group recently formed by a group of Eastern European and Middle Eastern countries, who eventually ran the experiments on him that gave him his superhuman physical capabilities, hired him on for a very high price. He stole his armor from a German military research facility on their Mars colony, which he said there were no survivors. He then worked for several clients as a mercenary and assassin, completing over 500 operations from when he left the FFL. In East Asia, he became known as the "One Man Army" while in Africa, he became known as the "Green Demon."     Vax is a mature dim woman with african features. She's very tall and has a curvy figure. Her hair is a number of flat, green leaves that she occasionally tied back. Her skin is green, leaf textured plant matter and her eyes are pure black orbs. Her teeth are like pointed thorns. She wears minimal clothing, often just enough to get by.



    Personality:
    Vax often comes across as unfeeling, and even cruel. She cares little for anyone but those absolutely closest to her. She's fiercely ambitious and has very few morals. She has a great deal of pride and high expectations for herself, and she extends this to those who are associated with her.

    Abilities:
    Dreamer - Vax primarily has made pacts that allow her to manipulate dreams and bring dreams into reality. She conjures the impossible and twists perceptions with frightening ease. She'd just as soon as leaving you in pleasing bliss as she would sic your worst nightmares on you.

    Predatory - Dim are predators by nature. Though not effective over long distances, Vax is extremely quick in short bursts. All the better to get the drop on her prey and put her strength to use. Over time she's made a few pacts that only enhance these attributes.

    History:
    From the land of Elshar, Vax was like many dim. A lone hunter concerned with little but day to day survival. This often put her at odds with a few nearby villages, and one day she was actually captured by them, and was at risk of being killed. At least until a young woman, visiting the village Vax was captured outside of, took pity on her. Vax was freed and fled with this woman.

    The woman was named Zhareen. She was a young merfolk from a nearby community. Vax stayed with her for a time, largely because the girl was so easy to manipulate into bringing her food. However, and actual affection grew over time for this kinda, sweet woman. Vax convinced Zhareen to run away with her, and their life together began. Eventually they would join a sect of the Fourth Tower and rise through the ranks to both be respected warlocks.

    DESCRIPTION: Tall and willowy, it has been a long time since anyone has regarded Vesper Ololo as a ďLady.Ē The disfigured High Elf is covered in thick, velvety strips of cloth that cover every vestige of flesh and thus ultimately rendering the vampire genderless. She is tall, like most elves, sometimes donning Mage Armor or the occasional light armor from her latest conquests. Her eyes are the only part of her that show in their nakedness, the window within the head cloth revealing fiery brown eyes and a thirst for.. something unplaced. Making a point to hide her Nosferatu nature, she doesnít reveal herself when she feeds, for she would need to take off her facial cloth. Beneath it lies a horrendous mouth without a cheek, showing a set of white tangs and even a pink tongue to the open air. She is unable to speak without causing an airy whistle about her syllables, and prefers telepathic magics instead. Beneath her many layers is a body of scorched flesh. A victim of a seeming pointless crime, she has taken her identity to the Bladesingers and has etched upon her marred skin the tattoos of the Red Tiger, her fighting style. All of this full of mystery, or lack there of, for the average Vesper Ololo appears to be the typical loner type, with a stereotypical hood and masked bottom half of her face. [Feel inspired in her looks by Scorpion from the academic game of Mortal Combat or Sheik from LoZ.]

    PERSONALITY: Sardonic and quick witted, the monster of a High Elf has long lost her taste for such things as the glitter of the adventurerís life. She does not seek jewels or weapons, but rather power and knowledge. This has seeped into every aspect of her character, and while being a character once of high standing in Elfish nobility, she has long forgotten her place as a morally upright creature. She tends to look past the ugly and seek to find the true of creatures, much like dissecting a living thing. Her amusement are flippant but intense, sometimes leaving the High Elf years behind the rest of her company upon being absorbed in extensive projects or ventures.

    EQUIPMENT:
    Two silver lined scimitars, and a worn spell book at her hipó much older than the vampire herself.

    ABILITIES: A skilled swordswoman, she uses two scimitars to Ďblade singí in battle. The power makes her extremely fast and agile, able to strike fluidly and fatally to an enemy at close range. This blade song only lasts for a few minutes per rest, and all other times she must assume the role of an average glass wizard. As a vampire, she is able to turn to mist, and drink from her enemy to regain health.

    BACKSTORY: TLDR: A beautiful High Elf noble, destined to marry a handsome princeô, she was a victim of an evil sorcererís wrath. Being shunned by her family and fiance due to her newly scorched monstrous form, she sought the aid of a vampire to restore her disfigured body. Upon being sired, and realizing she had just made her defacement permanent, she traveled the world for a purpose, only to find it at home. The Bladesingers, a secret sect of golden elves that use the blade and magic as one, gave her training as one of their own, despite her scars and teeth. She is now a wanderer, and a student of the weave, looking for the next big thing to fixate upon.

    Appearance

    Simone is a human woman, with brown skin and straight black hair which is usually braided. She is thin and small, with bright attentive eyes, and an impish smile. Simone doesn't know her exact age, but she is probably around 19-23.

    History

    Simone's mother Evaya worked on the streets, telling fortunes and stealing when she could, but selling her body when she had no other options. She didn't know which of the men fathered Simone, but she did her best to take care of her child. But with another mouth to feed, she had to resort to prostitution more and more. She did her best to protect her daughter from such a life. When Simone was about 10, Evaya died after being beaten by one of the men who'd used her.

    After this, Simone lived on her wits, stealing, begging, running cons, and offering her services as a guide and translator to tourists. She relied on her speed and stealth to escape human predators, but was one time forced to stab a man who tried to molest her. She found out later that he died.

    Eventually, she became an agent for a God of Information named Helios, and along the way, she made her way to the Nexus. She considers Helios family, of a sort, though not a father figure of any sort. Helios's daughter Ambrosia, she thinks of as her foster sister.

    Lifestyle

    Though she has the money now to live more comfortably, Simone lives in the slums of Inside. She is a docent for the Bookbinder's Library of Inside, and has financed an expansion project for teaching literacy.

    Personality

    Simone's most prominent characteristics are her inquisitiveness, her cheerful extroversion, and her pride. Usually, if she shows any vulnerability, it is a calculated to manipulate the sympathy of others to her advantage. She believes that she's the only person she can rely on, and refuses to make herself dependent on others. However, she is friendly to everyone, and despite the hardship of her life, seems to have very little bitterness.
