    Personality: Although Leo is prone to irritability when he experiences any great measure of stress, he is otherwise an adventurous individual with a strong sense of morality. He's not the bravest or hardiest humanoid in existence, but his intellect and quick wit make him dangerous both on and off the battlefield.

    Background: In his universe of origin, Leo was tasked with protecting mankind from a 600-year-old evil sealed deep in the earth, known by most as "the Cosmic Terror". During one of his encounters with the embodiment of this calamitous evil, a psychotic sage by the name of Zeri Walch, Leo was utterly trounced and discarded into a rift in space-time. Upon awakening, he found himself trapped in a strange new world, one in which the laws of his universe were not entirely coherent. Knowing that he still had a mission to fulfill, Leo set out to find a way back to his world...

    Description: Henry is a tall, tan man of about 6' 3''. He is neither particularly fat nor thin, although he quite muscular. His dark blonde hair is of shoulder-length, and his face carries a quite noticeable stubble. His features are slightly jagged, and his eyes are a misty grey. Most of the time, he is dressed in a heavy, brown jacket and a pair of greyed out jeans. Over this, he wears an old, worn overcoat which is riddled with bulletholes and several tears in the fabric. Between these two layers of clothing, he also often carries a bandolier, which is stocked to the brim with a variety of revolvers and knives.


    Personality: Henry very much lives for the moment. He always is searching for new challenges or thrills, and loves to go up against even overwhelming odds. When interacting with others he is cheerful and easygoing, and even strangely effeminate at times. However, he also is rather impatient, and prefers actions to words. He generally doesn't think much before doing something, and is likely to ignore other people's wishes if he thinks he has a better idea.
    There are few things that can really scare him, even if this usually ends up being to his detriment. He rarely, if ever, backs down and even though he isn't all that bright about how he approaches his problems, he makes up for it with sheer enthusiasm.

    Description: Most of the time, Llyl appears to be a normal human, except that she has two thumbs on each hand. (The extra thumb is smaller, and located just below the standard digit.) She has brown hair and blue eyes. She looks somewhat younger than she actually is; the Tor clans mature slightly faster in mind than in body.
    Around the time of the full moon, it's easier for Llyl to change into her kallygn form. When exposed to the light of the full moon, it becomes extremely difficult to retain her human form. Her kallygn form looks like a cross between a chameleon and a canine. While it has the features of a chameleon, the body shape is more like that of a wolf.
    Equipment: She carries a long knife while in human form, but has no great skill with it. She also has a backpack she uses to carry her wares and a few tools. Finally, she has a small, waterproof bag containing a lightweight shift, a short strip of moon-silver, and a small amount of emergency gold, well-secreted. Whenever possible, she carries it while in kallygn form.
    Abilities: In human form, Llyn is a fair knife fighter. She is also a skilled glassworker; some of her merchandise includes spyglasses, magnifying glasses and so on. In kallygn form, her primary weapons are her teeth and claws. She cannot change color, except for turning a little lighter or darker green. She does have a long, sticky tongue. If she misses her target, however, it can be inconvenient, and takes about half a minute to suck back in and prepare to be relaunched. Her thick skin and agility make her hard to hit in this form.
    Backstory: Llyn comes from a different universe, and was accidentally drawn into the Nexus while traveling to a large city.

    The Tor Clans: In Llyl's home universe, there are a number of clans of werebeasts, such as the Tor Klyft, the Tor Gannysh, and the Tor Fallyn. Each transforms into a different beast when the moon is full. They are not vulnerable to normal silver, nor are they invulnerable to other materials. However, they are unable to change forms while in contact with a material called Sunnan-Llyft (moon-silver). It is, in fact, closer to steel than silver, but is particularly shiny. Contact with moon-silver causes blistering in only a minute or two- for humans as well as Tor. They also cannot turn others into were-beasts by biting them. In fact, they have little in common with classical werewolves, except for the bit where their transformation is affected by the moon.

    Description: Ririko is fairly tall... 6'4 or something of the sort. She has super long gray hair that she keeps half of in an oriental style and extremely elaborate up-do. She has fair skin, large eyes (that change color on a regular basis) and a fairly decent figure. When not in disguise, she wears yukata-style outfits in all shades of purple. When in disguise, she wears a blue ninja-type outfit, and a cloak to cover up her hair.
    Personality: Ririko is subject to personality changes at any time. Most of the time she is a happy-go-lucky free-to-live-as-she-pleases type girl who loves her pet spirit dog.
    Equipment: Chopsticks (in her hair) and lots of paper. She also carries a pouch in her obi that supplies her with anything she wants.
    Abilities: She uses paper to create beings to do her bidding. As an advanced shikigami user, she can also make the spirits in the paper posses certain creatures. She can also change her outward gender at will, and has a god (sortof) living in her prodigious amounts of hair. And she can world-hop, move from world to world whenever she chooses.
    Backstory: Ririko is a princess, who, when forced into an arrange marriage, ran away. Ending up in the Nexus, she decided that she enjoyed it, and stayed.

    Description: Typical Orkish appearance. Fairly big and bulky. Stands just under 8 feet and weighs in at around 360Lbs. Dark green skin. Yellow eyes. Completely hairless. Large head has pointed ears, a thick forehead, and large tusk-like teeth. Wears an assortment of strange piecemeal "clothes" all of which have a distinct Hippy vibe and function as simple armour. Often has a simple bucket-type helmet decorated accordingly. Wears big colourful glasses and hippy-bling (peace symbols, daisies, hearts)

    Personality: Strangely laid back considering he is from a Universe of perpetual war and a race that thrives on battle. Still loves to fight but may be willing to work with others if it leads to a greater peace. Which, to Vert, means more Dakka or a bigger Boom. As a member of the Wild Daisies clan his concepts of war and peace are a bit distorted, Peace is loud, flashy and violent, while War is full of politics and talking as well as fights for purpose of controlling other people. Values freedom above all else.
    Equipment: Armor, weapons, paint supplies*, clothes, and other devices. Plus anything he recently bodged together. Various Orkoid fungi.
    *Purdy Squiggles: Vert's pet squig. A rare variety of 'Paintbrush' squig. It absorbs the pigments of food it consumes and replicates the colour. Somehow it can also copy non-pigment based colours, such as the blue of butterfly wings. It can then excrete an oily-inky substance from the hair-like projections of its tail.

    Da big Shocka: A customized Shock Attack gun of Vert's own design. Like the usual variety this unusual weapon creates a tunnel of warp energy and forcibly teleports things on one end of the gun to wherever its pointed, ether on or in the target, results may vary. Vert's gun also includes two other features. It is able to create an ion/electron imbalance between the gun and the target, and then instantly correct this imbalance, ie Lightning. Can cause localized atmospheric disturbances, i.e. can make it rain over a small area.
    Kustom Field Generator+: This is a big klunky device used by Big Meks to provided extra protection to da boyz till they get up close. Vert's model looks like a diesel powered van de graaff generator. It can produce a number of protective barriers and other emissions, seemingly at random. This can range from electo-megnetic or force fields to smoke screens, teleport-blockers, reflective particle clouds, etc.

    Abilities:
    Waaagh Bodgin': able to turn scrap and other junk into, somehow, functional equipment such as guns, explosives and other peaceful things.
    Grot storm: Using specially engineered spores from orkoid mushrooms, Vert summons a bunch of snotlings, a diminutive imp-like race of orks. They can be ordered to complete a variety of simple tasks, but are usually used as ammo for the shock attack gun. Due to have accelerated metabolism caused by the altered fungi they only live for a few hours before exploding.

    Started as weak li'l meckboy 'prentice, killed mek boss, now is master mek of Da Big Flower Boss. Brotha was Dok. We'z lurnd bout Orky stuff. Vert 'ad to smack 'I'm when 'e try to operate on Vert's 'ead. Got Vert ta thinkin'. Lurned 'bout da green stuff an shroomies.
    Was 'avin a right peasful battle wit da Beekies, den boom, is landin' in a heap in some strange place filled wit weird-boy oomans, and lot of other odd folk.

    Vertbog personally doesn't know or care much about his past. According to Imperial data Orks reproduce asexually through spores which develop into fungi on the surface and the Orkoids, which include Orks, Gretchen(grots), snotlings, and squigs, grow below. They quite literally sprout up from the ground. Orks are 'born' with natural knowledge and skill but still learn as they age. Vert started as an apprentice to his clans head mechanic. After learning all he could, he then killed his teacher and became the head mechanic. Vert was close to another Ork that was around the same age and strength and considered him his brother. Vert's brother was an Ork doctor and rose through the ranks in a similar matter. Together they had studied Ork physiology and replication. He and his brother were considered very rare ork "scientists". Together they had made the clan very large and tough, developing improved ork cybernetics, stronger and louder weapons and powerful ork dreadnaughts. Things were going well until one day Vert woke up with his brother trying to operate on his head and inserting one of Vert's untested projects into his brain. He gave his brother a savage beating but didn't kill him. The partially damaged implant gave Vert an even bigger curious streak. Vert then spent his free time learning about Ork genetics and mushrooms. Orks actually have two separate genetic structures one is animal-like while the other is closer to that of algae. This is thought to be the reason Orks are green and have such high resistance to damage. Vert learned to manipulate the Orkoid fungi using his own blood.
    During a battle against the space marines Vert's shock attack gun misfired and instead giving the enemy a face full of angry grots, the Warp tunnel collapsed and imploded. The warp rift sucked in Vert and dropped him into the Nexus.

    Power Rating: A+

    Description: No New York, in his current host, is a human Caucasian of advancing years. He has a small stature and a slightly hunched, deflated posture. He looks like he's been through hell. At a rare glimpse of his eyes behind his glasses you'll find they're glazed, milky and bloodshot and seem to be staring into the distance regardless of what he's actually looking at. Large, heavy bags trace under his eyes and over his cheekbones. His face, in general, is worn and creased and seems to be held on to its skull by tape.

    No New York's hair is long, grey and frazzled as it flows out in jagged waves. His beard, though much shorter, is similarly colored. When he speaks his voice is gravelly and sounds as if he's straining against every word. His voice is mostly calm and monotone but has a vaguely threatening and malevolent edge to it. He speaks with a calm and casual authority and is similarly under animated. Even his combat style is understated and businesslike. What he lacks in physical attractiveness he makes up for with his powers of expression and commanding character.

    Equipment - General Attire: No New York's eyes are generally obscured behind impenetrably thick and dark tinted prince-nez glasses which he is rarely seen without. Over black pants and a black longsleeve shirt No New York's current host wears an extravagant and excessive white fur coat. It's a few sizes too large, it seems, and appears to swallow No New York's entire spindly frame into it. Poking out from under this monstrous robe are narrow-toed leather shoes of a stark black. Similarly black are his leather gloves, only the fingers of which appear out of the sleeves.

    Equipment - Equipment Slots:At the moment No New York only possesses the following three pieces of equipment. More may come in the future.

    • The Staff of New York (Left and Right Hands)
      Taken from one of the limbs of the tree of life, it was once called 'The Staff of Atlantis' and passed down by each of the sunken city's high priestesses. It has since been corrupted by No New York's dark magic and been renamed after its wielder.

      It appears to be just a very long branch of thick oak. As it was not "forged" in the technical sense it doesn't conform to any sort of design. It twists and juts at random and finally curls into a vague hook at the top. White ink spirals around it and glows vaguely when it channels magic. Painted by the Atlanteans it's edges are starting to taint black under No New York's influence.

      Though once a Druidic artifact it has been remade into a tool of the Arcane under the ownership of its new wielder. Though no more powerful than any other staff for seven of the magic schools it is a powerful artifact for conjuring and amplifies the effects and duration of summoning magic by a significant amount.
    • The Ark of Transcience (Accessories)
      A refractive lens of crystal worn around No New York's neck by a mundane silver chain. Like the staff it amplifies the effects of conjuration magic but also has distinct applications of its own. It's able to collect ambient, low level magic from its surroundings and store it. No New York can discharge it on a person and afford them extra uses of an expended spell. Because of its slow recharge rate this ability can only be sparingly used (once per week generally, though it differs depending on his exposure to environments with ambient magic energy)

      Looking through the lens reveals a "hypothetical present". The Ark shows, on the other side of its lens, an alternate version of present history where significant events were altered. This parallel Nexus is a terror filled dystopia under the thumb of some reclusive dictator. For example, one might look at a brick wall through the lens and it would reveal frayed and tattered propaganda posters that adorn it in this alternate present.

      Though he claims to have nothing to do with this universe No New York is ceaselessly fascinated by it. He seems motivated and persuaded by events that happen within it. But in what capacity he is not eager to reveal.
    • Leather Bound Diary (Accessories)
      A small, unassuming, leather bound book. About 150 pages, at a cursory glance. Pretty worn out, looks like it's been used a lot. The text within is cryptic and mostly appears to be poetic nonsense. Babbling and narratives by some articulate joker. Written in blue ball point pen. The front reads "No. [Blank] - NEW YORK" in faded embossed gold letters. Following "No." part of the title has been scratched out. The leather there is scarred and split. Other than that, though, it's just a leather bound dairy. Nothing fancy or special about it.

      It's also the greatest and most unnatural travesty in the known universe. There must never again be a book like this.

    Abilities: To be filled later (I've been writing this for far longer than I thought I would and I don't plan on using him right off the bat anyway)

    Backstory: No New York is the Earthly manifestation of predestination and recursion. He is not a 'he' so much as an it. A curiously unassuming leather bound book. Deep within the labored and poetic prose of its text is hidden the wisdom of the multiverse written, apparently, by someone who was there for the whole thing. The book has, twelve times now, survived the end of the time and re-emerged at its rebirth carrying with it the knowledge of the previous universe.

    Theoretically speaking, any wizard capable enough of decoding the text can predict every major event in the development of the Nexus as it has been written in past tense by the previous 'host'. It's accuracy, though hit and miss, makes the person who wields it capable of striking foreknowledge. As it inevitably falls into the hands of a high powered, unethical and ambitious wizard this foreknowledge has been exploited time and time again. With each exploitation the universe alters and shifts, struggling to sustain the changes made by these contradictions. First in subtle ways and then in significant ones. Such changes necessitated each host to acquire the Ark of Transcience to glimpse the previous universe and contrast with the alterations.

    Currently the book is being held by Dexter Schwartz, a pioneering conjurer. Like the past eleven hosts he has willingly surrendered his identity to the cause of the book's predictions. To help drive this point home has taken up the moniker "No New York", in tribute to it. Dexter Schwartz is, of course, merely a pawn of the book' now and his personal history is largely irrelevant, though he does provide a personality, a voice and face for it in this universe. Additionally it is the first host to specialize in summoning.

    The destruction of Atlantis is a significant moment in this incarnation's life, however. With the disappearance of Atlantis a pivotal moment in history, according to the texts, No New York set about correcting its continued existence by proactively conquering it himself. With his powers over the physical realm he contorted and warped the edges of the city so they would fold back in on itself. People crossing this threshold would then emerge on the other side of the city. With no way to the outside world Atlantis eventually withered away and died until only the age defying high priestess remained. She was dispatched, however, and No New York took possession of her staff.

    With her dying breath she recited a proverb that denied the notion of predestination. It suggested that No New York was not persevering through the end of time but, rather, that his blind devotion to seeing it through was the cause of its destruction. This was called 'The Proverb of the Great Wheel'. Disturbed by it No New York followed its origins back to the Nexus, where it is common folk knowledge with the intent of disproving and stamping it out as well as to propagandize the concept of destiny.

    Personality: She's timid, and shy. Most of the time. She has a fierce temper and she may just remember how to use some of her abilities if you tick her off.
    Equipment: Mostly just some seeds to various plants.
    Abilities: She doesn't remember how to use most of them.
    She seems to have a supernatural green thumb, getting plants to grow, when they darn well shouldn't be able to, and she has a supernatural connection to animals, able to befriend even the wildest of beasts. Most of the time. If her emotions are running high, plants and animals in the immediate area may react to help her.
    For weaknesses, she's terribly afraid of fire. If a fire burns a plant she's growns or an animal she's befriended, it hurts her as well.
    She also has a horribly irrational fear of heights. Yes, the girl with wings is afraid of heights. There's a reason for this.
    Backstory: Since she doesn't remember much, I won't say much. She has a vauge memory that she can only describe as the sky burning, and then nothing until she woke up, horribly confused in Outside.

    Desc: Nefila looks basically like a standard female Oohness; her lower half is a sort of rectangular hub sporting four spidery legs and four much smaller pedipalps and is armored in black chitinous material, while her upper half is humanoid with dark grey skin. Her hands are six-fingered, her hair long and black, her eyes large and glowing yellow, her teeth milk-white and needle-sharp.
    However, as a hive deserter, she has been marked: bands of dull yellow are tattooed on her limbs, and some lines and shapes in the same color on her torso.
    She wears a faded red top under a dark umber jacket that appears too big for her, with its sleeves partly covering her hands and its high collar covering her mouth when zipped all the way up.

    Equipment/Abilities: She has the standard abilities of her race and caste:
    • Able to cling to surfaces like a spider
    • Can produce web
    • Numbing venom through wrist-spurs
    • Venom-infused web disks
    • Limited telepathy and voice mimicry
    • Excellent vision in low light, limited darkvision

    Besides this, she is a decent illusionist and very proficient in the use of throwing-needles, which she can coat in her venom.

    Personality: As with most Oohness, she often acts shy and submissive, and at times is almost maddeningly polite. However, she is crafty and anything she does is just some maneuver to achieve what she wants.

This is a necessity caused by the transformative effects of his charms; only artifact-quality gear is able to withstand the stresses of being worn by him without being shredded into ribbons or burned to ash. He keeps a few shirts in his pocket space in the event of a “no shirt, no shoes” situation he can't avoid, but rarely wears them otherwise.

    Zhang Fei is an orphan from An-Teng in a modern shard of Creation who fell through the cracks of the adoption system as a child and spent most of his life on the streets of Ilankai. Blessed with godly heritage from his anonymous father, Zhang's natural charisma and fledgling supernatural powers attracted a group of street urchins to himself and he led them as a back-alley gang for most of his youth. Shortly into his twelfth year however his group fell on the wrong side of a local crime syndicate, an encounter that left Zhang with three bullet wounds and a score of dead friends.

    His wounds were treated by the master of a local martial arts dojo, an elderly man by the name of Jade Razor. Zhang's thirst for revenge was plain to see and his status as a god-blood offered him unique opportunities in the field of the terrestrial martial arts, opportunities which Master Razor offered to open to Zhang. Offered a sure-fire way to gain power to avenge his friends, Zhang jumped at the chance to be Razor's pupil.

    Zhang learned a great deal under his master's guidance, and not only martial arts; reading and writing, history and literature, many things which Zhang would have learned in school had he ever had the opportunity to attend were part of his curriculum, part of his master's plan to hone his mind into as much a weapon as his body. In this he was slightly less successful, if only because Zhang was a prodigy of the physical arts and not so much as a historian. Under Razor's guidance Zhang tamed his essence and bent it towards mastery of First Pulse, a brutal style of no-holds-barred street fighting. He mastered the style just before he turned eighteen, thrilling his master with his outrageous potential and rate of advancement. Shortly afterwards he bent his skills towards hunting down and annihilating the gangsters who had taken his friends from him.

    Contrary to the movie clichés, revenge tasted very sweet indeed. The ill-gotten gains Zhang secured in the raid on their headquarters were a very nice cherry on top.

    With his friends avenged and a few months more before legal adulthood, Zhang found himself at a loss as to what to do with himself next. Again, Razor appeared with a solution in the form of an Infernal Exaltation, revealing himself as an elder Infernal who had withdrawn from the Althing in retirement. Here then, was Zhang's reward for being the greatest pupil Jade Razor had ever possessed: the one and only exaltation ever marked by Isidoros, the Black Boar That Twists the Sky. And if passing it along without seeking approval from the Althing brought down the wrath of his peers on his head... well, that was their problem.

    And here also was the answer to Zhang's quandary: “Naked force is the beginning and end of all authority; there is no one who can challenge your power or your decisions under pretexts of morality, for their laws and morals are imposed on the world only through their power and their ability to wield power to enforce their decrees. Therefore, take this power and do with it whatever you will, and shape the universe to your whim.”

    That was how the legend of Zhang Fei began. Since then he's traveled up and down the coast of An-Teng, following through on a decision to rebuild his old gang. When he's not recruiting strong fighters to follow his lead, he's generally causing problems for the Lintha, the Infernal Conspiracy, and anyone else determined to get between him and the good life. That all changed very recently, when a confrontation with one of the Abyssal Exalted ended with Zhang Fei being dumped into the mysterious Well of Udr and appearing in the Nexus.

    Zhang Fei is about as pleasant as a person with his background can possibly be. Most of the time he is a cheery and good-humored young man with an excellent sense of humor, particularly towards himself. He takes jokes at his expense well unless he's in a truly terrible mood, a product of having spent much of his youth living with a crotchety old man with a fondness for deflating his ego and kicking his ass around a dojo. His ego hasn't been kicked out of him, however; Zhang is very much aware that he's a badass martial artist and he's not shy about letting people know it.

    His pleasant demeanor hides a darker side, however. Zhang has taken in the truths of power that accompany enlightenment in a setting without an objective morality. In Creation, power is ultimately the only thing that decides what is right and wrong – knowing this, Zhang has no compunctions about ignoring the law and taking what he wants from other people. If local law enforcement has a problem with that then they can haul their corrupt carcasses out of bed and try to do something about it.

    That being said, Zhang also doesn't take any personal satisfaction in causing harm; he loves a good fight, but he's not a sadist. He enjoys the company of beautiful women, but rape is beneath him. He revels in wealth, but money is for spending on things so he won't need to steal them (though he'll insist that it's not theft to take things from criminals). The exceptions are always those where he has been deliberately and outrageously provoked, such as the criminals who gunned down his friends as a child; in those cases, all bets are off.

    As an Isidorian Infernal with blessings of Malfeas, Zhang always performs at his best when taking the straightforward route, which matches his personality perfectly. He has ample appreciation for men and women with personal strength and much less for the likes of politicians and those who resort to manipulation or working through others. It should be noted that this is not a disdain for intelligence, but for an unwillingness to deal with one's problems in person.

    Zhang was forced to empty out his pocket dimension prior to entering the Nexus. As a result, all he has with him are the tainted orichalcon smashfists and boots he wears at all times plus a set of robe-like pants made of enchanted vitriolic silk. These artifacts are both indestructible and enchanted to change themselves to accommodate the wearer, such as when Zhang's mutation charms cause him to suddenly double or triple in size.

    Zhang Fei is a master martial artist trained in the art of the First Pulse, a brutal style of street fighting which emphasizes getting the first hit and never letting up until the other guy gives up. He is also a student of the Infernal Monster, a style which emphasizes brutality and channeled rage, though he has yet to master the style's esoteric techniques. Apart from his combat skills, he is also educated and versed in basic medical techniques for use in treating his own injuries. His status as an Infernal Exalt also gives him access to charms, demonic powers drawn from his yozi patrons.

    Personality: Dark and psychopathic. Enjoys being a vampire perhaps a little too much. Loves the thrill of the fight, the joy of killing.

    Equipment: Reworked power armour (in the picture above). Altered Nemesis Force Sword (powers now focused on humans). Storm shield.

    Abilities: High strength, speed and stamina, further enhanced by vampire powers. Psychic powers enhanced by Warp sorcerery. All the classic vampire abilities, plus Space Marine stuff like enhanced sight and hearing, suspended animation, resting half your brain separately to the other half and so on.

    Backstory: Ended up in the Nexus as the only survivor of a Grey Knights expedition to the Warp. Tried to get home, got injured by the spell, and ended up in the infirmary. As he was about to leave, Deadra Blackfire came in and, although he did his best to fight, beat him and turned him into a vampire.

    Occupation: Fangire King and cigar-parlor employee.

    Desc: In her human form, Seiner is a slender girl with eyes like black stones warmed on the beach and hair fading from blue to green like the ocean going from deep water to shore.
    Unlike the sea, though, she is not very graceful. In fact, she is accomplished at falling over all the time and generally looking very silly. She's cute though.
    In her true Fangire form, she keeps a humanoid frame... but is very different. She has a large jellyfish-like bell atop her head, dangling tentacles, and all over has a sort of stained glass appearance. Her colors are blue fading to green, like her hair in human form.
    Notably, in human form, she has the sigil of her rank, the Fangire King, on her tongue.

    Abilities: In human form, she's... well, she's durable, good at not getting too banged up from constantly tripping over her feet. She's also a really good swimmer. She can also levitate a little and manifest some of her tentacles.
    As a Fangire, she has full levitation and can move at high speed through water, and commands a host of tentacles. She can also manifest a sextet of floating fangs which can drain a being of life energy. Also, no clumsiness. Now that she is King, she has rather more power, including a blue-green energy known as Royal Fire.
    She knows a decent amount about cigars because she works in a cigar bar, one of the few places she manages not to fall over.

    Personality: Seiner is a sweet, clumsy girl... who is actually a stained-glass jellyfish vampire that drains the life of living beings. She loves spicy food, and can sense when someone has recently eaten something spicy... in fact, she is a lot more compelled to feed from such a person.
    Generally she tries to avoid feeding from people and just drains animals, because hurting people isn't something she enjoys.
    Seiner has recently taken on two new roles: on one hand, she is king (yes, king) of a race of stained-glass-like vampiric shapeshifters; on the other hand, she is also Riki's girlfriend. The former is perhaps more confusing to deal with than the latter.
    While the Fangire community in this part of the Nexus spent about half a century run by a Fangire Supremacist Queen, Seiner didn't join the community until quite recently. Combined with her nature in the first place, hers is a rather more peaceful policy.

    A relatively normal space marine, however harbors some curiosity and investigative tendencies more than his fellow battle-brothers, and he prefers to fight up close rather than from far away. He is however both confused and secretly afraid at finding himself far from the Imperium, amongst a place of diversity and acceptance and being unable to get back, he however tries to maintain as much honor and integrity as he can.

    Various other Space Marine abilities

    Return Immunity:
    He is immune to any and all effects that would return him to the Imperium for reasons he does not know, and he constantly searches for the answer of why he can't return, wishing to rejoin his battle-brothers. Even trying to get back by foot doesn't seem to work.

    Backstory:
    He does not remember how he got to Nexus, only that he remembered going on a mission to fight Orks before he woke up with no memory of how it turned out or how he got here. He is however afraid and trapped in a world he does not understand…one that is not eternal war, one that does not involve Chaos, or fighting incredibly dark battles of extermination. Nexus seems alien to him, and its only his curiosity and survival instinct that is keeping him from not killing everyone as xenos or heretics.

The only thing on him that stays the same no matter what he is shifted into is a simple tattoo in the outline of a rose on his right forearm. Normally, he wears a simple green tunic and well-fitting pants. While working with glass or fighting, he wears a leather chest protector. He will often appear as a duck with a rose on it's wing.
    Personality: He's a pretty easy going guy. Ever an optimist, he tries to make the best out of any situation. He is also firmly attached to beer, even if he does get drunk after one glass.
    Equipment: He carries a portable glass-blowing kit, as well as a pair of matching swords.
    Abilities: He's a typical shape-shifter, but he can't shift genders.
    Backstory: He doesn't have much of one. He was born in a quiet shifter community, learned his trade, and left at the age of 20 to travel. He just managed to somehow enter the Nexus.

    Desc:
    Zwei is slim and very toned, with mauve hair and violet eyes and tanned skin. She has a tendency toward purple, especially her flared jeans.

    Abilities/Equipment: Lots and lots of swords; her favorite is a talwar. She's a very agile, quick fighter with considerable strength and years' worth of skill.

    Personality: Zwei loves the art of swordplay, but resents her aristocratic family for bringing her up to hurt others and feels bad about being named after swords. She is a little... eccentric.
    On the darker side, since Ashley left, she's had some emotional issues; thinking about her and Kary's former fiancee brings on shakiness and cold sweats, she still has nightmares about it, and if she ever saw Ashley again she'd probably have a panic attack.

    Backstory: Born to a warlike aristocratic family, she was part of a feud with a rival family. It went horribly wrong when an attack was staged and people were killed in the attempt, including herself... who was promptly brought back as an undead. She left home, embittered with family and martial arts alike, and wandered for a while before meeting a pretty vampire...ish girl named Karyana. They fell in weird-lady love... and eventually met a nice girl named Ashley, and the love became a trio.
    And on the day of the wedding, Ashley bailed, not ready to make this commitment. It hurt deeply, and left her with emotional scars.
    After this, things got a bit better. They met Tsuna and drew her into their love, eventually having a child with her aid. Now a mother, Zwei has been working on growing more stable.

Only recently has this doctor decided that his subject has outlived his usefulness and left him to the will of the Nexus, branding him with the moniker "Shame". This should be the end of the story, but Shame's will to live brings him back from the brink; unwilling to either return to his home or seek revenge on his tormentor, he wanders the Nexus to seek a new purpose for his life.

    Personality: Shame is, fittingly enough for his name, humbled by the way he has been deformed and manipulated. Considering the events leading up to his mutation, he also has some serious trust issues. He was once compassionate and generous, but those virtues have been buried beneath depression and paranoia, and it will take quite a bit of time and effort to restore them.

    Description: Irena has quite short, golden blonde hair in a short pixie cut. Her face is oval in shape and rather feminine unlike most of her body. She has low brows and sea green eyes. Her skin quite tanned. Her lips are fairly thin and she has pointed ears.
    She’s about five feet and four inches tall and has a rather flat figure. She doesn't have much in the way of hips or breasts but isn’t completely flat either. Her curves just aren't very pronounced compared to most women. Overall she has a very lithe figure. Irena also has a tail. It's like a rat's tail and matches her skin color. It's prehensile and a bit longer than her legs, so if it was hanging limp it'd drag on the ground just a little.
    For clothes she has a grey hoodie with deep pockets that she favors. She doesn't wear it all the time, however. Her clothing is modern and tends towards the casual, but she does like to wear tighter pants.

    Personality: Irena isn't the most social of people; she has the tendency to push people she meets away. That's why she puts so much value into her and Nadia's marriage, as she is one the only person she ever have opened up fully too. Irena has a few other contacts here and there, but otherwise she doesn't have many friends.
    Otherwise she can come across as rather crass and fun-loving when she she feels like it. It depends what mood one catches her in. Her asocial tendencies have darker aspects, however, due to the rage she harbors, but it doesn't come up nearly as often as before.

    Equipment: Irena possesses a number of tomes of occultism she has actually written herself. No one but her would really understand these tomes, however, as she writes really poorly and just uses them as notebooks. Anyone else reading them would probably just be confused.

    Abilities: Irena has the ability to shadow jump, summon shadow objects, and is very knowledgeable in occultism. Some of these abilities takes a toll on her, so she tries to avoid using them all the time.
    She is also very good at using a number of weapons like guns and swords, and even has some martial arts training.

    Backstory: Irena's backstory is long and complicated. She awoke one day without any memories at all. And not just of her family, friends, and who she was; a complete mind wipe. She didn't even know words or how to count to two. She was found wandering around the woods and was brought to an insane asylum to be re-educated into the world (insane Asylums apparently still exists in Riverside).
    For years she stayed there, slowly learning skills people usually learn when they're born. Eventually she decided to escape the asylum and ended up living on the streets for a few years, dispensing vigilante justice as she saw fit, using the strange powers she somehow knew of even though she had forgotten everything else.

    The rest of her backstory is a bit hard to summarize here, but she eventually ended up married to Nadia, who she is currently living happily with in Suncrest manor in Riverside.

    Power Rating: According to most scales the Nexus uses Phil is between 3 and 8, depending on how you view him. His power is potentially vast, but doesn't do him much good as he can't control it.

    Description: 5'11" blond with a mullet. Wears white and tan robes with chaos resistance (an occupational necessity). He has internal pockets and a small backpack for his personal belongings. He has orange irises and a medium athletic build. He has what some would call a bug-eyed gaze and sometimes forgets to blink, so he often looks shocked or surprised even when he isn't.

    Personality: He picked chaos magic because he thought that the most powerful of the twelve magics would also be the most profitable. When he discovered this not to be the case he stuck with it anyway. He's now content to be a wandering bum who lives off of odd jobs and whatever food he can conjure up. He wants power, has it, but can't really control it. He believes in being the man behind the man and wants work as a mage adviser for someone in power.

    Equipment: A box of toothpicks. A couple dozen small throwing knives that he has no idea how to use. About half a pound of dried raisins. About a dozen pebbles. Water and extra space for just in case. He would absolutely love to have a bag of holding, if he finds out that they exist.

    Abilities/Backstory: Chaos magic! Comes in three grades, low, medium, and high. Low will generally change things from one substance to another and can be lethal to living things, if it hits them in the right places. It generally makes things less complex, turning them into goo of one element or another. Medium will generally maintain or increase complexity, but altered somehow. This can be useful for healing, if you don't mind suddenly sprouting feathers or something. Can change living things from one kind to another, though with next to no chance of controlling what something turns into. He can also focus on the category of an object- will transform into some kind of x, with x being animal, food, tool, weapon, person, etc. He can control for specific effects, objects, or events, but for every aspect he tries to control, another uncontrolled aspect will emerge. Sometimes more than one. High grade generally increases the complexity of the target and can imitate "epic" magic. It is dangerous and volatile and is known to summon angels, demons, and other beings or effects of unpredictable power. It is virtually guaranteed to produce the desired effect if focused, but the secondary effects can be disastrous. [chaos effects are taken from my game, Chaotica, but their results may vary even further due to the nature of the Nexus] Phil also is a competent cross country runner and messenger, skilled at desert survival (he grew up in one), and he served in the local militia until he was honorably discharged on the condition that he never discuss his time there.

    More Backstory: Graduated mage school at the top of his class, studied six of the twelve magics (balance (peace, trust, optimism, etc.), power (fear, anger, greed, etc.), necromancy, life, fate, and of course, chaos) but is competent only in chaos. He's fled his plane of origin looking for work, a new life, and a chance to work as an adviser to any kind of authority figure.

    Miscellaneous: Call me Phil. Some call me "that good for nothing layabout mage", but that is merely slander on my chosen work ethic. I believe in efficiency and not using more power than necessary to get a job done. I believe in speaking first and making things interesting only when I'm pretty sure that I won't make things worse. And I'm looking for work. If you need distractions, confusion, a messenger, pandemonium, or guaranteed surprises, I'm your man.

    Backstory: Tanar Aerdoth was a Pathfinder character born to an wealthy elven father and a human mother. He was raised by them in the town of Crying Leaf in Mierani Forest in the Inner Sea campaign setting. At a young age he began manifesting arcane powers; he even established a magical bond with the family cat. No one knew why he developed such powers; neither his mother's family, nor his father's family had a history of magic. Tanar's parents hired a tutor to train his magical skill. He was a good student and was fascinated by magical theory. He read any book on the subject that he could get his hands on. As he grew older he decided that he wanted to travel the world to discover more about the world of magic. So, he set off on his journey with 300gp given from his father. He intended to travel by ship to Magnamar. However, a portal opened up in the middle of the ocean, dropping it in the Nexus.

    Abilities: As one of the undead, Auranico is inexplicably strong and quick and has heightened senses when not in sunlight. As a vampire, she is pained and disoriented by light, depending on its intensity. She cannot cross running water, enter a residence uninvited, or confront a mirror or a holy symbol that is believed in, and is dependent on the blood of intelligent creatures to remain active and healthy. Auranico is also able to transform into nearly any creature she has observed, but cannot currently use this power.
    Backstory:
    A stricture not to eat of fruit led to discovering a portal out of her home and a career as an explorer. As any venture involving portals must, this eventually led her to the Nexus, already dead and risen. Her vampiric sire had been killed by her team before she awoke, and she found herself buried and with no one to help learn control. Leaving aside most of the things that have happened in the Nexus, Auranico eventually found herself in conflict with another line of vampires, who spared her, but took her memory. Since then, she has just been Number 99, apprentice. And then when Vann left, just 99.

    Power Rating: In his Silhouette body armor, I'd say C+. It's more defensive than anything - the hardlight shields on it could deflect plasma charges from a starship's cannons. That should tell you how concerned he is about his personal wellbeing.

    Description: Maxwell is a tall, slightly thin man of western European descent. His hair is a coarse blonde the color of wheat, which he likes to have cut short and stuck up. The man's pale, clean-shaven face is nothing short of beautiful, engineered to symmetrical perfection. Not a blemish or mismatched feature can be found. He's got a thousand dollar smile (quite literally) that can light up a room. His eyes are a glittering gold, nearly the color of his hair. His sideburns are cut long, and his jawline is set with a strong chin. The man almost seems to glow with nigh-divine charisma.

    The back of his head and neck, mostly below the hairline, is home to a steel-plated neural interface that connects to his Silhouette when he wishes to communicate. Behind his ear is a built-in communicator powerful enough to make calls from a world away.

    Personality:

    Negatives: Greedy, self-absorbed, vain, arrogant, obsessive, cruel. At his worst.

    Positives: Frugal, friendly, likes kids, genuinely enjoys helping people. It just comes second to greed.

    Equipment: On him, Maxwell usually carries a few platinum pieces or credsticks (valuing approximately a thousand gold pieces), some jewelry, an exceedingly rare antique silver-titanium Rolex, and a few personal affects. Typically he can be found wearing his Silhouette, the personal body-armor/neurotech suite available exclusively to high ranking members of Elexxion. With the armor over his head, it gives him the appearance of a faceless metal man with a plated steel skull. Outside sensors become his eyes in such a state, projecting holographic images on the inside of the helmet.

    Most importantly, he wears a shoulder holster fitted with an Elexxion Industries Mk. VII energy cannon.

    Abilities: Maxwell is a fairly skilled businessman and part-time geneticist, but an otherwise normal human being. Any powers he has are due to augmentations from the Elexxion corporation. He is genetically superior, and quite strong, but the remainder of his special abilities come from the Silhouette. It is well shielded, capable of extreme punishment on its own, and can in fact fly if the user deems it necessary.

    Miscellaneous: Works for the Elexxion Consortium as the Director of their Frontier Division.

    Step X: What is the villain’s race or class?
    Harley Zorzo is an Evil Shapeshifter – a shapeshifter so called because they can only turn into “evil” races, i.e. anything humanoid. This came from ancient philosophy that anything human is fallen and evil. They’re also naturally predisposed to rebelling against humanity, due to nurture.

    Step 1: Start with two emotions.
    1. Shame – Harley is a villain because she’s ashamed of what she’s done. In part, she also believes she has no choice in the matter, that she was born evil and has no ability to change that. Her experiences only reinforced this in her mind.
    2. The heroes should be able to feel that they can easily become villainous if they’re not careful. Harley is the type of villain that could easily be a hero if things turned out differently. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and she became a villain. They should feel that they, too, can easily become villains if they’re not careful.

    Step 2: What events in the villain’s past brought about this emotion?
    Harley, from birth, has wanted to be a hero, to be a holy knight like her father, Sir Zorzo. Unfortunately, as she was born an Evil Shapeshifter, her father found out that her mother was also an Evil Shapeshifter. So, her mother (_____ Martinez, who later became known as The Shadow Queen) locked him away and raised Harley. Harley went to her father’s Holy Order and became a holy knight, claiming to be her long-missing father’s daughter, which was totally true. Unfortunately, another knight was jealous of her strength and set a trap for her that would kill all her men in her squad. She foiled his plot, but had to use her Evil Shapeshifting powers to save them. So, he slandered her (because she’s of a race that’s discriminated against and is known for Evil), she was put on trial and found guilty of oathbreaking. Her half-sister helped her get out of the dungeon, and Harley became the head guardian of her mother’s newfound kingdom. Later, a raid by her old Holy Order, allied with several kingdoms, finally broke down the kingdom and The Shadow Queen’s family slipped out into the night, leaving Harley with feelings of shame for having betrayed her fellow guardians. Later, she became a travelling entertainer, started a revolution to bring equality to all Shapeshifting races (and played a huge role as a commander and an assassin), sought redemption, found a holy sword, felt redemption was impossible for her, and she returned to how she was before (only she avoided her mother, disagreeing with her mother and her half-sister.)
    So, she is ashamed of her inability to be Good as well as her past deeds.

    Step 3: What is the villain's scale?
    Originally, Harley was to be just a minor villain with heroic tendencies. (She is redeemable, by the way, though it will be difficult) However, surprisingly quickly, Harley became the leader of the largest villain group known to the Nexus – AMEN, the Association of the Malicious, Evil, and Nefarious. So, she just got upgraded quickly.

    Step 4: What is the villain's goal?
    Harley’s original goal was to simply go on with life. She felt she was incapable of being Evil, so she wanted to become, in her own right, Evil. She has this goal because she felt that, if she had simply never desired to be Good in the first place, she wouldn’t have any of the problems she had. Now, she still has that goal: to be Evil without going against her conscience. In addition, she wants to be able to protect her friends – fellow members of AMEN – and not let them down.

    Step 5: What does the villain need in order to be able to achieve this goal?
    Wow, this is a hard one. How does one become Evil without going against one’s own conscience? A big way to do this would be to continue as the leader of AMEN. Going out of her way to help them along with their schemes would also be helpful. Really, I don’t know exactly what to put here. Do villainous things without being outright bad? I have no clue. This is one of her weaknesses – so far, she doesn’t have a clearly-defined goal.

    Step 6: What obstacles must the villain overcome?
    The first obstacle she had to overcome was the Sword of Goodness which she had; fortunately, she got rid of it at GLoG due to sheer luck. She has to overcome her conscience without outright breaking it: she has to find ways around it. All the other Organizations which hate AMEN – WATCHTOWER, NO, HALO, Riverside governments, etc. have to be periodically overcome.

    Step 7: What is the villain's primary means of projecting influence?
    Harley Zorzo, while she does have some personal power, it is extraordinarily little in comparison to most other denizens of The Nexus. While she loves disguises, she hates manipulation. So, really, all that’s left for her is to be a leader in order to achieve her goals.

    Step 8: What are the villain's resources?
    Quick-thinking mind which can understand tactics and strategy
    Good leadership and disguise skills
    The ability to shapeshift – meaning disguise, using any biological power (electricity, fire, etc, and all that that implies: if I can justify it biologically, she can do it).
    A ruby amulet which can create ice bursts
    A scabbard (her father’s) which has been surrounding powerful magic for enough time that it has become “sanctified” through ambient magic – it is especially effective (and causes explosions) upon contact with evil outsiders, undead, fae (including elementals), and so on.
    The training of a knight, a musician, and an assassin
    Most of the resources and manpower of AMEN, so long as she remains the leader of AMEN.

    Step 9: If no heroes were to interfere, what would the villain's plan to achieve this goal be?
    She would go along with AMENite schemes, while occasionally going through personal business, and…who knows what else.

    Step 10: What are the villain's boundaries?
    Harley will never betray or turn against someone she sees as a friend; every one of them is necessary. It’s, actually, surprisingly easy to be on that list. She also won’t discriminate against them, understanding how it feels. She’ll avoid killing when possible.

    Step 11: What is the villain's personal threat level? In other words, is the villain a danger to the heroes if encountered personally? How much of a danger?
    In personal conflict, Harley is effective at some combat, but she’s not packed with magic out the wazoo. If she can’t avoid the combat, (or if she “deems it necessary”), she’ll take to the combat. She should be roughly equal in power to the average hero; however, certain circumstances can cause her to have advantages and others, to have disadvantages.

    Step 12: How does the villain treat his minions? How do the minions feel about the villain?
    Harley treats her minions well – preferably that they’re her equal, or even that they’re better than she is. If one is in danger or something, she’ll go out of her way to get them out of danger. How do the “minions” feel about her? I have no idea; it depends on how the other players react. I suppose they’ll find her friendly, but not mind-controllingly powerful.

    Step 13: What are the villain's visual quirks?
    Harley has a permanent scar on the left side of her face. She loses or fails more often than she succeeds. She has complex thoughts that make little sense when taken out of context. She rarely uses something actually lethal. Her favorite weapon is the scabbard which belonged to her father, which she uses as if it were a sword.

    Step 13a: What would the villain's theme music sound like?
    I don’t know. I’ll have to come up with this later.
    Since it’s a song I’m listening to right now, I’ll have to guess Lindsey Stirling’s Elements.

    Step 14: What is the villain's escape plan?
    Running, disguising, escaping. I don’t really know what would be the best way for her to escape.

    Step 15: What is the villain's name?
    Harley Zorzo, titled The Obsidian Butterfly. Her original name was Harley Martinez, but she took her father’s last name, Zorzo, and cast away her mother’s last name, Martinez. The Obsidian Butterfly is a title she earned while as a knight and it remained with her when she headed a revolution.

    In his true form, high scaleable, likely B at the least. Much of his power comes from being very hard to kill or stop. Unless you're prepared to deal with something akin to an elder dragon, run.

    Description: In human form, the Ruin appears as a thickly bearded fellow of Middle Eastern descent, with dark hair and deeply tanned skin. He would be handsome were it not for his rather rough, stony bearing and dark eyes. The man carries a sense of primal power with how he moves and acts. When his true nature is nearing the surface, his eyes become gems, and they literally shine with burning greed or bloodlust.

    His true form is a gigantic, vaguely humanoid creature, wiry but laden with muscle. There's a slimy-pale tone to his skin, like that of an animal that has lived in the dark all its life. The beast's a bit lopsided - as though he were just a thing trying to imitate a person. One shoulder's a few inches higher than the other, for instance, and one arm is longer to match. His joints are edged with large, bony protrusions that seem meant for protection. This form is typically dressed in dark leathers, such as a waistcloth or other such scarce clothes.

    The Ruin's head is the most direct line to his original ancestor. It is a long, sharply jagged skull ending in a long snout. The snout curves down to a dark orifice near the tip, being perhaps five feet in length, though it can vary. Similar holes and curved ridges punctuate the sides and front of this horrific visage. Through these are whistled haunting sounds, almost like music, that bounce off walls and linger in the ear. Above this, his eyes are dark holes, filled by twin pinpoints of light that resemble stars in the night sky. The top of his skull terminates in three points past the scalp.

    A sort of dark void-stuff trails off the Ruin wherever it travels, translucent and hazy. It's not particularly thick or prominent, but it's always there, like black steam rising off his skin. It becomes a powerful miasma in direct sunlight.

    Altogether he is neither man nor monster of pre-history. Were he full blooded, his true form would be far worse - no bone, or steely muscle, or other things belonging to men.

    Personality: The Ruin is slow to move and slow to act where his actions won't result in gaining material wealth. He's a ponderous, patient sort of thing, and he exudes an air of experience when it comes to dealing with pesky adventurers or subjects of dungeoneering. He enjoys the finer parts of immortal life, such as reading lengthy tomes, collecting gold or gems, and gathering powerful artifacts around oneself. As a hobby and a profession, he enjoys digging out caves or tunnels to create his lair.

    There are a few things that can rouse him from relative lethargy - tremendous amounts of loot, first and foremost. Another is blasted 'do-gooders', or other such adventurers seeking to claim what's his. He has a special sort of hate for the latter, and being well experienced with slaying them, he'll jump at the chance to take on a well-rounded party. One doesn't survive over a century without defeating a few fortune grabbers.

    The creature has a great respect for his grandfather, the Blind Lord of Nothing. His grandfather was a godkiller, a mighty Titanic creature that existed solely to devour light and all things that shine. Some of that lust for shining things has been passed on to him, with a healthy dose of natural human greed.

    Equipment:

    His equipment is sparse, but as follows:

    • A mattock. A mining tool with a pickaxe on one end and a hatchet on the other.
    • A stone-hammer. For crushing stone.
    • A pouch full of precious stones, cut crudely.
    • A jewelers tools.
    • Gold, whether it be as bracelets, anklets or a necklace.
    • Clothes, rather old looking.
    • Artifacts of some manner. Likely ones that have to deal with moving Earth, as that's all he would've been able to keep.


    Abilities:

    Human:

    I Dig: The Ruin - or Ma-el - is a skilled miner and mason. He can hew rock and cut stone with the best of them. Given a proper team, he can dig a mine in days, or even less if he uses his true form.

    The Appraiser's Eye: The Ruin is something of an appraiser. He can tell you the worth and approximate market value of gems, gold, or even artifacts.

    Gargantua:

    Strength of my Fathers: The Ruin of Kaen Lua is tremendously strong. He has power enough in his arms to crush boulders, redirect vast rushing rivers, and tear down the walls of civilization. In a similar vein, the Ruin is also very hard to damage. His skin is as cast iron armor, his bones as rock.

    Singing to the Rock: The acoustics of his strange skull and familiarity with sound allow him to sense his enemies presence based upon the sounds they make. He can mine for miles in complete darkness purely using sonic resonance to guide the way. His true form can roar through its flute-like skull to send out a powerful blast of sound, disabling foes or even shattering stone at its strongest.

    The Void: While in darkness, the Ruin makes no sound that he does not wish to. His presence disables man-made lights, making indoor battles extremely dangerous. This is an aura that can be disabled at will.

    Starlight: The Ruin's distant starry eyes aren't always so distant. From them he can unleash twin searing blasts of starlight, short bolts of heat that blast open earth and melt rock. Most often he uses this gift to mine out caves or smooth surfaces in the tunnels, but it is a formidable weapon as well.

    Weaknesses:

    Son of the Blind Lord: While in sunlight, the Ruin is blind. His sonic resonance becomes less effective in open spaces, slowing his reaction time significantly.

    That Blade was Broken: There are weapons - and certain magics - that can slay Gargantua. One must simply find them. Should he see such a weapon, one can be sure the Ruin will think twice about fighting at all.

    My Obsession: The Ruin has a great weakness for large quantities of gold. This may prove his downfall, should he be lured into a trap or somesuch.

    Like Fire in the Blood: The Ruin cannot permanently assume his true form. Though he has leaned more toward it after accepting his greedy nature and pursuing material riches, his power is not unlimited. Upon being sufficiently weakened, or fighting long enough, the Ruin will be forced to revert to the form of a very tough, albeit far weaker human.

    In addition, he will seldom assume his true form without good reason. Though he enjoys the power, he understands it is not something to trifle with, and would attract the attention of beings greater than himself.

    Backstory: When the last series of fresh Earths sprang from nothing, when they like fresh grains of sand were washed ashore on the cosmic plane by the tides of primal creation, a mighty beast washed ashore with them. It had no name, but the gods that sprang from these young worlds soon dubbed it the Blind Lord of Nothing. As far as they could tell, it had stumbled through the void since long before even the first Earths, nearly sightless and unfeeling, devouring those who wandered there to give itself some semblance of warmth. The devourer held sole dominion over absolute emptiness. A goddess of the heavens - her name is since lost, as perhaps it should be forgotten - took pity upon the thing, and brought it light in the moaning darkness. Her first star, perhaps one of the most beautiful things ever created.

    The thing coveted this light. Knowing nothing else, it devoured the star, then the goddess herself, for she was brighter than any starlight. The Blind Lord soon grew to covet all that gleamed in the Heavens and in the Waste below, such that it rode the young Earths into reality so that it might collect all such things beneath itself. But the other Gods, who were young and strong then, would not be devoured so easily. They slew the Blind Lord at great cost, and where it bled pieces of its will sprang forth as new beings, things of greed and lust. Thus they roamed many of the Earths, spreading sin among man, convincing him that he should collect that which shines. It is how the poor on these primitive worlds explain today why man values gold and jewels so, when its all really just shiny rocks.

    Some of these first light-obsessed behemoths fathered children with human women, and they became the gargantua, the descendants of the Blind King. While not full-blooded, and thus incapable of the power that their ancestors wielded, they can take on their true Void-forms fairly often, especially when lusting after gold or precious stones.

    The Ruin of Kaen Lua is one such gargantua. He never knew much of his father, growing up in a village on one primitive Earth as a mostly human boy. He felt the call of the wastes as his grandfather had, the weight of the riches that lay hidden in the dark far below, and thus began as a humble miner. With his unnatural might and skill, he eventually became the chief of his village through sheer personal wealth, after which he put the lot of them to work mining. Thus it went for nearly a century, fighting off bandits, adventurers who thought him an evil tyrant, and the like.

    But a descendant of the first gods, who held imagined dominion over the wastes as a priest-king, took notice. His name was Kialathu, ruler of Kaen Lua, and seeing a descendant of his ancient foe gain such power displeased him. Kialathu ordered the village razed to the ground, the mines collapsed, the people enslaved. Kialathu's council of warriors - one of the first adventuring parties - made quick work of this.

    The descendant of the Blind Lord would not tolerate his things taken from him. Drawing upon the power of his ancestors, he took on his true form in a rage for just the third time, and tore down the walls of Kaen Lua. He collapsed the homes, crushed the temples, brought down the palace itself. Before long Kialathu had fled into the waste, and his Council lay in bloody pieces that were barely recognizable from the broken stone around them. Thus was Kaen Lua lost, and the Gargantua's name forgotten. He has been known in the decades since only as the Ruin of that great golden city, at least to the men of his world.

    Power Rating: Hard to define. Direct combat isn't her strongest suit, but she has a couple of tricks up her sleeve. Maybe D or C?

    Description: Astrana is a human tiefling that appears to be around twenty years. She is slightly taller than average, appearing to be around 5’6”-5’7” in height (or about 170 cm). She has an oval face with very pronounced cheekbones which, along a sharp angular jawline, lead down to a slightly pointed chin. Her nose is flat with a pointed nose tip and wide nostrils. Astrana‘s thin-almond eyes hold yellow irises and pupils, obscuring the border between both. Crowning her eyes are expressive thick eyebrows going in a wide arch (number 3 on this list).

    Protruding a bit above her eyebrows are her black ram horns which curves into arches pointed towards her mouth before curving slightly inwards; their tips are a ruddy hue (like this, but not quite as thick). These are partly hidden by the dark tresses of her long jet-black hair. Her lips are thick and are the color of rich, red wine. Her skin is also dark red, but a lighter shade than her lips.

    Astrana’s shoulders aren’t very wide but her arms are slightly more muscular. She’s busty with fulsome hips, consistent with an hourglass-shaped body. Coming from just above her rear is a long, elegant tail which can reach the ground and still able to curve upwards a bit.

    She likes wearing practical clothing in rich dark colors, such as jade, black, and deep gold. Usually this consists of sleeveless shirts combined with skirts or shorts in different color combinations. Hailing from a tropical part of her world, she dresses only for cold weather when necessary and generally prefers to be lightly garbed when she can get away with it. While she’s in her own world she tends to wear a dark hood and a cloak though to hide her fiendish appearance from onlookers.

    Personality: Astrana has a forceful personality, though she hides behind a mask of politeness and timidity to come off as more agreeable. She has learned to hide her emotions in public whenever it suits her needs, though she’s still not always in full control of them in her actions.
    Like many of the members of the Fourth Tower, she desires to be able to control the world around her and not to be left for it's whims. She strives to gain more power to be able to push life in the direction she wants it.

    This manifests in a desire to learn and make contacts, both from mundane and otherworldly sources. Still, Astrana has a hard time attaching herself to someone on a deeper level (with a clear exception) which she sometimes see as an advantage thanks to her earlier drifter lifestyle.

    She sees herself as pragmatic. Though others might not think of her as a paragon of ethics, she sees herself as very ethical compared to many others who practice what she does.

    Equipment/Abilities: These two go hand in hand, as beyond her natural tiefling powers, which involve some minor fire resistance and fire control, she does not possess much in the way of inherited magical powers. Instead she knows how to invoke the powers of gods, spirits, demons, and other otherworldly beings through specific rituals she has been trained to do.

    These rituals can take an hour or even days to perform properly, but can have a large variety of uses. The more powerful ones usually requires some kind of sacrifice, however, and usually more warlocks than just one. That said, Astrana do have access to a number of pact bounds which still hold the original pact of their previous users. These pact bounds can be invoked much quicker than your usual ritual and holds the agreement between the entity and the pact maker in some form of manifestation.

    List of her pact bounds will come later.
