    Horatio Waters

    Alias: Red
    Gender: Male
    Race/Species: Human-ish
Age: 10, looks to be late twenties
    Alignment: Chaotic Good
    Class/Profession: Hypnotist, Illusionist
    Power Rating: C-

Description: A pale and slim man of average height, Red’s only really standout feature is his wild mop of fiery hair, which he keeps under some semblance of control with a charcoal grey bandana. He’s reasonably handsome, and his tender years of existence show through in a hard to define boyish charm that makes him seem naturally non-threatening.
Once known for a narrow selection of fitted pinstripe suits, Red’s travels have caused him to rethink his wardrobe somewhat; only the trousers remain, worn but clean. He wears a long charcoal coat over a dark button shirt and loose crimson tie, and walks around on a scuffed pair of red sneakers, battered but serviceable.

Personality: Whilst capable of enthusiasm and having fun, Red’s default setting is self-deprecating melancholy. Not particularly surprising, given his history. It all stems from his morbid fear of non-existence, a fate very close to his heart. It makes him somewhat cautious, morose, and prone to self-deprecation. Despite being generally friendly and believing in doing the right thing, Red is quite selfish, a character flaw he has difficulty admitting to himself, let alone others.

Due to his rather short existence, Red often exhibits some surprising gaps in everyday knowledge when such things turn up in conversation. He is well-travelled and possesses a huge variety of esoteric tidbits and obscure lore, but common things escape him. Having never experienced childhood, or any parents to learn things from, he has no idea how to deal with children and struggles with many mundane tasks, such as cooking, reading, and writing.

Equipment: Red's most prized possession is a small razor blade on a silver chain that he uses as a focus during hypnotism. He carries two books with him at all times. The first is a slim volume of spells, mostly illusions that he learnt during his previous time in HALO, along with a small selection of offensive and defensive wards he picked up during his years of travelling. The second is a mundane sketchbook, half full of rough line drawings that seem to shift and move when anyone gives them more than a cursory glance.

Red prefers to avoid physical confrontation, but he carries a slim short sword that he is adequately skilled with, and his long coat is imbued with a couple of defensive wards designed to protect him from harm.

Abilities: Red is a skilled hypnotist, a skill somehow copied over from the personality he was originally created to usurp. As well as being able to put himself under self-hypnosis, Red can transport both himself and others into the thoughts and dreams/nightmares of a hypnotised individual, a dangerous practice that he only uses when the person under hypnosis has no other way of solving their problems. Red is also a focussed if limited spellcaster, able to craft convincing and elaborate illusions by making a quick sketch in the drawing book he perpetually carries with him.

Due to the ‘unusual’ way he came into the world, Red has a very strong sense of self preservation, bordering on cowardice. He will back down from any fight if the situation allows, often letting his enemies get the upper hand on him as a result. He is also indecisive and prone to procrastination, a character flaw that can sometimes grind him to a standstill.

    Backstory:
    Spoiler
    Show
By all laws of nature, Red shouldn’t exist. He has no right to. Nothing more than a fake personality created by a vengeful sorceress, Red was implanted into the body of an existing man to overpower the resident personality and take over. He came into existence in a confused and empty fog, with no knowledge of his past, or of his true nature. HALO soon took him in, and there he quickly found a home.

His real troubles started when Saul, the personality overridden when Red was forced into the body, began to fight back. Red suffered longer and longer blackouts, where Saul would regain control of his body and use it for his own means. Turns out that a real personality can overpower a fake invader, given enough time, consigning the fake to permanent nonexistence. Red came out of a blackout one morning to find that Saul had rescued his own daughter and set her up in Red’s quarters. He also left a clear message – now he had his daughter, he would fight even harder to get his body back, and destroy Red in the process.

Despite a massive dose of fear and reticence, Red eventually agreed to a plan formulated by his friend, Inigo, to split the two personalities into separate bodies, allowing Saul to come back and enjoy life with his daughter, and Red to have a true life of his own. The procedure was painful but successful, and Saul was convinced to leave HALO with his daughter, without taking revenge on the personality that had very nearly destroyed him.

After recovering, Red found himself out of danger for possibly the first time in his short life, and terribly, terribly bored. Illusions and hypnotism created a few diverting distractions, but nothing long lasting. Red had no purpose to his new life, and, in rare spur of the moment decision, decided to go out into the world and find one. Taking off from HALO without even saying goodbye, Red travelled far and wide through the Nexus and beyond for six years, until washing back up here this very morning. What he learnt and did while he was away, who knows?

    Elite Sentai Galaxy Rangers!

Organization: A singular man founded this with nothing more than a dream of a better tomorrow, and an iron will. Currently nothing more than his quest to bring people happiness and peace he labors endlessly towards the completion of his dream. Though as of yet he is alone, he knows that one day he will find like minded people to help shoulder the burden of aiding those who most often go unnoticed, of solving the crimes that slip between the cracks! All across the cosmos such things go unnoticed, or are considered too difficult or dangerous for law enforcement to handle. These tasks are the sole mission of the Elite Sentai Galaxy Rangers! Though.. it's currently just one man with the resources of a semi wealthy heir who's bought some self defense equipment he knows one day his heartfelt desire for love and justice will draw others to his cause.

    Self styled Nebula Red:

    Name: Nakamura Shogo

    Height: 6"4

Weight: 210 Lbs, though he's under 10% body fat.

    Eyes: Blue

    Hair: Red

Personality: Caring and compassionate to an absolute fault, though he displays said fault through a burning desire for justice. He is the man who offers his arch enemy redemption without fail, a hero who never surrenders, never looks back, and never loses to evil. Even if he is beaten and bloodied he never surrenders, and this raw tenacity and love for humanity is what makes him, Nebula Red! He gives his all for everyone around him, though his overemotional state can also make him seem like he isn't taking situations seriously, but such high tensity emotion lends itself towards such displays of raw expression, but in the end, he's the man who would gladly give his life to achieve his dreams, but he's in no hurry all the same.

    Equipment
    Spoiler: Uniform
    Show
The Kel'Arthaes Star Alliance Galactic Protectorate Uniform is a functionally and aesthetically pleasing garb. Officers equipped with an ACP can mount it to control a normally automatic thermal membrane. The top is a white coat with silver-lined pauldrons and a tall collar. Traditionally, rank pins, ribbons and medals are worn on the right breast, and the left breast has the badge of the KSAGP, a diagonally-facing spike and a round base with a curved bottom. A mission badge with the designated ship and occupation is ironed on the left shoulder. Under the coat is a black, short-sleeve Kevlar shirt lined with cotton and polyester. The shirt may be worn instead of the coat, but the badge must remain.
The trousers are black, sleek, glossy, panels-and-pockets pants with two hip-to-thigh guards lining the outside. A mission belt is optional, but generally unworn whilst on shipboard duty. The mission belt holds most handguns, two grenades, and a trauma kit. A medical belt holds a jet injector, and a standard kit has analgesic, stimulant, and rescusitative drugs. An engineering kit has a variety of laser-based tools and a teleport buffer for self-assembling buildings, including anti-personnel turrets, nanite generators, graviton barriers, and coolant dispensers. The shoes are knee-high on humanoids, and are made for any terrain. Substances that enter the boot are sucked in through mini-vacuums, stored in tiny compartments in the sole, and manually expelled by unclipping the sole.

All members must take measurements via bio-scanner, and must undergo this process once every three months to adjust the uniform to be optimally comfortable.

    Spoiler: Advisory Control Panel
    Show

The wrist-mounted Advisory Control Panel is a device that is permanently, bio-organically attached to the forearm until it is removed by command code held by the Fleet Admiralty, at the request of the user, but only when retiring from service. It may be adjusted to fit any angle the user chooses, and the screen orientation may be changed, too. For all KSAGP uniforms, a mount for the device is on all uniforms, and installs drivers to control whatever the ordnance may have. It also recognises weaponry by taking an internal scan of the weapon and saving the information.
When using an ACP in conjunction with any armour with a helmet with a HUD, the ACP will link information about the user's health, graviton shield density, weapon statistics, and mission maps. A Friend-or-Foe sensor in the helmet will verify with the ACP to determine the affiliation of the person with an FoF tag.
Additional features of the ACP include an audio player, a personal communicator, data dump, and remote control.

    Spoiler: Armour and Graviton Shields
    Show
Note: All armour modules imply that the user is humanoid
    Onager Multi-Mission Adaptive Power Armour
General Purpose: Minimise impact by explosive blasts and to deflect subsonic bullets and scratches.
Helmet: Two plexiglass slits large enough to see out of, but small enough to retain maximum indestructibility. Contains a detachable radio transceiver with ten channels, subspace transceiver with three channels. Contains a detachable MILINT camera and cloaked periscope. Has two rebreathers on each jowl for recycling air or to seal the suit.
Torso/Back: Thick armour plating that houses a Graviton Shield Generator inside, and has slots to seal sixteen synthesiser coolant clips, eight rockets, and four grenades. Magnets in the back of the suit can house two two-handed weapons. O2 tank contains five hours of oxygen
Arms: Wrists contain housing for Advisory Control Panel and one forearm cover for the unused arm. Allows hyperextension of arms and wrists. Both arms can channel gravitons from the shield generator as a cutting tool. Has hydraulic capacity to lift or thrust, but may dislocate the arm.
Legs: Magnets on both legs can house a personal defence weapon, but not recommended to use both, because it reduces ammunition storage capacity. Two clip cases on each thigh. Has hydraulic capacity to sprint faster than usual, but will strain muscles very quickly. Boots contain two magnetic locks for compromised atmospheric conditions where traction is an issue.

    Matthison Surveillance Armour
General purpose: Reduce outside perception and improving the user's.
Helmet: Large case with face-wide visor with infrared, sonar, and magnification. Attached MILINT camera and cloaked periscope. Has a rebreather and a smart cartographer.
Torso/Back: Thick, but light armour plating that houses a Graviton Shield Generator on the front, and has slots for twelve synthesiser coolant clips, four rockets, and four grenades. Magnets in the back of the suit can house two two-handed weapons. O2 tank contains two hours of oxygen.
Arms: Wrists contain housing for Advisory Control Panel and one forearm cover for the unused arm. A recon drone straps on the forearm cover.
Legs: Magnets on both legs can house a personal defence weapon. Has hydraulic capacity to sprint faster than usual, but will strain muscles very quickly.
    CivFuture Kits
General purpose: Civilian emergency aid, but can be used in military operations
Helmet: Large case with a wide visor with X-ray for medical kit and EM detector for engineering kit. Attached heartbeat sensor for medical kit. Has a rebreather.
Torso/Back: Medical kit has vials of drugs and a power source attached to Graviton Targe Shield Generator housed on the back. Engineering kit has a smart toolkit that uses plasma concentrated on wrist mounts.
Arms: Wrists have insulation and defibrillator paddles on palms for the medical kit. Plasma tools are shaped on a wrist-mounted generator. ACP housing located on either wrist and a Targe Shield Graviton Concentrator and a jet injector.
Legs: Medical kit contains more vials for drugs, and the engineering kit has a small synthesiser for spare parts. Magnets located for a personal defence weapon.

    Contouring Graviton Shield Generator
Mounted only on Onager Multi-Mission Adaptive Power Armour and Matthison Surveillance Armour, the CGSG absorbs all impacts 5 cm from the user, but can be shaped to protect one person from a small explosive like a grenade. When overloaded, the CGSG shuts down to vent and recharge for ten seconds, then returns to full immediately. When drained but not overloaded, it takes five seconds out of impact to recharge, then returns to full.
    Graviton Targe Shield Generator
Mounted on CivFuture Kits and compatible with military armours, the Targe Shield Generator protects the user in a 90 degree, 30 cm long, 200 cm high graviton shield when deployed. It takes a bigger punch than a Contouring Shield, but does not protect anywhere beyond the shield. Takes ten seconds to recharge after overloading, and five seconds without overloading. Can protect as many people as can fit.

    Spoiler: Vampiric Abilities
    Show
    Blood Drain: Primarily via fingertips.

Mode: Water: Dio's mode was Ice; Wamuu's was Wind; Eisidisi's was Heat; Kars's was Light. Daisy's Mode is Water. By supercooling her blood, she draws moisture from the air as condensation. By infusing it with small amounts of her blood, she is able to control this water. By infecting water with her blood-water, she can control yet more water.

Jet Cutter Tears: She can shoot tear fluid from her tear ducts with the force of a water jet cutter.

Regeneration: She has a pretty damn fast regen rate.

    Spoiler: Stand: THE OPERA
    Show

The Opera is Daisy's Stand, manifesting as a shadowy figure in "Dracula" vampire garb holding an elegant black umbrella. It is, as with all Stands, a manifestation of psychic energy and thus appears and disappears at her will. Its main capability is to create a small space which dampens or blocks out one type of energy at a time. Daisy mainly uses it for a small anti-sun field when she has to go out in the day, but it can also dampen thermal energy, sound, or other things. However, it can only do one of these at a time; she cannot block sunlight and sound at the same time, for example.

    Personality:
Daisy is fun-loving and flamboyant, but deep down she's calculating and dead-set on her goal of ascending to the next level of vampire evolution: becoming a supervampire, one of the Pillar Men, those eldritch few so named for the first one discovered, who was bound in stone form into a pillar in eons of torpor.
Only problem is... nobody has the slightest idea how. Pillar Men are extremely rare as it is, and it's not even certain if one can become one.

Mr. Hook, Agent Line, and Dr. Sinker

    Genders: Male
    Race: Human(?)
    Ages: 29, 36, and 47, respectively
    Profession: Slave
Alignment: True Neutral, all three of them
    Power Level: A-

Appearance: White men in somber gray suits. That's about all most anyone ever remembers of them. Press a witness for details, and they might recall the dark sunglasses, short, dark-brown hair kept impeccably tidy, and cold, callous frowns. Dr. Sinker's been getting a few grays in his hair lately, but even so, they're all fairly attractive. Of course, who isn't in the Nexus? Think the Agents of the Matrix: faceless minions of an unfeeling machine, carrying out their master's will without fear or hesitation.

Personality: None whatsoever. Hook, Line, and Sinker together have all the personality of a barbed-wire fence, and just as much mercy. They only speak when neccesary, even amongst themselves, and those times are rare. One could mistake them for telepathic, given how rare it is that any one of the three utters a word.

Abilities: There is little the three cannot do. If their master wants something found, it will be found. If he wants someone to live, they will spared from any and all threats against their being. If he wants the spouses and children of his enemies beaten, humiliated, made into farm animals, and later sold at a local steakhouse, then this too, will come to pass. The three are more inclined to keep to the shadows and avoid notice, but are more than capable of leaving a bloody, explosive trail of death and chaos, if the master so wishes.
To clarify further, the three men are clearly some form of superhuman. They may be gods, the end result of pacts with powerful devils, alien constructs, undead...it's even possible they all fell into a vat of radioactive waste together. Hard to say, and as explained both above and below, the three gentlemen aren't inclined to elaborate upon their nature.

Equipment: Only what is needed in their duties, and can be concealed within a suit, a car, or a briefcase.

Backstory: Hook, Line, and Sinker are not here to reminisce, they are here to do as their master wills. You would do well to remember this.

Miscellaneous: This entry is subject to drastic change as more is revealed with time. Those who are the most guarded of their secrets are often the first to lose them.

    Valcario's Pirate Crew:

    Spoiler: Slagerin the Unkillable
    Show

    Slagerin The Unkillable
    Race: Lizardfolk
    Gender: Male
Occupation: Strong Man, Merc, Thug, Laborer, Shield, One-Lizard Army, Decoy, Garbage Disposal, Endless Food Supply
    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
    Power Level: B

    Powers:
    Super Strength

    Regeneration:
He has powerful nature magic that allows him to regenerate from everything except fire and acid. It is powerful enough, that if he cuts off a finger, it will regenerate into a clone of him with all his memories up until that part of him got cut off, allowing him to quickly chop off and throw away body parts to regenerate later if the main body gets hit by fire or acid. However, full body regenerations take a lot of energy out of him and he needs to eat soon after.

    Extremely Omnivorous:
He can eat almost anything, with a few exceptions like anything on fire or acid. He is so omnivorous to the point where he will gladly eat his own clones- and his clones will gladly eat him.

Note: yes theoretically he can create an army of clones of himself, but they would all be very hungry afterwards and start fighting and eating each other, which would soon kill the number of Slagerin’s down to manageable levels.

Note: his regenerative powers include his blood. vampires beware, trying to drain him won’t turn out well for you.

    Personality:
Loves to fight and battle, but only against people worth fighting. He will gladly fight his own clones if no other option presents itself. He and his clones have a deal that the winner of the fights eats the loser.

    Description:
Slagerin is a muscular green-scaled lizardfolk, he wears blue pants but is generally shirtless and shoeless- his lizard feet wouldn't fit in any, and he generally didn't need any protection from attacks. He doesn't even carry a weapon.

    Backstory:
It is said he once fell into a plane of infinite growth and healing and absorbed the magical radiation from it, coming out with super-strength and a powerful regeneration ability, where then he began to fight away throughout the worlds of the universe, earning the legendary title “The Unkillable” for his ability to survive and come back from almost any situation you throw at him. While he did so, he met Valcario and gone on adventures with him at times.

    Description:
She is a thin white-furred rabbit folk with blue eyes, her wizard’s hat making her ears point downward, and her green robe is more like a sorceress’s get up or magical girl’s outfit. The staff she carries has an orb on its top that changes color with her mood.

    Backstory:
It is said that she always had a great talent for Emotional Magic, the mental counterpart to Elemental magic and just as primal and ancient. She became a great Emotionalist…then shortly decided to fly off and do whatever the hell she wanted with her magic. She has recently come onto Valcario's crew because he agrees with her views on explosions.

Valine is relatively passive, calm and caring. She cares mostly for her friends but is willing to help others in need if she sees them. She however has a quiet strength about her, a willingness to protect her friends with a calm resolution.

    Backstory:
Valine was always curious about the oceans surface, but everyone always told her to focus on her studies in Alchemy. The years passed as she became one of the greatest alchemists the Merfolk ever knew. She soon got tired of playing alchemist and snuck out, breaking free of merfolk society to freely explore the surface of the ocean and adventure throughout the world, to see what its like and find more alchemy to learn on the surface. She has found Valcario and his crew as a place to practice her alchemy and explore the world like she always wanted, without merfolk society getting in her way.

    Spoiler: Saltanne Berennes
    Show

    Saltanne “Black Cat” Berennes
    Race: Catfolk
    Gender: Female
Occupation: First Mate, Fae Swordswoman, Illusionist
    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
    Power Level: B

    Powers:
    Super-Speed
    Invisibility

    Lesser Illusion Magic:
She can’t do anything big, like surround people in an illusionary reality or anything, but she can do things like make certain objects invisible, or conjure illusions of objects she doesn’t have, or change cosmetic features about her or other people’s appearances- moderate-to-small things like that. She is known to make illusionary money to pay for much of what she has.

    Equipment:

    Mist Saber
It phases through all armor like a ghost, but cuts organic material just fine, making it able to ignore all armor in its attacks…but at the same time, it also phases through all weaponry, making it unable to parry any attack aimed at her. Her sword fighting style as a result, relies entirely on dodging for defense.

    Water-Walking Boots:
Allows her to stride upon water

    Skills:
    Great Deceiver
    Stealthy
    Con Artist
    Dealmaker
    Diplomatic
    Cheating At Gambling
Has many Underworld and Fae Connections
    Saber Swordswomanship

    Personality:
Coy and teasing, she is clever and sharp, but dangerous. Saltanne always tries to profit from any situation in without causing much damage. She is very much the deceiver, the con woman, the liar. She sees no point in being honest to the mark or to suckers. She has a bit of down to earth worldview, not putting much stock in taking risks or flights of fancy.

    Description:
She has black fur, yellow eyes and wears a long black pirate coat with golden lining over a white blouse and blue pants, with long black pirate boots. Her Mist Saber sheathed at her waist is a grey-blue and with a strange mist about it. She is tall and moves languidly and with care.

    Backstory:
She has a checkered past with Valcario, one that has proven to him that she is not entirely trustworthy. Her designs have always been a little mysterious and hard to fathom, yet somehow she has always turn up an alley in his adventures despite how much he distrusts her. For her part, she considers him a strange, risk-taking fool, one she likes to tease and to go along with, as well as advise when she feels the need, help when she feels the desire. Valcario never quite knows what to make of her….
I'm also on discord as "raziere".

    Suscipio Eternus

Name/Alias: Hermit; Aeturnius the Bronze; Mostly just called by either Suscipio or Eternus.

    Gender: Male

    Race: Human

Age: 417 (Stopped aging around 28)

    Alignment: Neutral Good

    Class/Profession: Chronomancer

    Power Rating: A+/A-

    Description:

Short, golden-blonde hair with eyes to match. The whites of his eyes are instead an otherworldly black. His clothes seem fairly rudimentary, if not slightly old fashioned. One could almost always find a discontent or worried grimace on his face he often uses as a tool for constant sarcasm. Normally careful to maintain a simple and nonthreatening demeanor and poise. He carries two katana sheathed at the waist on either side, covered in runes.

    Personality:

Often regarded as funny to those that have met him. Most only are around him for a small while though enjoy the company. He cares deeply for other people and dislikes imbalance in most all things. He's been known to sacrifice almost to a fault for those who've helped him. Very prone to guilt, and forgetfulness. Takes the initiative to be polite to everyone that he first meets, or to at least makes the attempt. Enjoys analyzing others, with an overactive attention to deduction.

    Equipment:

    >Two Katana: Both of his katana are imbued with his magic through him, each with different properties. Using special properties of either katana induces massive fatigue on Suscipio.

-Ebb: Has the ability to sap time from other entities. Can, with enough contact—via stabbing, prolonged touching of the blade and the like—wither living things or degrade objects.

-Flow: Has the ability to freeze an entity in time as well as resuming said entity to its natural state in time. This can occur with the slightest bit of contact with the blade.

    >Pocket Watch: Suscipio carries a pocket watch that he uses as a focus to predict events as well as look into the past. He can do this at will, with little to no side-effects. The foresight is limited to what would've happened before he'd seen it. How he acts may and often times does effect the flow of time, thus changing the result.

    >Clockwork Staff: Recently, the chronomancer was presented with a mystical staff handed down to him by the powers that be, once he'd joined the Stormguard. It's collapsable, and has certain properties that greatly assist him in using his innate magic. While using this staff, Suscipio isn't subject to the normal physical repercussions when manifesting his abilities. The only foreseeable downside as of yet is that it's a bit hard to dual-wield katana with a staff in hand.

    Abilities:

    >Centurysight: His eyes are the source of some distinct supernatural abilities to perceive the forces of time. He can see the age of most anything he glances at, and—if he exerts enough strenuous effort—can see how long a living being has until it dies naturally.

    >Chronomancy: Suscipio is able to manipulate the forces of time as he sees fit at the given moment based on his current skill through means of trial and error, and necessity. Doing so usually has some adverse effect based on how powerful a 'spell' he casts really is. Freezing time around him in a thirty foot radius might leave him breathing heavy where a few miles radius for about an hour would leave him unconscious.

    >Swordplay: Suscipio's one true hobby in life has ever been the sword. From the time before he realized his powers, he aimed to hone his skill. A few lifetimes' worth of practice has proven invaluable. He dual wields katana as his primary form of fighting, however is well trained in other weapons and very few forms of martial arts.

    >Research: Suscipio has lived a while, and gets rather bored on occasion. This prompts him researching many things related to the arcane and occult. All things strange spark his interest and because of this, he'll have at least a small sliver of information on most supernatural subjects.

    Backstory:

Suscipio grew up never really understanding why it took him longer to lose his first tooth, or why it always seemed like he never had to rush anywhere. Sometimes before he truly awakened to what power he had, he figured he was just really lucky when he 'guessed' there'd be a thief around the corner ready to rob him. One day, right before he ought to have kissed the sharp end of an axe when escorting a caravan, everything stopped. That was the day he realized he could control time, to an extent. From then on he practiced and eventually mastered his innate magic abilities. After discovering he'd stopped aging when he was in his late twenties, he packed up and began to wander the world, helping people whenever he ran into them.

    Eira

((No Tektek avaliable...It hates the color grey.))

    Gender: Female
    Race: Lesser Goddess
    Alignment: True Neutral
    Profession: Goddess of Miserable Weather
    Power Level: B+

Appearance: Grey. Very much the overwhelming theme is a thundercloud grey. Her eyes, her hair, which is also near-constantly damp, her clothes, everything. Her hair is long and a little curly, as well as being almost constantly damp, as though she just came in out of the rain.

Personality: Slightly ditzy sometimes, Eira is a rather subdued soul, content to just sit and watch the world go by...Which isn't necessarily good for those around her, because...

Abilities: Wherever Eira is, there is miserable weather. Be it damp, cold snow that is no fun to play in, or drizzly, windy rain that makes you just want to curl up and take a nap, it's there, in about a 50-mile radius around her. She can suppress this at will, but often doesn't get why people don't want it to stop, as she likes the weather other people consider miserable. She also has some small command of her elements, and can blast wind, rain, snow, and other, similar effects at will.

Equipment: Other than the clothes on her back, nothing.

    Sophia Godlark

"I refuse to accept failure! Loss is not an option! Whether it be for my values, my friends, my loyalties, or my family, I will not be the one asleep in the infirmary or resting in a coffin!

    Race: Human (Titan Shifter)
    Gender: Female
    Age: 17
    Profession: Soldier/paladin
    Alignment: Chaoticish Good
    Power Level: B
    Theme

    Appearance:
Clad in a the brick red coat of an officer, the emblem known as the Flugel der Freiheit worn proudly upon the heart and back, Sophia can strike an imposing figure. She bears the lean, musclebound form of a soldier, kept in shape by a life of combat. Standing at 5'4", Sophia is commonly adorned in the uniform umber boots and harness of the Scouting Legion's troops, her legs clad in deep blue leggings below. A vivid pink scarf is always upon her, sometimes around her neck and other times encircling the upper arm. A deep violet shirt is worn below the harness, the style changing as the weather dictates.

When in titan form, Sophia takes the form of an enormous, skinless giant, it's muscles lean and extremely fit. It's slender form towers 15 meters tall, and it-no, she bears bony armoring upon her joints. Guards of thick bone form upon her hands, forearms, feet, and calves, and a terrifying, jagged grin lies upon her lipless face. Long maroon hair cascades to her ribcage, and her narrowed eyes glow sky blue.

    Personality:
With a determination on par with Eren Jaeger's (sans vengeful, titancidal bloodlust), Sophia's most notable trait is her tenacity and unwillingness to quit. She despises leaving any loose end untied or task incomplete. Sophia has developed a slightly cynical outlook on life, and her long career in the military has developed her personality into one of pragmatism and cautious optimism. To Sophia, few tools are taboo in order to accomplish her goals if it is truly the most efficient (though she keeps in mind that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, and her morals will restrict her from a few). She has an almost inexorable sense of familial loyalty, and Sophia will often prize the safety of her relatives and those close to her above risks (though there is a limit of reason to this. She's not Doctor Halsey).
Sophia also idolizes the concepts of duty and loyalty, considering failure show such things a personal failure even if such was not in her control.

    Abilities:
    Titan Shifting
Sophia can tranform into her titan form when she has a specific goal in mind and injures herself. When in her titan form she can harden portions of her skin into a diamond-like substance, and she has regenerative abilities that enable her to be able to heal both parts of her body and her titan form. Transforming and healing both take a toll in the forms of exhaustion and hunger, and although her healing abilities are powerful (heals a removed arm in about 2 hours when in human form, and can heal an obliterated hand in a matter of a couple minutes), Sophia isn't invincible: an injury that causes death that one couldn't survive long enough for regeneration, such as being decapitated, obliterated or bisected, even if in titan form (though one has to hit her real body inside the nape), will kill her.

    Combat Veteran
Sophia is extremely skilled at O/3DMG use, and is physically very fit with high endurance. She also excels in hand to hand combat, especially when fighting larger opponents, and has developed great celerity in both reflex and actions. Due to her career, Sophia has an affinity for dual-wielding blades.
She has survived improbable odds in the Struggle of Trost and in the Survey Corps, and as one might expect from her survival through many battles, Sophia has learned to respond and adapt to the ever-altering terrain and actions of her enemies, allies and land about her.

    Technical Skill
Thanks to being responsible for maintaining her gear, Sophia has gained a skill with building, disassembling, and maintaining mechanics. After her arrival in the Nexus, the mechanics she's learned to operate have increased considerably, but she isn't fluent in all of them, especially electronics.

    ((Tektek inc.))

    Gender: Female
    Race: Human
    Alignment: True Neutral

Said leaves and flowers are, of course, the other major way she's changed. They cascade down the back of her head on a series of thin, twiglike vines that are surprisingly flexible and durable, and resemble lilacs in both smell and looks, alternating between deep purple bunches and creamy white ones.
Personality: Bitter at the world, Elaine has experienced the worst the Nexus has to offer: Terrible, superpowered landlords; terrible, superpowered abusive boyfriends; terrible, superpowered random people on the street who beat people up for not acting like they're the best thing ever...She's seen it all, and doesn't like any of it, leaving her quite jaded.

Abilities: Human Adaptability...Which means nothing. \

    Haven Trooper 31-Ϙ / "February"

    Age: 25
    Class: Haven Trooper
    Alig: LN?
    Race: Human cyborg, seemingly?
    Gender: F

Description: HT31-Ϙ, aka "February", wears standard FROG armor on most occasions, though when not on-duty she usually takes off her helmet and unzips the neckline a little. With the helmet off, one can actually see what she looks like; her hair is shortish and brown, rouge at the tips, and her eyes are striking green. At present, her only other items of clothing are a pair of plain grey undergarments kept in a sealed capsule in one of her belt pouches. She is about 5'9" and fairly well-built.
February's FROG armor is currently hosting a special testbed setup her unit had been transporting; this additional harness connects into her neural implants and features four sockets sporting additional cybernetic arms. This she hides under an overcoat, whose bulk helps hide the arms.

Equipment: The HT-FROG armor mounts an impressive load of weaponry:
    • one FN P90 submachine gun (left thighplate)
    • one FN Five-seveN handgun (right thighplate)
    • one machete (left thighplate)
    • three small throwing-knives (right forearm plate)

Abilities: Her internal nanomachines provide her with increased physical capabilities, especially her jumping ability. Her armor also has a van der Waals force (VDW)-based adhesion system in the feet and hands, allowing her to cling to surfaces.

Personality: February was, until recently, under direct emotional control. As such, she generally has trouble dealing with feeling emotions.

    Nereids
Spirits of the Sea and Water
Why yes Gulaghar's Dryad Race did inspire this

    Spoiler: Physical Traits
    Show
Nereids are always female, no exception. No real reason why. They just are. Blame water being considered as a feminine element for this one.
Nereids can assume two forms: Liquid and Human.
Liquid is basically a fluid form of water that the nereid can shape into any form, the liquid used to create this form is about 10 liters. It can exist anywhere, but the water may be evaporated. This makes the nereid smaller and smaller, killing the nereid if it all is evaporated. This form can be replenished if I comes in contact with water via assimilating water into it.
Human is a physical body much like a human's in appearance, hence the name. This form is completely customizable by the user, but must have blue eyes. It's size varies directly with the Liquid form. Drinking water while in this form replenishes any evaporation.

    Spoiler: Abilities
    Show
Nereids are able to shift their liquid form into any shape they wish to as long as the shaped does not use more water than 10 liters.
They are also able to seamlessly switch the water used if they're in contact with te water, even decreasing the amount if they wish. They therefore can effectively teleport to different locations in water.

    Spoiler: Birth, Life, and Death
    Show
Nereids are created when powerful magic comes in contact with a body of water such as a lake, river, stream, or even ocean. Nereids can live as long as their body of water of origin is not evaporated or emptied. They only die before then when the water used in their liquid form is completely evaporated. They become sick if their water body of origin is polluted.

    Caius Grayle

There's no real difference between the good and the bad. We all bleed the same way.

    Gender: Male.

    Race: Augmented Human.

    Age: 24.

    Profession: Supervillain, sort of.

    Alignment: True Neutral.

Power Level: About a solid B.

Personality: Grayle is fairly reserved, not usually one for huge displays of egomania. He prefers to go about his work with indifference, trying not to maintain any kind of incredibly close relationship with anyone. He treats his allies as co-workers, not friends. Soft-spoken, quick to the point, yet not completely devoid of charm, Grayle can occasionally be a fairly decent conversationalist.

    Appearance:
    Spoiler: This, Essentially: (TekTek)
    Show

Abilities: Grayle makes up for brittle bones and incredibly weak body with his ability to manipulate matter. His powers do not extend to living organisms, and his powers take concentration. The larger the object the more difficult to maintain control.

    Equipment: Clothing.

    Backstory: To Come.

"There is only one question that matters in this world, my friend: 'How do I gain more power?'"

    Theme
    Race: Human Stone mask Vampire
Age: Well, she looks to be 21....much older though.
    Gender: Female
    Alignment: Neutral Evil PINK
    Profession: Actor
    Power Level: B

    Appearance:

Dressed in a pink dress shirt, hot pink scarf that probably could blind someone if it w's any more intense, a short black skirt, pink boots, and black gloves, her pink hair tied in a bun, Macbeth very obviously likes pink. Hell, even her eyes are pink!
She is fairly attractive, about an 8 out of 10 if I had to rate it, with pale skin, long red hair that she dyes pink cuz it doesn't look unusual enough to her, and a slender, if kinda scrawny, physique.
Macbeth sometimes instead has her red hair undyed, and dresses in a black skirt, black boots, and a pink skirt instead

    Personality:
Macbeth, rather vivacious and impulsive at a glance, loves acting, playing music, and discovering things, able to be serious when the situation calls for it and very extroverted, making fast friends with most.
Deep down, however, Macbeth is quite a different person.
She is cold, calculating, and ruthless, ambitious and focused on finding a way to become more powerful, somehow.

TechnoScrabble's Big 'Ol Post of PCs, NPCs, Races, and Other Etceterataneous Things

Dimmer Witches and Black Bards (free Quietians)
    Spoiler
    Show
Natives of Quietia, a quiet, dark world with a black sun and three moons, where night and song reign supreme. Conquered by one of the thousands of children of the Hive Mother, the children of Quietia were herded into one of two academies on the planet to be trained as Dimmer Witches or Black Bards for the Hive Mother's armies. Jumpin' Jack Snipes has recently freed those within the academies, and now thousands of Dimmer Witches and Black Bards aged 7 to 20 live in the Underbed with the Bogeymen. They're not true creatures of shadow, though, and not yet used to their freedom, so Jack wants to secure a land for them in the Nexus.

Dimmer Witches can control darkness in it's purest form, blacking out lights, putting people to sleep or giving them dark visions, and making cushions or hard surfaces from darkness, and can cast hexes and boons and brew potions. They take familiars from Jack's wyverns or the shades of the Underbed. They are pale, and dark haired and eyed, and dress in a gothic or gothic lolita style.

Black Bards are the sound aspect of Quietia's people, men capable of roaring sonic attacks or sounds as sharp and silent as a dagger. Working together in 'Bands' or 'Orchestras', they blast their enemies to pieces or work with the Dimmer Witches to lure them into traps with their sound manipulating powers. They have similar skin and hair to the Dimmer Witches, but dress in a manner similar to hardcore metal bands, or a combo of KISS and savage barbarians.

Bogeymen and Shades and Shadow Wyverns
    Spoiler
    Show
The native denizens of the Underbed, the bogeymen are tall, broad, creatures with curling horns, jutting jaws and teeth, hooked wings, and sharp claws and animals' heads. They seem somewhat simple, especially with their speech impediments, but are actually rather clever. They can portal within realms and dimensions through shadows, and can travel between dimensions through the shadows beneath beds and in closets and wardrobes. They are extremely loyal to Jack, as he killed and ate their previous king and gave them their freedom.

Shades are bogeymen that are born from lucid dreams, and while smaller and weaker, have the ability to perform minor illusions.

Shadow Wyverns are draconic creatures bred in the Underbed that have gained the powers of the Bogeymen. With dark scales that emit black fog and small, bright eyes set in front of large horns, they have a sort of demonic appearance but are actually quite docile. The poison in their tail stings has weakened and become little more than a numbing agent, but their cleverness and ability to travel between shadows makes up for it.

    The Underbed
    Spoiler
    Show
A realm of dreams, nightmares, and shadows, the Underbed can be accessed using bogey magic. The sky is usually blocked by clouds, but sometimes you can get glimpses of far off bedsprings and dust bunnies. Though there is no sun, there is a glowing moon and it's always just bright enough to see. Creatures and mirages born of dreams and nightmares stalk these lands, hunting in the forests of hand-like 'dead' trees, and though it is at times beautiful, it is certainly not safe, and any mortal non-shadowkin here will slowly waste away.

The safe place is the City of Lights, where no dream dare enter. Jack's palace sits on top of a hill, crafted from black and white marble and filled with his trophies and bogeymen, as it is a public place. Expanding out from that in concentric circles that only make any sort of architectural sense if view from above is a massive city made from the same material ina vaguely central American style, with every street well lit by colorful paper lanterns and decorated with crystalline, sugary candies. The bogeymen, shades, and free Quietians live here with their shadow wyvern pets.

    Tire Geal
    Spoiler
    Show
Artificially created to be scouts, and modeled after predatory avians and reptiles, their life force was provided by the blood of a man with a connection to the fae, and now they are chaotic, half-fae hunters with a very mutative gene sequence. While they follow a general structure, and most share the same features, it is nowhere near uncommon to see one with an odd adaptation or color scheme, especially since some beneficial mutations are singled out for military purposes.

Tall humanoids, with slightly flat and angular faces like a yuan-ti, with ruffled ears that roll up like a blue dragon's, metallic hair, golden or bright green eyes, shape-changing pupils, and frills, spikes, or feathers on the backs of their heads. They aren't fat, but their muscular structure makes them somewhat thickly built, though light thanks to whip-cord musles and lightweight but strong bones. They have redundancies (sometimes multiple) of nearly every organ beneath the shoulder, including reproductive organs, which are kept safely in a sheath because holy crap why do all the other mammals just wave theirs around that's a weak pint. Their fingers and toes are very dextrous and slightly elongated and tipped with blunt claws, and the tops covered in boney extrusions for protection. Their noses are somewhat broad, with wide slits and deep pits for powerful smell, and their tongues are long and bright red, sliding in and out of grooves between sharp teeth. The most common skin colors are alabaster, pitch black, a watery blue, or a creamy orange, with thin, shallow lines up and down their bodies. They're fast and strong, but have high metabolisms that need about 150% as much food as a human of equal size and age would consume to stay healthy.

They have a hunting focused mindset, and their society focuses mainly on military and scientific exploits, though many instead work civilian jobs on the sections of their home chain of islands that serve as a resort to bring in money. They are generally laid back, but have overactive adrenal glands that can get the easily excited. They have no connection t the Arcane, the Warp, or psychic resonation, and so are generally immune to such methods of attack, but also cannot use them. Most of their race has been formed in tubes via combined genetic sequences and put through accelerated growth, but given their favorite form of recreation and their tendency to birth litters, babies are becoming more and more common, especially half-breed infants. They employ other species in their military commonly, mostly soldiers who visited the resort and decided to enlist or remnants of the dwarven pirates that once plagued their waters.

    Wolfhounds
    Spoiler
    Show
One of the signs of the Wild Hunt (and commonly mistaken as part of it), the wolfhounds of the Fiachmaistir are specially bred, masive hunting dogs that serve the god of the Holy Hunt even in his old age and decreasing grip on reality. All are large, shaggy and wirey haired Irish Wolfhounds with energetic attitudes and fierce natures, and can only be harmed by silver, titanium, tungsten, uranium, obsidian, natural claws and teeth, or a weapon made from a fallen enemy. They come in three breeds.

Hunting hounds, bred for their higher intelligence and tracking skills, have ashy grey or midnight black fur and rolling green fire for tongue and eyes. Their fur smokes constantly.

Stormcaller hounds, bred for their speed and pulling strength, have fur as dark as storm clouds, and crackling lightning for eyes and frozen shards of hail for teeth. Their barks are thunderclaps, and wherever they go, storms follow.

Daylight hounds have white fur and brilliant golden eyes. They clear away storms and nights for the new sun to rise, and are not harmed by uranium.

    Transcendance
    Spoiler
    Show
A cult forming in the Violet Manor of Skyside and the Big River Hotel in Inside, these affluent, psychically talented people believe that when one gives birth to a chestburster (in the typically gory way chestbursters are born) a purer, cleaner copy of your soul is made in the new lifeform to live on. Most of the lower cultists are actually mindblanked and neurally remade vagrants, but the higher ups are often doctors or scientists. They wear organic black and gold (or purple and gold, if they have rank) robes meant to resemble xenomorph carapaces, and use necromonger kinetic rifles. They have access to Umbrella Corp manufacture cloning facilities and facehugger eggs, and have begun a campaign of kidnapping people or purchasing slaves and using facehuggers to allow them to 'transcend', then capturing and cybernetically modifying the brains of the resulting xenomorphs to make them more placid and intelligent. Because toying around with xenomorphs always works.

    Special Xenomorph breeds so far:
Tough, greenish xenomorphs with oversized fangs (Half-Orc)
    Sneaky, thin xenomorphs (Elf)
Sneaky, thin xenomorphs with wings (Winged Elf)
Runner morphs with regeneration that are weak to silver and grow stronger in the moonlight, and can transmit eggs like a facehugger (Werewolf)
Large, purplish xenomorphs with sadistic natures, unnatural cleverness, winglike membranes, minor psychic powers, regeneration, immunity to most poisons and chemicals and acids and fire, and horned heads (Half-daemon duergar)
Bluish-green aquatic morphs with webbed claws and tails and sonic attacks (mermaid)
    Large, tough, dumb xenomorphs (ogre)
Xenomorphs that can turn intangible if not constrained by silver or lead (eyrecrad)
A daemonmorph capable of runic magic
Three daemonmorphs with higher intelligence and psyker powers.

    Jumpin' Jack Snipes
    "So I shanked him hardcore."

    Spoiler
    Show

A tall, impossibly thin and sharply angled man made from black. Just black, the idea of black. There is no shadowy aura, though the light becomes diffuse around him and any lights he walks close to extinguish, he is just the essence of black. His eyes and teeth are stark white, and almost cartoonish, the eyes being perfectly circular when not shaped by emotion and his grin somehow wider than his face and full of perfectly triangular teeth.

Jack Snipes was once a man. Actually, a khajit. He was an unscrupulous bandit and a killer, but when his time came, he was given a second chance, and reincarnated as a human to try again. He took his chance, and tried to support his new family as a guitarist, but the family's father blew all the money on booze and was generally a ****. Jack made a deal with a goddess, Lady Luck, to become a renowned and famous guitarist and make enough money to support himself and the family despite the drunken father, so long as he donated some of the money to charity. Soon enough, Jack's greed took over and he stopped giving the money away, at which point Lady Luck came to take his luck back and he panicked and shanked her hardcore. With her dying breath she cursed him to become mad, nothing more than a beast of bloodshed and unthought, and he went home, freaked out, and when confronted, shanked his family hardcore. From there, Jack's mind began to fracture, falling quickly into a murderous, chaos spreading madness, and he started the Harlequin Crew, a gang of anarchists and thugs and killers who did bloody and harsh crime for the hell of it. During this time period, he encountered the Jack of Shades, shanked him hardcore, and took his powers over shadows. The mind of the Jack of Shades stabilized Jack enough that he gave up random crime and left the Harlequin Crew, starting plots and plans to gain power and undo his curse. He was trapped in a nightmare realm known as the Underbed when fighting a wizard, and there met the bogies, who were being abused by their king. Jack shanked the Bogey King hardcore and took his title and powers. Though still slipping day by day, Jack cared for the bogeymen, and this act of humanity locked down a portion of his mind. Soon after, Jack found the Jack of Blades, out-shanked him hardcore, and took his powers as well, driving the Jack of Sparrows into hiding. After that and a brief bit of IEDS (interdimensional evil dating service), he met Tenebria and freed the Quietians. He now plots to undo his curse and take over a signifigant portion of the Nexus to ensure the Quietians a safe place to live.

Jack can travel through shadows, manipulate them, control blades and sharp objects around him, put out lights, play a mean guitar solo, cast illusions, put out lights, and harden shadows into other objects or nigh-impenetrable armour, though bright light weakens him and can burn away his shadow creations.

    Terek Nchyevsky
"Bloodsucking parasites, all of them. Vermin of the earth!

    Spoiler
    Show

A tall man wrapped in bandages, with a hideously scarred and burned face with a silver cross branded to it and his teeth replaced with metal fangs. Dark blue eyes burn with dangerous insanity, and ragged strands of brown hair hang out from beneath a wide brimmed brown inquisitor's hat with a silver cross on the front. He dresses in dark brown and grey leather inquisitorial gear, complete with silver buckles and buttons, and his fingertips are covered in sharp metal caps where he has gnawed them down to the bone. He usually wears a white mask with a black, stylized cross on the front, and wears several metal plates beneath his clothing.

Terek was a freedom fighter in a nation ruled by vampires, but was captured, turned, and broken, forced to drink the blood of his wife after being starved for a year by having his teeth yanked out. Terek is now a crazed hitman with a specialty for killing the undead, a hatred of vampires, and a strange immunity to religious artifacts being used against him and less of a weakness to silver. He is especially skilled at making debilitating blows in hand to hand combat, enjoying the crack of a jaw or the splintering shatter of a pelvis being pummeled to dust.

    Riley Hayesand
"Heroes become martyrs. I'm strictly a survivor."

    Spoiler
    Show

    Alias: The Mind Thief
    Gender: Male
    Race/Species: Human
    Age: 20
    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
    Class/Profession: Thief
    Power Rating: 2
Description: Tall, skinny but not lanky, with wide hazel eyes filled with fear. His oily black hair has a greenish-gray tint to it in the right light, and is almost always a complete mess. His skin is a shallow alabaster color with an almost sickly gray tint to it. The air around him is invariably muggy and has a slightly slimy feel to it, like one is near a foul swamp. He has a word tattooed in a strange language on his lower left arm that translates from Cthuvian as 'claimed'. Due to the brand, he is effectively in his early to mid teen years. The elder gods like veal.

    EDIT:

Riley had his left arm shot off, but it has now been replaced by a prosthetic. The upper half and the shoulder cup are made of transparent plasteel that shows off the wiring and gearwork inside. The lower half is opaque and gray and there's a hole in Riley's palm that serves as the bolt pistol's barrel, and the clip wraps around his wrist. Also, he's now pretty buff for a kid his age, and his skin is a much healthier color. The feeling of death no longer surrounds him, but there's still something off putting about his 'aura'. He can age now, and is closer to seventeen.

Personality: Now substantially more stable, but still generally a coward and well aware of it, though he swears up and down his occasional bouts of heroism are just moments of stupidity. Riley is now somewhat normal thanks to CB's help, and while still very fearful, he is less likely to fly into a panic, and no longer compulsively takes things just to examine them.

Equipment: Nothing but his clothes, his wallet, and simple silver ring at the moment. Oh, and his prosthetic has a bolt pistol built into it.

Abilities: He's pretty much as good at parkour as a human could be. While he's definitely not capable of pulling some assassin's creed type stuff, he can easily lose any mundane pursuers if need be. He also has the ability to steal a physical or mental trait or bestow insanity upon anyone he touches with his bare hands. He cannot touch someone without doing this, so he usually wears gloves. It is extremely uncomfortable for him, and he hears loud, otherworldly, sanity breaking voices. The more traits he steals, the more voices he hears and the shorter the amount of time he can maintain them. He often uses this to knock someone out or make them dizzy so that he can steal from them without worrying about them freaking out at him.

Backstory: Hails from a scifi setting with lots of lovecraftian influences. Wound up getting his arm shot off and replaced with a weaponized prosthetic, went back to try and save the other children from the cult that planned to feed them to Cthulhu and wound up just getting the kids killed and himself mutilated and molested by a yuan-ti woman.

I decided to use a different character format that would be more useful to me. As a note, most my characters come from the same made-up setting, so they might have connections to each other. Or maybe not.

Name after marriage: Maria da Glória Moremi Raquel Liana Iansã de Regina Helena Rafaela de Oronsen Ajasoro Cayetana Amélie Viviane Martinez-Zorzo
Her mother called her Moremi, but after running away she went by Raquel Liana to avoid being recognized.

Harley arrived in the Nexus and immediately joined AMEN...as an intern. She wasn't actually a real member for a while, but was given a condition to join. During that time, she did some things like slaying a dragon and having a water balloon war with GLoG.

After a short while (and after the betrayal of the previous leader), she was chosen as the de facto leader of AMEN (over the other contender, Magtok), and became an official member. During that time, she helped AMEN rebuild (twice), defend against WATCHTOWER and others (twice), infiltrate WATCHTOWER to rescue captured members, indirectly help Magtok free a prisoner from AMEN, fight off some undead, go on a date with Magtok to prank HALO, and so on. Varying success on all occasions.

On the second attack against AMEN, she fought mano-a-mano against Captain Clegg in an epic fight. He immediately destroyed her sword and had her on the ropes, but she pulled together in a lucky last-ditch effort and won - barely surviving. In disguise, she was taken to GLoG to heal. Trying to get away from GLoG, she ran into a string of bad luck. Finally, she returned to AMEN.

Then, she broke. Her mind broke, even as her father's scabbard turned into a gummi worm. She fled, but was (as a great blow to her pride) given magical-girl-type powers by the Dark Lord. Soon afterwards, she let herself be captured by HALO (now VIGIL) so she could talk to Magtok, and she left there with a bad taste in her mouth. She also went on a dungeon crawl to clear her head. I'm not sure how well that worked out for her. Anyway, she snuck back to AMEN, talked to the Dark Lord, he sucked out some black stuff from her orb, and then she went to donate blood because she just gave all the money she earned to an AMEN member, because she owed him a debt.

After wallowing in guilt for a while, she got swarmed and beaten unconscious by some of Marciano's thugs. She found herself chained together with Magtok in some strange terrible dungeon. She also has a Dagger of Shapeshifter's Bane and a bulletproof vest that shapeshifts with her.

Thanks to Mr E and Christmas Magic, she got her father's scabbard back in one piece. Then, she ran for Eastside Councilwoman while disguised as an always-masked Harley Martinez, and somehow won. Possibly due to her platform of "Hey, I'll listen to what you're saying then promise to do it" or however she did it, likely because of Stu's and Mr E's help.

Eventually, she met with Magtok and received contact information to a group that can help rebuild Eastside from the demon invasion.

Shapeshifted as Holly the somewhat-stereotypical scarless (thanks, makeup!) black-haired half-elf -- sorry, half-human -- she received a MERC mercenary license. Later, in this form, she also joined HALO after speaking with Felandria, visited GLoG to use their medical lab equipment, and helped MERC solved a rat infestation in Riverside.

Shapeshifted, she sneaked into Vigil, quickly defeated Awen and disguised herself as her, then fought Wenomir. She did this all to follow-up on a lead she learned as Holly, about the Skinwalkers. Following up on her investigations solely out of curiosity, she continued to seek after the skinwalkers.

    She started to feel lonely.

As a half-elf she ran into Rein after missing the train out of HALO and slept with him, with the promise for future dates. Because of all the stress, her anti-pregnancy plans failed. At about the same time, a vigilante attacked and nearly killed her at her home, destroying almost everything and forcing her to look for a new place to live - she ended up being pretty homeless, alternating between her car, random places on the streets, and the floor of Rein's room because she's too afraid to actually sleep next to someone overnight, due to the nightmares and what happened the last time she did that, with her husband. They went on a repeat date where she revealed herself as a daredevil or maybe adrenaline junkie who does dangerous things that worry him, and they turned into merpeople thanks to some reality-altering moss; thanks to her powers, she accidentally made it so she turns into one whenever she gets wet. Then, in one of her alternate identities - a veterinarian's assistant bunnygirl named Carlie Hopps, she went on a fateful bus tour...which promptly crashed into a nightmarish forest. After fighting an entropy-fish-priest, she realized she was pregnant and, in order to save the embryo's life, had to destroy the protective barrier between her and the baby that would keep them unaffected by each other's shapeshifting and keep the baby safe...as a result, she can no longer shapeshift without possibly killing the baby and was stuck in her bunnygirl form.

Upon returning, Harley was stuck Inside trying to earn money to pay for train fare and to build up the courage to confess to Rein that she's a shapeshifter. There, she met a wendigo from a postapocalyptic world magical girl named Dorothy Mags, found out they work well together, and she gave her her Riverside house and went on to HALO. And then got kidnapped by a snake-monster, lost an eye and got multiple injuries (including a beheading) and then her soul gem erupted into shadows and...
...she once again is terrified to go to sleep in a bed and is hearing voices and seeing things.

Homeless? Last Question. How is the relationship between your PCs and their parents?

Q1. She likes chocolate and strawberries, but the former melts really easily and the latter gets smashed too easily.
Q2. A mask. Sure, she brings a sword out a lot, but she always has a mask handy, mostly because it makes her feel better.
    Q3. Holy/healing magic.
Q4. After a lot of practice, proprioception.
Q5. While she can get ready in minutes, if she has the time then she gives herself a couple of hours.
Q6. If she could choose anything regardless of how unrealistic it is, she'd be a stay-at-home mom.
    Q7. Black Butterfly
    Q8. Romance novels
Q9. Hot weather: it's much nicer and places with cold weather are too dark
Q10. She's got a cheap tiny house in an alley, currently sharing it with the neighbors after their house was destroyed
QLast. Not that good. Her father(?) is long-dead, never cared for her, and she only ever called him 'father' because she thought he was cool, and she thinks her mother is a horrible person and refuses to acknowledge her, even though her mother actually kinda likes her.

    ***Awen the Dreameater
A witch who wants to be a hero but is slowly turning into a hideous snake monster because of connections from beyond the stars.
    Spoiler: Story so far
    Show

Awen was once a maid in a rich noble's house who loved to read stories about heroes of old, who took care of a fox she found. When she had the chance to become the leader of a heroic investigative team for the mayor, she jumped at the opportunity even though she didn't feel like capable of doing it. Their first mission to investigate a suspected cult was a complete failure: the group's beaters followed them back. Most of the team scattered or dead, Awen was captured and taken to some building she had never seen. Thanks to some unexpected explosions and chance encounters, she escaped and met three Fates. Upon leaving the Fate's location through a portal, she found herself lost in the Nexus.

She unknowingly gains magic powers from a nightmarish source and an old prophecy, and because of her mother, she is slowly becoming a terrible snake monster. (Long story short: her mother made a pact with a dead&dreaming god/eldritch being/being who speaks in fae tongues from beyond the stars, who represents transformation from humanity to monsters (such as werecreatures), the moon and stars, and dreams, and it's affecting Awen who was in the womb while the pact was made.) She accidentally renewed the pact, becoming a witch, and gained magic through the fox, a messenger sent by the being.

Soon after arriving here, she joined VIGIL.

She went on a couple "adventures" against demons, cultists, etc; some as a reaction to attacks by demons, some incidental.

When Harley tried infiltrating VIGIL, Awen confronted her, was quickly defeated and poisoned with a neurotoxin, and felt helpless again. In an attempt to no longer be so weak and useless, she tried to grow stronger by summoning a fairy - but the summon was hijacked and she barely survived that encounter with her life, by replacing the summon's life energy with her own. Unable to find the reason why the summon failed, she resigned herself to recovering from her broken ribs.

She still feels guilty about her original team's deaths, blaming herself for it, but she won't tell anybody about it.

Some time after an unfortunate encounter with Violet, she went on a mission for VIGIL related to the demons and a moonwell, where she boarded an airship.

One time while out eating, she helped rescue a succubus who was trapped in a mirror - and lost her right hand as a result, leaving it trapped in the mirror.

In a mock group battle at Vigil, she did well but embarrassed herself and accidentally cast a spell on herself, and is pointedly avoiding mentioning her mind-affecting magics.

Q1. She also likes chocolate while traveling.
Q2. Does a fox count as an item? If so, it's her fox.
Q3. Is confidence a skill? If not, then: she wishes she was good at "being a leader"; it's just not something that comes naturally to her, but she really wants to know how to do.
Q4. Her strongest sense isn't technically a trad. sense, but it's being able to "sense" fae-magic and similar occultish things

Q8. ...new cleaning equipment is what she'd buy
Q9. Hot weather because she gets cold easily.
Q10. Lives in VIGIL's skybase in a small room
Last Question. Although she technically never knew who her parents were, her father knew who she was and they formed a good relationship (although she saw it more as a "lord/servant" relationship because he didn't want to admit he had an illegitimate child) and her mother probably loves her, given that she chose NOT to raise her daughter in a cult to an eldritch being seeking the destruction of civilization...

    Melissa
A demigod from whom truth evades.
    Spoiler: Story so far
    Show

Melissa is the daughter of the demigoddess of strife and chaos, Eris. She basically grew up on the street in a less-than-desirable situation, learning to bring chaos. When she was fifteen, she found a safe haven where she didn't stand out as much and lived there for eight months, before she, feeling unwelcome, she left again for the streets of New York.

The reason why she finds it so hard to fit in is because of her uncontrollable powers. As a daughter of chaos, she naturally brings and causes chaos: Anything true she says sounds like a complete and blatant lie. Those who listen to her voice for periods of time feel that those closest to them will betray them soon. Eye contact with her makes it difficult to tell who is your ally and who is your enemy. In addition, she benefits from the chaos: battle, blood, chaos, and conflict strengthens her.

Brief description: Blond, with a green eye and a blue one. Athletic, tall.

She went to GLoG in order to 'redeem' and gain the traits appropriate of being a hero - bombastic, friendly, loud, etc.

    ***The Scordatura/Juliana de Oliveira Salazar/Juleka
A musician who builds up wild magic energy at an alarming rate and has to regularly release it.
    Spoiler: Story so far
    Show

Never stopping in a single place, the Scordatura wandered the Nexus. Due to an over-build-up of magical energy, she has caused minor problems in Trog's Tavern, Riverside, and Inside so far. Recently, she was seen buying doughnuts in a dirigible. She looks like an average person, but - interestingly and unusually - she looks completely different to every person who looks at her. (she fixed that problem) and if you were from Earth you'd probably say she looks Brazilian? I mean, if there is a generic "Brazilian" look. Which, to be honest, there really isn't because Brazil is a diverse place, but, regardless, I'm rambling. Nordestina? If you know what that means, that means you're pretty cool.

Who is she, and why does she go by "the Scordatura"?

She is, quite possibly, Harley Zorzo's daughter who (miraculously) survived when Harley thought she had died. However, neither of them know this or that the other is in the Nexus or even that the other is still alive. Most likely, no other player here on the Forum knows this, either, given that this is hidden in a spoiler in the Character Directory, and it's pretty rare for someone to read over old posts here. Besides, even if someone was bored enough to read through the Character Directory, they probably wouldn't care. So, and go wild. But, shh! Nobody knows that! Besides, it's entirely possible that Julienja is Harley's niece if you assume Harley's sister, jealous of the seemingly-peaceful life Harley managed to (temporarily) have, ended up committing identity theft, claiming to be the former-revolutionary Harley instead of the former princess she was. Asking Julienne won't help, though, because she ended up losing her core sense of self along the way, at some point.

Anyway, she went to GLoG first, and was left alone while she swiped and read a magazine, the Insider. She then went to VIGIL's HALO base, where she wandered around alone for a while. Then other VIGIL members who didn't know the base arrived, and the Scordatura gave them a tour of the place, while pretending to be a long-time member. Another member briefly confused her for her still-unknown mother, Harley. She was later, while in the Watchtower base, noticed and forced to leave.

Since then, she returned to GLoG, tried to trick people there into thinking she's a longtime member (the person she was talking to was distracted by personal matters) and went to the Med Lab for a tour. After trying to dupe Magtok and getting enlisted to pranking Reinholdt, she entered HALO and got infected by the meme disease that causes non-humans to act like the stereotype for their species.

She keeps on appearing every so often in random places, causing emptiness and loneliness.

    ***Maria, the Exploding Witch
    A probably-insane Exploding Witch.
    Spoiler: Story so far
    Show

When AMEN was seriously damaged, several dark and forgotten things came out of the basement. She was one of them. Since then, she's caused massive explosions, burnings, and destruction in both Inside and Skyside. She had a massive plan of explosive flames in the Audience section of the Great Race in Skyside, and she would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for...

She went to AMEN with an idea to cause bedlam.

Since then she's been helping out at AMEN, even though very little of what she says makes sense.

She has a secret backstory and motive, like lots of my other characters (that she can't remember) but unlike my other characters I'm not going to put it here or in the OoC, so that it remains an actual secret until somebody cares enough to find it out.

She doesn't feel all emotions and sometimes feels none. Going off the "Today I Feel" chart, she has the following emotions, under the following specific circumstances: "confused" - when she recites a poem and can't remember why the poem is relevant, or if the poem doesn't feel right. "disappointed" - when something fails to explode. "happy" - when something in front of her is burning.

    ***Kuriko
A misfortuned goomba student (New Portside College!) who was transformed into a human and has a myriad of other things.
    Spoiler: Story so far
    Show

Kuriko woke up one day in Trog's Tavern, and found herself as a human. She was disoriented and found herself unable to grab things or finish her Thesis (Sociology) thanks to her new limbs. She's living with her brother's family in Inside (she has a niece and nephew), and while she went to Mallside to buy human clothes, everything went wrong. Reading dirty thoughts, being covered in honey, bruised by raining die, nearly going blind due to a potent spicy tear gas...and all that happened her first day as a human. She also found a Dice of Wonder.

She gave the die to Geneva when she returned to Mallside to buy properly-sized clothing. Because of Geneva, she gained the abilities of a Master Plumber, including the ability to jump really really high. Also, she bought indigo underwear that turns her into a indigo succubus with cute feathery wings and small black horns. She used these powers to save and protect small villages around. She's a certified Medical First Responder, so it's totally legal and not vigilanteism at all. Mostly, she deals with natural disasters and uses that opportunity to do field research on her studies.

She has since finished her thesis and defended it. "Adaption and integration of novel cultures into the Nexus"

Now, she's a postdoc at New Portside College who is working on several papers, including "MagTopia: How early Nexitizens determined future culture", "Integration of high-magic and low-magic worlds and how they influence the hodge-podge culture", and "Behavior of recently-assimilated groups and how the assimilating microculture affects the adoption of values" (titles, scope, and research pending).

She's concerned with how the pony population isn't integrating into the rest of society and instead is forming ghettos.

She was one of the people who, under Gordon, helped bring AMEN back to prominence. Swapped bodies, lost lots of her powers, escaped, grew stronger, etc. Due to some family/personal reasons, however, she had to leave, with the promise that she'd return.

Nearly a decade later, she returned while Zefir was in charge. Because Zefir distrusted her, she offered for him to write out a contract. She hung around AMEN, getting to know new members and discussing the organization with them.

When Vigil attacked to retrieve a captured person, one of Requiem's bodies fled due to the presence of a Fae Lord who was assisting Vigil, while the others remained once she calmed down from the panicking. One pretended to be a captured prisoner from AMEN and was brought back with Vigil, only to leave later. (The body, it turns out, was an ex-slave who escaped slavery after being sold into it by her step-father, only to later be captured by Requiem.)

One of her bodies' spirit got corrupted, so she got rid of that spirit. Meanwhile, Tiffany (the body that went back with Vigil) lost contact with the rest of herself, and is now living her own life - since her thinking is a mix of Requiem's and the original body's.

    ****Marin Ixchel
A self-taught mechanic catgirl who works at a MagMart.
    Spoiler: Story so far
    Show
Marin originally came to the Nexus (then a conglomeration of Town and ACRONYMIA) to flee a military regime on Earth, coming to her friend Elly for help after she was collared by an unfortunate will-controlling device. Because of Elly's connections with Magtok, Marin was able to get a a minimum-wage-paying job at a lowly MagMart.

While working at MagMart, she learned many skills including hard work, sales experience, and how to repair robots. And under Magtok's orders to keep an eye on them, she joined NO. (Actually, to be honest, it was probably a ploy just to keep her from hooking up with Elly and taking her away from him.) For a couple years, she became imprisoned by a wizard who wanted a catgirl-maid, and who took advantage of the residual effects of the collar.

After the Magbots were freed, her boss (a Magbot) made the MagMart in Riverside a franchised store, she joined the Magbot MagMart union, and remains a dues-paying member to this day - or, rather, under-member, because they don't allow fleshy meatbags to be actual union members but still require them to pay dues, helping reopen the store after the demons' invasion. She rejoined NO (Well, now it was MERC).

One day, a floating temple appeared and, curious, she entered it. With a bunch of other people, she was enlisted to fight off some beast thing - even though she's not really a combatant and only had a personal-protection pistol on her. While the beast showed up and started attacking, she found an android who had previously fought it (and lost, which is why it was still there) and quickly made some sketchy repairs to it mid-combat, to get it running again. She was gifted a valuable electric blue ribbon as thanks.

At a chance meeting where she did not run into Zee, Marin decided to brave up and speak to Magtok. At a Thanksmas party at HALO, she walked up to him and stared talking with him - the conversation awkward at first because she was awkward and had no idea what to say, while he unintentionally had video recordings of her nude when she curtained with Elly, but then luckily it got better when he gave her his phone number and then Zee gave her a sonic screwdriver.

After embarrassing herself in front of an attractive woman in Trog's Tavern, she realized she probably has a fetish for cybernetics and robotics, in addition to finding curvy/soft animal-girls who she trusts attractive.

It ought to be noted that Marin has 4 ears: 2 human ears and 2 cat ears. It makes sense: sometimes cats have 4 ears. Plus, Marin was born human.
After getting accidentally kidnapped and almost getting burned to death, her skin is now incredibly sensitive.

    ****Zophiel
A very powerful paladin(?) who, in spite of his complicated story, is actually pretty simple
    Spoiler: Story so far
    Show

Zophiel is a man who has been described as "a knight who worked out so much that armor no longer fits". He's pretty large and strong, helpful and kind, and respects all (or, nearly all) gods. He carries around on his back not one, but two huge swords so large it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call them three-handed anime swords. The skyblue one is called Justice and the bloodred one is Mercy. He can easily use both at the same time, if he wishes. And he's a paladin. Well, excommunicated paladin. Well, evil goddess. Well, it's a long story.

Hundreds of years ago, he was in a Paladin's Order called the Purple Unicorn. It was tasked with guarding a portal to the demonic realm which is located in a swamp - or, at least, that's what he thought. In reality, it was working together with the demons to keep a certain evil assassin-goddess under wraps: they bound her as a man and rewrote her memories. In that world, the presence of divinity is the only thing keeping time and space from collapsing on itself, so it was a pretty ingenious plan they had, to trade him off between the two where whenever he began to grow suspicious, the demons would rewrite the memories through their torturous methods, or if the seal weakened the paladins would reapply it using their methods. This worked fine until one of the succubi, Helykaan, grew a conscience.

After confronting the head of his Order - the man he thought of as a father - Zophiel was excommunicated and fled to the Nexus - or, as it was known back then, the Town. Zophiel met a musician named Cleo. They had fun together, went on adventures together, and so on until a random mishap gender-swapped both of them. Zophiel became pregnant and even though Cleo returned to normal, Zophiel didn't, even after becoming a mother. Fairies stole their child (Alkania Leah Danir) and they went off to rescue her. All the meanwhile, the seal was weakening and the memories were returning. With a sudden identity crisis and memories and impulses rushing back, the paladin quickly left the Nexus without properly even explaining what was going on to Cleo or his daughter, leaving them both in a bad place.

He dealt with the Order back at home, ending it, failed to come to terms with him(her)self, and found a way to apply a new seal on his back. Then, nearly a decade later, he returned to the Nexus and found that everything had changed.

Magtok took pity on him and recommended he go to Vigil - but, mistaking its floating island as just an island, Zophiel went to the sea to find it. There, he ran into his daughter (or...one version of her. Long story) on the run from a giant scorpion and a bunch of skeletons. A freak storm cut their reunion short, and they found themselves trapped in Marlick Bay, a town plagued by many mysteries.

After returning and joining VIGIL, he ran into Cleo on his way to see Anchor and learned that he has more daughters than he thought. Shortly afterwards, he caught a curse that turned him into a woman, but even once the curse was removed, he stayed as a woman...again. He seemed to have been expecting that would happen, however. After getting lost a couple times, she met up with Cleo, got some better enchanting ink that will make the magical seal last better, confessed the situation she's in with the four seals (magical seal, physical body differences, a mental seal, and...) - including the most important, her being, slowly being eroded by the goddess within. After coming up with plans to make up for these, she met a hero Ririn who broke into the tower and went along with her on a quest to regain her father's sword, in order to keep her from getting hurt.

She then went to meet up with Leah (who told she some choice words that she really needed to hear), and then went to Cleo's church, and then did some experimentation with Cleo (removing the seals as much as possible; it resulted in Zophiel's powers being revealed as more demonic than initially thought and after completely removing it she didn't even notice anything different - even though there obviously was, what with having 12 limbs and all - and so she was turned back to a man, reapplied all the seals, and then fixed all the time irregularities that were accidentally created by Zophiel's powers). And then he went to go meet Hunter.

    Obsidian
A smol black dragon whose favorite food is undead
    Spoiler: Story so far
    Show

Several years ago, Obsidian was a tiny dragon who hung around the Dancing Fox Inn - after some people there saved her from a dragon slayer. She learned to read, she learned how to have a 'human form', and so on.

Later, she returned onscreen. Went to Trog's Tavern, ordered a zombie llama, and then went to the Mispelled Cematery to hunt zombies and save some for later. While storing a handful of zombies in a tree, she met two other small dragons. Later, she hid her scales (which she removed like a selkie) to go into a weird door, got bit by a zombie, and then went to Vigil (while her immune system was fighting off the zombie bite - she's got a pretty good anti-undead immune system) where she was coerced into giving samples, met another dragon, and just before leaving a huge debacle happened.

    June (Minerva)
Fairly normal redhead human; very androgynous, appears male or female depending on what clothes are being worn.
    Spoiler: Story so far
    Show

June *brown long-sleeve shirt with a couple buttons, shiny gray athleticwear trousers, coral ankle-length socks, black tennis shoes), apparently from a place called Eris, woke up with nothing but the clothes on his back, in a crater in the middle of nowhere. He made his way to Inside and Trog's Tavern and met Sekhmet, but was captured by Cearta's cultists who dressed him up in a french maid outfit and held him hostage in order to get at Zee. He was rescued, and chose to keep the french maid outfit - to wear something while washing clothes. Looking for a quick way to get shelter and food - and not wanting to admit defeat and get them free from GLoG - he interviewed at the Black Dragon Den with Raril and got hired (cook, server, busboy, whatever is needed at the time), got a dagger for self defense, an offer for cheap (until he can get on his feet) housing, and connection to get more clothes from Raril's sister. He also, in order to get more tips, was recommended to dress as a woman; he agreed to practice and do it.

Later that night, June woke up again in a crater in the middle of nowhere, with again just the clothes on his back. Something key was different, but he didn't really care that his body was female. With no idea whether his memories actually happened, or what was going on, he made his way to a train station (closed for the night) and had an interesting encounter with a vampire. Introducing herself as female (and sticking to it), she helped the vampire set up some magic thing in the swamp - at the expense of a sprained wrist, a friction burn on the neck, a weird sensation, and dirty clothes. Cleaning them recolored them (top:amethyst, bottoms:teal, socks:lavender, shoes:jade) and in order to resist mind control and have access to magic, she agreed to drink the vampire's blood. Unfortunately, her clothes were stolen by some kids, with the exception of her ring (and underwear and a brand-new 'silk' bra made from spider webbing spit). In exchange, she unlocked 'The Seer' power, able to see ghosts, see in the dark and around corners kind-of, see people's spirits better through their eyes, speak telepathically with Wanessa when nearby, etc.

Getting back to the BDD, she discovered that...there's two of her. Same mind. Very disorienting. June - the 'ghoul' - and Minerva when they're both together. Or at other times. It's all very confusing. Don't ask her. First name: Nikki. True name: Samantha. After all that was taken care of, and June worked at the BDD, went to a library, teased a dumb book, and so on.

    Ariel's Legion

A bio-engineered race created by the Scion of K'rax Ariel White, the Legion are post-humans, infested with nanites that alter their body and, to a certain extent, their mind, as well as implanting then with a polyp of K'rax's power.

    Spoiler: Infestation
    Show
There are two ways for a humanoid to become a member of the Legion: Infestation via the Progenitor Drones, and being converted by another Legionnaire.

The Progenitors are robots designed by Ariel with a single purpose in mind: To burrow into a humanoid and release a flood on nano-mechanical organisms. These organisms quickly begin altering their host, and within moments, the unlucky victim has become a Legionnaire in body in mind.

However, the organisms continue to replicate within their host, and part of the Legionnaire base template is channels forming through any pre-existing natural weapons, as well as any that are part of their mutation that are able to convey the Legion organisms into any being that they injure. However, for the same speed of infection as the Progenitors to be achieved, the wound inflicted must be both deep and the natural weapon must be held there for a few moments to ensure the maximum flow of nanites; Otherwise, the changes are slower, and, from a glancing wound, can take up to a week.

    Spoiler: Strains
    Show
Just as there are multiple roles within a hive, there are multiple Strains of Legionnaire: Soldier, Defender, Healer, Pilot, and Infiltrator, as well as a Queen. However, all these strains have a base template in common; They all have a bio-mechanical carapace of varying strength, three toes arranged with two toes in front and one in the back, insectile wings capable of flight, and a face more-or-less similar to their human one.

Soldiers: Soldiers are the main attack force of the Legion. They are lithe and agile, and possess claws as their main weapon that are capable of infecting others with the Legion organism. Their carapace is capable of turning away solid projectile weapons up to about .75 caliber, but is vulnerable to most energy weapons beyond the lowest power.

Defender: This strain has a much heavier carapace, capable of defending against anti-tank weapons, as well as most energy weapons. Their main weapon is a polearm-like growth they can extend out of their hands as will, and serves as a conduit for their Nanites.

Healer: The healer strain has no weapons, instead possessing bio-mechanical tendrils that carry modified nanites that can repair another Legionnaire's form, or infect other humanoids at an accelerated rate. However, the price they pay for this is a weaker carapace, and their's is about as effective as a standard bulletproof vest

Pilot: The pilot strain is similar to the Healer strain, with a carapace of the same strength and similar tendrils as well. However, their modification to their nanites allows them to infect machines that would normally require a crew of up to 10-11 men, and operate them alone, and a crew of them can multiply their strength.

Infiltrators: Infiltrators are just as insidious as their name implies: They possess the same basic carapace as the Soldiers, but their weapons are retractable forearm blades, and they possess the ability to shift into any humaniod form they've seen before.

    A Certain Scholar

    Gender: Female
    Race: Human Demon
Age: 320; Appears to be 27
    Alignment: True Neutral
    Profession: Explorer
Power Level: B-/B+/A-, depending on circumstance.

Appearance: A Certain Scholar appears to be a young woman with drawn back black hair and bright-green eyes. She most often wears plain grey robes, though they are enchanted with various spells, allowing them to turn back blades, bullets, and rays, as well as increase her casting abilities. She also now has demonic horns, dark red skin, goat ears, as well as bat wings, a demonic tail, talons, retractile claws, prehensile hair, and sharpened teeth and a forked tongue thanks to her demonic transformation. She also now lacks eyes of any sort, though she can sense things magically.

Personality: A Certain Scholar is quiet and withdrawn, carefully thinking about her actions before going through with them, though that doesn't make her very ethical...More, driven. And, through her dealings with all manner of outsiders, she's also learned to be somewhat pedantic, phrasing everything she says very specifically and without loophole

Abilities: A powerful mage, A Certain Scholar doesn't use Vancian magic. Instead, she learns spells, and, in learning them, makes them a part of her soul, cast-able without preparation. However, casting for her is very exhausting, and she can't cast more that six or seven spells in rapid succession without wearing herself out. Thanks to her demonic transformation, she is now, while lacking sight, is able to see magically through walls, detect souls, enchantments, and spirits. As well, she can also manipulate and corrupt mortal souls thanks to her new demonic nature.

Equipment: An old staff that she uses to channel her magical powers, a la Dark Souls. She can't cast without it.

Backstory: Sadly for our record, A Certain Scholar has struck all traces of her identity outside of her highly-guarded mind from the universe to keep it from being used against her. All we know is that she very carefully wards herself every day, timed to give her only a moment's vulnerability each day, as well as being well-versed in most Mortal languages from across the multiverse, as well as several Outsider languages.

Notes: Cured of the werefox curse after a nice day at the Temple of Inari. Transformed by a demon's deals into a demon herself.

    Race: Russian Blue Catgirl
Class: Villain I AM A HEROINE NOW
Alig: NE I AM GOOD NOW
    Age: 24

Desc: Khat is a pale, pretty young lady whose hair, as well as her ears and tail, is the distinctive blue-grey of a Russian Blue. She wears tortoiseshell pince-nez with a silver chain, a sea-green waistcoat, and dove-grey slacks with almost obsessively polished white tanker boots. She has striking green eyes and pointy little teeth.

Abilities: Damn good driver, damn good shot, and not too bad when it comes to punching someone in the face.

Personality: She's pretty dedicated to the whole "trying to be good" thing, but hasn't quite left behind the trappings of villainry, the sheer hamminess.

Misc: Name comes from Taet's typing of "cat von shouldre mow" in chat.

Personality: D-Tox is a calm individual who prefers to solve his problems through debate and logical thought processes than with brute force and/or violence. He posesses a natural sense of curiosity that drives him to a near-obsessive fascination with his craft. This is not to suggest that he disregards or mistreats his patients, though; he simply needs to be reminded of his priorities on occasion.

Background: Daniel Kimball, more commonly known by the alias "D-Tox", came to the Nexus at the age of fourteen, brought by his grand-parents. He was suffering from an unknown poison ravaging his heart, and no cure could be found in his homeworld. Thanks to the endless possibilities present in the Nexus, it didn't take too long to procure and administer a suitable antidote.

It did, however, come at a cost: Daniel's body became too weak to travel across dimensions again, meaning that he was trapped in the Nexus. Merely thankful that he was alive at all, he came to terms with his condition rather quickly and adapted well to his new home. Inspired by the generosity of those who had helped him, he aspired to take up the art of medicine himself and use his skills to provide aid to others.

Though his kin have since passed away, Daniel has realized his vision and become a practitioner of natural medicines. He recently moved to Inside, where he opened his practice, and has been continuing his studies of the Nexus' indigenous plant life since. He frequently makes expeditions into the untamed areas of the Nexus to gather materials and investigate rumors of rare and exotic plants.

    Trivia
    • Most people are divided on the matter of D-Tox's stature; the question of whether he suffers from Marfan Syndrome or whether he's just very tall and frail remains unconfirmed. In his youth, he enjoyed letting on that he was an alien in disguise, but he has thankfully left that phase of his life behind him.
    • D-Tox has always had his spikes, which have earned him a few endearing nicknames here and there. Where he comes from, though, that kind of unique trait isn't that uncommon, so he has to adjust to the weird looks he occasionally gets from others. He's got good control of them, though, so there's no danger of getting stuck by them by accident.

    Raziel, the Sanctified Lich

    Name/Alias: Raz, Raziel

    Gender: Male

    Race: Lich (Previously human)

    Age: 374

    Alignment: Chaotic Good

    Class/Profession: Necromancer

    Power Rating: Solid B-

    Description:

Bonafide lich with all the perks of undeath including the lack of flesh and tissue. His eyes are replaced with two piercing, and often unnerving white pits of magical energy. He wears a robe with a hood normally up to cover the majority of his face as to not inspire unwanted reactions. A swirling halo of divine energy can be found always right above his skull.

    Personality:

His demeanor is normally grim, though he can be seen as realistic most of the time. He often acts on impulse what with his new-found sense of morality still feeling a bit foreign to him. He's recently attained an unnatural hatred for the undead and all other necromancers as well as most evil in general, really. Often gets a little preachy. The majority of his magic has been developed to combat what he originally symbolized.

    Equipment:

    >Scythe: Raziel wields a scythe imbued with the power to destroy only the undead. Should it hit living tissue, it would simply pass through. On contact with undead, however, it channels divine energy into the creature thus obliterating most undead. Upon close inspection, the scythe itself is actually rather blunt, with no sharpened edge at all.

    >Phylactery: Raziel's phylactery is in a location unknown to him, taken by a cleric many years ago. Through a (purposefully vague) divine ritual, the cleric cleansed Raziel's soul within the phylactery, permanently changing his alignment. Should he be destroyed, Raziel will regenerate in a location that's yet to be revealed.

    Abilities:

    >Hallowed Necromancy: Raziel is capable of creating, controlling and destroying undead through various spells and incantations. He's also pretty well versed in most other necromantic spells through means of his past as an evil necromantic lich. He can cause any undead he raises to explode at will, emanating with positive energy that would heal living creatures and damage undead. Most of his necromantic magic has been altered to intermingle with positive energy in ways similar to that already mentioned.

    >Divine Magic: Raziel has also been equipped with a magical arsenal similar to a cleric of his alignment and level. He can buff, heal and even resurrect people as would a cleric.

    >Lichdom: He is a lich, and therefor a bit hard to kill through mundane methods. His skeleton is resistant to most regular, non-magical weaponry. He's immune to the cold, and basically has all other applicable bonuses that a lich would get in the d20 universe.

    Backstory:

Raziel was born poor and delved into the dark arts at an early age. He was prodigious, and later figured out how to bind his soul to a phylactery and achieved Lichdom once he died. After becoming a lich, he expanded his knowledge of necromancy and was a feared, and absolutely evil menace. After a cleric and his allies brought down the lich, and stole his phylactery, the cleric had begun preforming experiments on it. That same cleric, with the help of his order, then unraveled a way to cleanse the lich's soul and employ it to work for the cause of good. They shifted the creature's alignment, altered known spells and erased particular memories, essentially engineering a holy lich.

    Charles Nex

    Alias:The Son of the Nexus
    Gender:Male
    Race:Human
Age:25, but appearing around 30-35 (Not counting the bits where he was dead)
    Alignment:Chaotic Good
    Profession:Wandering Necromancer
Power Level:Wildly varies from as low as 3 to as high as 5, or D+ to B, depending on the power of his bells.
Description:A tall, thin man wearing an enormous black coat, top hat, glasses, gloves, an inordinately shiny pair of shoes and an unusual leather bandoleer around his chest that contains seven bells that range in size from a tiny one the size of a small pill bottle to a larger one the size of a jar. He has pale skin which is only visible in patches due to his tendency to wear a lot of clothing. He also has a variety of scars and tattoos dotted around all of his body except the face. His right eye has a scar across it, but he still maintains perfect vision through it. He has blue, piercing eyes and chestnut brown hair, worn in a ponytail.
Personality:Despite wearing an enormous amount of black clothing, Charles is normally very friendly and bright. He loves to learn and try new things, find new places and live a life of adventure. He has an optimistic outlook on life and is very rarely angry. However, when he is angry, he will stop at nothing to destroy, defeat, or otherwise attack the source of his anger. He believes that if the ends are important enough then they almost invariably justify the means, unless there would be more loss of life than life saved. He is not exactly flighty or capricious, but he is very adaptable with a tendency to nervousness under pressure. As a wanderer by nature, he prefers not to stay in any one place for too long.
Equipment:Only his visible clothing, but his coat is very special. Any non-unique item he has put into his coat (So not items belonging to other players, world shattering artifacts etc.) can be taken out of the pockets again. This is due to a series of portals and hammerspaces that replicate and duplicate items as needed. This means he can bring just about anything he needs out of his coat. When someone else tries to use the pockets of the coat, their hands typically get eaten.
The bandoleer of bells Charles carries are also unusual. The bells are all silver, with dark, deeply polished mahogany handles. They are covered in magical markings and runes. The have effects that they have are as follows. The bells are listed by size.
Ranna, the Sleeper-This bell has a sweet, low sound that leaves silence in its wake. It can put people to sleep, including the ringer, if used.
Mosrael, the Waker-This bell has a harsh, rowdy sound. It drains life energy from the ringer and transfers it to the listener. The listener does not need to be living.
Kibeth, the Walker-This bell has a variety of sounds, and is difficult to control. It can grant power and freedom to the dead, or force them further into the state that is death.
Dyrim, the Speaker-This bell is clear and melodious in tone, with a pretty tone. It can return memory and speech to the listener, or take it away.
[I]Belager, the Thinker/I]-This bell often tries to ring on its own, and is the bell with the greatest degree of sentience, though none of the bells are truly sentient. It can restore independent thought and memories to the living and the dead, or erase them if used carelessly.
Saraneth, the Binder-The deepest and lowest bell. It has a strong, powerful sound that binds listeners to the ringers will.
Astarael, the Sorrowful-A weapon of last resort, this bell destroys the life force of any who hear it. Including the ringer.
With the exception of Astarael, all of the bells have their power influenced by the temperature, (more power when cold, less when hot), the direction of the wind (more from the North, less from the South) and the presence of the dead (More corpses = More power).
Abilities:Charles has had at least some training with just about every weapon and in just about every combat style known to man, and a not inconsiderable number that aren't. He is versed in the use of necromancers bells (see above) and can achieve similar but much more limited effects by whistling or humming. He also has a damn fine singing voice if he doesn't say so himself and can play a number of musical instruments flawlessly.
Backstory: Born to unknown parents, he was found in a large black box in Mallside as a baby. He was raised by most of the shopowners of the time, and he worked for his keep as soon as he was able. As such, he considers himself to have been "raised by the Nexus", and that was how he decided upon his last name, Nex. He acquired a number of skills before setting off to explore the Nexus proper at around 18.
He spent the next 6 years exploring before he finally met someone who both wanted to kill him and was able to pull it off. The man then bound a fragment of Charles' soul to his body and used him as a slave. Then, roughly a century later, the man unintentionally rang Belager, the Thinker bell, and restored Charles to consciousness. Charles proceeded to kill the necromancer and take his bells, though not before draining him of his life force and taking his coat.
In the year since then, Charles has been making his way back to the Nexus in the hopes of finding someone he might meet.
Misc: Unless they have lived for more then a normal human lifetime, it is unlikely that anyone would remember Charles, and if they did they would remember him as considerably younger, unscarred and untattoed (well, mostly) due to his time as a corpse having made him appear, though not feel, older than he is.

    Marcus Runeheart

    Name/Alias: Mark, Sigil

    Gender: Male

    Race: Human

    Age: 24

    Alignment: Lawful Neutral

    Class/Profession: Signomancer

    Power Rating: C+/B-

    Description:

Mostly blue and black attire with a flowing cloak covered in various symbols. Deep, blue eyes and similar short hair. He carries a wooden staff and his haversack containing a multitude of books. He always looks a bit jumpy and tense. His motions and overall behavior are normally very sudden and to the point.

    Personality:

Mark can be very uptight at times. Most of his colleagues knew him as that guy who'd never get caught breaking a rule and would dislike it when others did. Though his magic can cause him to react capriciously from time to time, he significantly hates acting that way and grudgingly accepts that he can only do his best to find order in the chaotic nature of magic. Most of what he does is predetermined before he does it, as he doesn't feel comfortable acting without it being planned in advance. His friends would call him fair and reliable while his enemies would call him careful and persistent.

    Equipment:

    >Staff: Mark's staff is used as a catalyst to improve the potency of his magic. Within it is stored his most commonly used magic, so that he doesn't need to refer to his books on more complicated spells. He's able to retrieve his staff through means of it flying back to his hand as long as something isn't preventing it to do so. If a being other than Marcus is holding the staff, they are continually drained of their magical energies and fatigued as long as they aren't wearing the multitude of runes found on Mark's clothes, preventing this effect.

    >Books: Mark studies magic, and has been doing so since he could read. He carries with him a small, personal library that he uses for reference when casting certain spells that he doesn't often use.

    >Robes/Cloak: His clothing is almost a walking book of runes and sigils dulling the effect of most magic and amplifying a few of his abilities. He can jump a good twenty feet in the air and fall any distance while landing unharmed. His resilience to mundane attacks such as a good old fashioned fist to the face is almost nullified. The pain is felt in full, where most of the actual damage like lacerations and bruising don't normally take effect. Because of this, he still tries to dodge most attacks.

    Abilities:

    >Signomancy: All the magic that Marcus uses is cast in the form of symbols. Runes, etchings and sigils are the medium through which he practices his art. He's well adept in most elemental magic and very few mind effecting abilities, but all he casts must be done in this method. It's difficult for Marcus to cast any markings on reflective surfaces such as polished metal or mirrors, as they'd reflect or refract the spells like they would a ray of light, changing the location where the mark would be made.

    >Mental Training: Mark's memory is astounding. He and most all family members before him were magi of the same kind. Because of this, his mental aptitude was forged at a very early age. He's willful and very resistant to urges both natural and placed on him. Mental compulsions are resisted a bit more than normal thanks to a his robes as well.

    Backstory:

Marcus was raised in a well known family of magi with a lineage to uphold. His childhood consisted of strict foundations supported by countless rules and taboos. He didn't much like the aristocratic lifestyle he could see himself getting absorbed into, and subsequently left to become an adventurer. It was last year that he was battling creatures with his allies when an aberration he wasn't familiar with ambushed his party. Unprepared, Mark couldn't react in time before he was hit by a strange, chaotic magic. When he awoke, he found himself in the nexus, along with his belongings.

    Name: Unknown

Alias: Lheticus, the One Who Sees
    Gender: Male
    Race/Species: Human.
    Age: 29
    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
    Class/Profession: Dimensional Traveler
Power Rating: C-Rank (Neon Knight scale) "Very good at not dying"
Description: Long hair dyed silver, medium tan and build, 5'9 height, green eyes. Clothes glamoured to appear natural in whatever dimension Lheticus finds himself in, and colored grey and brown to blend in with crowds. They do not provide physical protection, but do allow for the concealment of a wide variety of items. Always carries a flask and a bag with a travelers kit, and is often seen with a hi-tech device--his "Planar Compass".
Personality: Arrogant, but usually with the skills to back it up. Prefers to watch mayhem unfold rather than involve himself in most cases--or covertly start that mayhem then slip away unnoticed. Extremely cold and uncaring toward, well, everyone.
Equipment: Glamoured clothing, planar compass, travelers bag with weight lessening magic applied (not as good as a bag of holding, reduces the weight of anything inside it by about half for whoever carries it.) Between 6-10 throwing daggers. (concealed) and poison to coat them with (his usual dose incapacitates for several hours rather than being fatal...unless he thinks someone is worth killing) A spellbook.
    Abilities:
Lheticus: "What's that you ask, my abilities? Among those few across the multiverse who know of my existence, I am known as "the one who sees", because of a bit of a parlor trick that makes it seem as though I can see the future, a la Jedi a few seconds before it happens. I was born with superhuman hearing--I can locate and identify the source of even quiet sounds almost as though I have echolocation. On top of this, I've trained my eyes to TRULY see everything around me, so when pressed to defend, I can read the smallest shifts in an assailant's body weight and the tiniest changes in the environment to anticipate any attacker's next move and how to overcome it without fail. I've also gained moderate proficiency with virtually any weapon you could name as a result of spying on and sometimes legitimately enrolling in training courses for them across the multiverse, including elemental based magic. It's this final method as well as throwing daggers coated with poison that I prefer to use--I assure you, I don't use a lethal dose unless you REALLY annoy me--and if I think those are no good, I'll make do with whatever I can find lying around. What's that? I have to have a weakness of some kind? Tch, I didn't want to reveal it but...my endurance is at a level many would call "pathetic". If I fail to defeat my foe or escape them quickly, it doesn't take long at all before my situation reading skills won't matter--I won't be able to react quickly enough to stop them in many cases even seeing their moves coming. Ugh, I hope not a lot of players read this..."

    Backstory:

Lheticus: "First off, Lheticus is in fact an alias. Don't ask me what's my real name--I will not tell you. I'm an interdimensional traveler, constantly searching for interesting worlds to go to and interesting sights and events to witness. I originally hail from good old Earth (or a version of it anyway) and was always obsessed with amusing myself, almost always at the expense of others--sometimes mortally at their expense, or if someone annoys me enough, they also find living to be a rather difficult thing to continue doing.

It was never enough, until I learned of a device under top secret development that was capable of locating, stabilizing, and opening portals to other worlds. I managed to steal it in a plot fully worthy of that Ocean person, despite a few complications along the way, and haven't looked back since. Survival was difficult at first, but I eventually managed to pick up the skills needed to subsist in both wild reaches beyond imagination and civilized areas more alien than actual extra-terrestrials.

For a long time, I was content to survive, explore, and observe every world I found myself in, but lately I've had the most dastardly itch to involve myself in the affairs of someplace, heedless of the trouble I'm well aware I'd bring upon myself. For an even longer time, I've been searching, using the jump device with a few modifications added, for a path to one certain world that by what I've been able to learn is the most interesting of all...and I've sadly yet to even come close. In the meantime, I've landed in the Nexus, and I'm not particularly happy about it either--there are so many ways off this world to so many other worlds that my Planar Compass is totally overloaded! The first thing I simply MUST do is look into solving this problem, or I could actually get stuck here! I can't just open a portal to who knows where--it could lead to somewhere totally unsafe! What to do...first, I'd better gather information about this place."

    Mustardseed
    Alias: N/A
    Gender: Female
    Race/Species: Undead Pixie!
Age: 27 years alive, 105 years dead.
    Alignment: Neutral
    Class/Profession: Necromancer/Biologist
    Power Rating: B-
Description: Mustardseed is seven inches tall, with black, insectile wings. Her skin tone is ghostly white and sunken, what with being undead and all. She wears a black robe and a black beanie (no unpanned hipster-glasses though.) She doesn't see the point of wearing shoes when her feet don't touch the ground.
Personality: Mustardseed is usually friendly, although hates racists towards undead. She wants to be in love with someone- although it's not usually vice versa, cause zombies are cold.
Equipment: Not a lot. A staff and a wallet and a fake I.D. (because the pixie drinking age is 200)
    Abilities: Both plants and zombies!
Backstory: Very simple. How did your character come to be? "To Come Later" is an acceptable substitute for a long and extensive backstory. Even Especially if you conveniently 'forget' to develop it.
Miscellaneous: Loves cooking, hates bugs, likes hot girls n' boys.

    Alistair Benjamin Boldwin

    Spoiler
    Show

    Alias:
    None, at the moment
    Gender: Male
    Race/Species: Human
    Age: 30
    Alignment: Legal Neutral. Probably.
    Power Rating: B/B+
    Spoiler: Description
    Show
Alistair is a slim, slightly taller-than-average (human average) man, with dark brown short hair and slightly pale skin. He usually has an elegant demeanor, and a piercing stare: his green eyes are the eyes of someone who has watched people die, and who has killed; the eyes of someone who has had to make difficult decisions, and not always decided for the best; the eyes of someone who has seen the darkness of the world, and sometimes has had to embrace it. He speaks with a deep, calm voice, and always wears a black trench coat, black leather gloves and a (once again, black) fedora. Also, he never separates from his umbrella, which he uses as a walking cane since he limps noticeably. Other than this, he has nothing particularly remarkable…at least nothing visible: under his clothes, he has a hideous scar extending from his left armpit to his right knee.

    Spoiler: Personality
    Show
An idealist when he was younger, now Alistair is a hardened man. He believes that the end justifies the means, and although he prefers to avoid collateral damage and the use of lethal force, he won’t hesitate if he is ordered to, or if it is the better choice; “better” referring to the pros/cons ratio. Indeed, he tends to analyze and evaluate almost every situation under this aspect, earning him the fame of “cold and calculating”: that is not generally true, for he values companions and friends, but he is conscious that emotions cloud one’s judgment and when on a mission he tries to set them aside.
That said, he is a calm, well-mannered man, and prefers to be the one carrying out orders rather than the one giving them: one can figure he wasn’t very happy when he was forced to retire behind a desk…

    Spoiler: Equipment
    Show
The umbrella: though it is physically identical to a normal umbrella, this one is constructed with titanium alloy and Kevlar-like fibers, and has a spring-loaded silver-coated blade hidden in the tip.

    Spoiler: Abilities
    Show
Telekinesis: Alistair is a powerful telekinesist, and has honed his ability during his years of service as field agent. He can use it in a variety of offensive, defensive and utility ways.
Grave injury: His wound has never completely healed, limiting his right leg’s mobility and causing sharp pains from time to time…usually the wrong times.

    Spoiler: Backstory
    Show
Born in London, 1953, from the wealthy Boldwin family, Alistair was recruited by the Paranormal Security Bureau (the classic secret governmental organization) at the age of 15, when his powers started awakening. Once finished training (and school), he became a fully-fledged field agent of the PSB and started protecting Her Majesty’s Kingdom from all sorts of paranormal perils. After some years, his name was spoken with admiration by allies and with dread by enemies: he foiled many threats, and even if sometimes he committed morally questionable acts they were in the name of humanity’s safety: sacrifice one to save the other 999. He became so powerful that some people started to think he was undefeatable…until that day. Though the PSB ultimately emerged victorious, in that raging battle many lives were lost (or worse): Alistair survived, but he was grievously wounded, and was forced to retire from the field. Promoted to vice-director of the Bureau, he continued to try protecting humanity from behind his desk: after two years, he was recalled on the field one last time to help recover an ancient artifact…that shunted him to the Nexus. Once one of the most powerful beings on Earth, Alistair must now survive in this world where he is just one of the many, and a good part of that “many” is made of beings he used to see as enemies…will he adapt, or succumb?

    Spoiler: Krogan Biology
    Show
    Copypasted from Mass Effect Wiki
Due to the brutality of their surroundings, natural selection has played a significant role in the evolution of the krogan. Unlike most sentient species, krogan eyes are wide-set - on Earth, this is common among prey animals, and in this case it gives the krogan 240-degree vision, giving them greater visual acuity and awareness of approaching predators. Krogan eyes have narrow pupils. Their irises may be red, green, amber, or blue in color. Prior to the genophage, krogan could reproduce and mature at an astonishing rate. Females are known to produce clutches of up to 1,000 fertilized eggs over the course of a year. Their large shoulder humps store fluids and nutrients, enabling them to survive extended periods without food or water. A bigger shoulder hump is seen as a sign of high status, showing how successful an individual krogan is at hunting. Their thick hides are virtually impervious to cuts, scrapes or contusions, and they are highly resistant to environmental hazards, including toxins, radiation, and extreme heat and cold. Consequently their diets can include food and drink which would prove very dangerous to other species—a fact reflected in the krogan liquor of choice, ryncol, which is said to "hit aliens like ground glass". Younger krogan have yellow or green markings on their hides. These markings darken to brown or tan over time, showing their age.

Krogan typically stand over 7 feet and weigh roughly one ton in armor. Biotic individuals are rare, though those who do possess the talent typically have strong abilities. The most amazing physiological feature of krogan biology is the multiple instances of major organs. These secondary (and where applicable, tertiary) systems are capable of serving as back-ups in the event of damage to the primary biological structures. They have, for example, two hearts, four lungs, and four testicles. This reflects in their slang, where they often speak about a "quad" where a human would use the words "balls" or "pair". Krogan also have a secondary nervous system using a neuroconductive fluid, meaning they are almost impossible to paralyze. Krogan bleed a yellow or orange fluid when shot, which may be this fluid or actual blood.
Aside from redundant systems, the legendary krogan "blood rage" adds to the race's reputation for being notoriously difficult to kill or incapacitate in normal combat scenarios. In this state, krogan become totally unresponsive to pain and will fight to the death regardless of injury level, with the side effect of reducing their capacity for logic and self-control.
Sheer physical hardiness means an individual krogan can expect to live for centuries. Krogan can live for well over a thousand years, as evidenced by Warlord Okeer, a veteran of the Krogan Rebellions who died (of decidedly unnatural causes) well over a thousand years after the Rebellions ended.

Despite their natural propensity for toughness, krogan do have physical weaknesses. According to Zaeed Massani, if one lodges a knife at a certain spot near the frontal plate on a krogan's head, the plate can be ripped off. It is apparently the one thing krogan do fear.

Combat training: Wraal has fought for centuries, so he does know a thing or two on combat…
Biotic: Wraal can use the eezo nodules in his organism to produce mass effect fields, with a variety of effects.

    Species Entry: Evil Shapeshifter

An Evil Shapeshifter is one of the many kinds of shapeshifters who appeared during the Shadow Wars, between the Great Technological War and the Deunification of Earth, circa 3874 AD. They are one of the most humanlike shadow beings from this era, which almost spelled certain doom for the Shining Human Alliance, causing many nations to be ravaged by their enemies, the Shadow Beasts.

Evil Shapeshifter is, of course, just a rough translation of their actual names in their vile native language. It's actually pronounced something along the lines of "Tsthskhsss tz ssfpsth" (as, it has been discovered, most species of Shadow Beasts and their allies lack the ability to form vowel sounds, owing to the distinct lack of pulmonary function) or, as a more scholarly translation from the Latin says, "Shadowed Traitor." Some scholars hypothesize that Evil Shapeshifters have evolved to actually feel some semblance of human feeling and thought - however, this is unproven and highly controversial. The accepted theory is that they only feel the basest of thought and desire - hunger, pain, etc. - and everything beyond that is merely a mimicry (much like a parrot) in order to draw closer to their prey, us humans. To this day, it is unknown what happened to them following the Shadow Wars - it is assumed they fled from the Shadowy Armies and began masquerading themselves as humans, waiting for the right moments to attack good and righteousness and light everywhere the might be. Every few years, a crazed farmer or a nearly-dead traveler tells tories of how they met one out late at night and barely escaped with their life.

Their appearance is as fluid as water, but it is always humanlike. They can change their own body to look however they wish it to be. Exactly how they do this is unconfirmed, but some old research notes from hundreds of years ago may give us some clues: It was written that they can grow bony spikes at will, reshape or recolor their skin, produce deadly amounts of electricity, secrete poisons and flammable gases from their glands, and even quickly regrow removed vitals. From experimental data, it appears only exhaustion can prevent them from fully utilizing their powers to escape capture. Records also suggest high levels of pain or stress - or, alternatively, a removal of their unnaturally high levels of Natural Chaotic Energy (NCE) - cause them to mutate uncontrollably. The reason for this is unknown, but other lab studies may shed some light on this mystery.

Some blood and DNA analysis was difficult due to the samples quickly mutating beyond study. However, it was shown that their blood contains several unknown proteins which can rapidly alter any exposed strands of DNA and other proteins. However, this does not explain how they can control these random mutations - which is why I, Lucas Q. Vilca, legendary explorer and wordsmith, hypothesize how they work: I believe, based on evidence I have uncovered, that their large amounts of NCE (known by the vulgar folk as the common word "magic") which courses through their veins controls and dictates which cells and proteins to mutate, giving them immense control over their beastly bodies.

If you are ever to meet an Obumbrata Proditorem, or Evil Shapeshifter, remember this: They are incredibly deceptive. At a moment's glance, they will betray and devour you. If you suspect that you met one, do not trust it. Do not turn your back on it. Kill it as soon as you can.

Thank you once again for listening to Lucas Q. Vilca's radio edition of A-Z Deadly Monsters. Thank you, and remember to tune in next week for the legendary Ewarkii.
