Two figures stood at the edge of a clearing in the centre of dense woodland, one was tied up and held by the other.

So your a paladin... I knew a paladin once, not the greatest person I have ever met, went by the name of... ha listen to me, I have a job to do.

The captor, named habicht, grabbed the silent paladin and threw him into the centre of the glade.

So... I have the guy you wanted... are you going to take him or should I just leave him here... hello?

A chill breeze swept through the clearing and a small amount of thick fog began to form, soon the fog parted as a hooded man stepped from it.

Ha ha ha, it was fun to watch, your skills were very entertaining I must say, to just take a paladin like that, bravo, but I must say I've gotten rather bored with this now, you can do what you want with him.

What... no, no I am not just going to 'do what I want with him', it took me a huge amount of effort to get this paladin and your telling me you sent me to do it for entertainment, you mock me and my profession.

Habicht walked up to the Hooded man, frowning.

The man threw a ring onto the flaw next to Habicht, he picked it up and quickly placed it in his pocket, then continued to frown at the him.

I know it is not gold but it is a ring that will protect you from some of those paladins you hate so much... is something wrong...

Maybe you misheard me or maybe your just a patronising fool, when I capture someone, either my contractor or I must kill that captive, if not the my honour is greatly offended, also I am not too happy when I learn that one of my jobs was just a man's afternoon entertainment, now please do something with this... where did the paladin go?

The paladin had escaped and was nowhere to be seen.

Oh come on it was just a bit of fun, and hey if you don't want to join in with the joke then I have heard of another assassin by the name of Recaiden who I am sure will get me another paladin, oh paladins, nature's good doing jesters, ha ha ha.

I swear that I will restore my honour, I will kill that paladin, that dishonourable pig and if he gets in my way, Recaiden.

Habicht left the clearing, feeling ashamed.

Kurama new she only agreed to it out of pity, but he was still glad. At least she knew now how he felt about her. He hoped she would not mind too terribly.
Kurama had promised to pick Viola up at nine o' clock. Which was silly since they shared a room. So Viola quietly sat in a chair, reading her book while he was across the room, lying is bed. He was excited for tonight, but nervous too. He hoped this would not ruin their friendship. He loved Viola, but she was also his best friend and his partner on top of that. He could not stand to lose her.
The very second the clock hit nine, Kurama leaped out of bed.
Time to go!
Viola sighed and got up out of her chair, dog-earing a page in her book so she would not lose her place.
They did not have to go far. Since they were not allowed to leave the grounds of the Academy, they went down to the dining hall, which was empty by now.
Viola gasped.
I have to admit Kurama, I am impressed. You really went all out for this didn't you.
Kurama rubbed the back of his head humbly.
It was n-nothing... I just wanted everything to be perfect for you.
The dark dining hall was very different from it's usual mess. It was cleaned up and decorated, and candles were spread out around the place for a more romantic feel.
As they sat down, there was a question Viola absolutely had to ask.
How did you ever convince Mordakai to let you use this place? I mean for an important event maybe, but he would never allow a date.
Kurama chuckled nervously.

You didn't get permission from Mordakai did you?
Kurama shook his head, causing Viola to sigh and roll her eyes.

Viola turned as Penny came out of the kitchen, quite literally floating.
And what can I do for you folks today?
Viola tried to restrain herself from laughing as Kurama ordered.
I will um... have what he is having.
She answered with a grin, motioning to Kurama.
While they were waiting for Penny to return with their food, Viola smiled.
This was very sweet of you Kurama. Thank you.
She was glad the dim lighting hid her red cheeks.
Kurama was about to reply when the Penny arrived with the food.

They ate and talked for about an hour before they finally decided they were done. They cleaned up, said goodbye to Penny, and headed back to their room. When they reached it Viola stopped and gave Kurama a light peck on the cheek.
Who knows,
She said,
Maybe this will work out like you want it to.
She then slipped inside their room to change into her pajamas in private, like usual, leaving Kurama standing outside the door with cheeks that were growing redder than his Crimson hair.

I forgot Penny's speech color so I improvised.

Silver, could you give a pointer as to which paladin besides Mordocai himself goes outside recruiting those who hear the call? I might write a draft of Ysan's backstory, but since he will join the academy after Viola Mordocai will not be wandering around.

Waoh, I had lost track of this.

I just readed the end of chapter 1 and the start of chapter 2.
The end of chapter one i feel ambivealent about.
There are somme chapters that feelsa little phoned in at somme point, particulary when the heroes seems to pull new powers just as the plot demands.The vilalins feels somewhat a little too verbose as well, with a tendency to explain everyhting, (I understand th necessity story wise, but maybe there might be somme more ubtle form of exposition ?), that kind of make them less menacing overall.

Still there's nothing really bad and it it stay an overall enjoyable read all along. And chapter 47 blew my mind. even if the outcomme was predictable (killing the main character so soon would have been surprising), it's still tense enough that I as unsure and hanging till the end. It's also complelty silent wich definitively the reinforce the ambiance of otherworliness as is fitting for a scene involving death I suppose.
I find a little hard to believe that grim is dead, I still wonder if he'll comme back int he storry but if he doesn't, that was a pretty nice to to end he got there.

And I like what i see in the start of chapter 2. Villains look like they have somme personality and chapter 2 was pretty fun.
(I agree with Bisected8, they'd make a very good sitcom, two sociopaths who can't stand each other forced to cooperate, the basic of english comedy.)

At this point, I have only confirmed it was Mordokai. But I think Nil is also one to go out, just not as often as Mordokai.

It has to be non-canon as the demon can't be out in that world, remember? It will take them a long time before the demons can access the mortal realm. Sorry.

Do whatever you want. But for the most part, not many people have had any contact with Demon's. Just letting you know, but breaking through and linking both worlds with portals is actually very hard to do. And by now, it has only gotten harder.

Really, I just need to figure out what to do for the next 2 parts and then I'll be able to change the faulty oil for a speed boost. (Darn Chevron) The reason why is I need to put in some filler I guess, for a couple of parts, just to make it appear time has passed. Because time needs to pass until the chapter really gets going. I just want to make the filler just as good as every other part.

You could use it to introduce my character, I mean, come on, a barbarian will definitely stand out, but he's never been mentioned before. It could be that he's just been found by Mordokai.
