    Default Using Spell Like Abilities

If you shapechange into a creature that can cast Wish (Xorn, Efreeti, etc) as an SLA, and you use the SLA to replicate a low level spell (one of the accepted uses of Wish) and that spell has an XP cost, do you not have to pay that either? Seems the answer is no, but there's a middle step there (using the SLA is free, but the SLA is now being used to do something that costs??)

Case in point is using SLA Wish to replicate Permanency.

Well, first, you're going to need a way to use the SLAs of adopted forms.

But if you find a way, then no, it doesn't cost XP:

    d20srd.org:

"A spell-like ability has no verbal, somatic, or material component, nor does it require a focus or have an XP cost."

I don't think he means SLA, but supernatural abilities or extraordinary abilities. For instance, if you Shapechange into a Zodar, you can use the supernatural ability Wish. If you use Wish to mimic a lower level spell, such as permanency, do you have to pay the cost of the permanency use.

So, if you use Wish as a supernatural ability to mimic the spell Permanency, then you cast permanency on a casting of see the invisible, does the casting of Permanency on See the Invisible cost the 1000xp that permanency says it costs?

DOH!!! Missed that, SLAs are not (Su) they are just SLAs. Damned good point there Pluto. Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow!
