can you throw an immovable rod

As the title says say if your a hulking hurler. and have the strength. Could you use an immovable rod as a throwing weapon?

Possibly, although I fail to see the point since an immovable rod wouldn't be any heavier than a normal metal bar.

If it's unlocked, sure, but it won't be of any special value. If it's anchored, no; you can make the Strength check to move it easily, but as soon as you stop applying that force it'll become immovable again. So.. I suppose you could throw it at somebody if they're within 10 feet, which is the maximum you can make the Rod move in a round. Although even in that circumstance it wouldn't be worth doing, as the Rod still only weighs as much as a small metal bar.
