Ok, need help picking a special quality from the template. Right now i'm going with children of the night since Im a malconvoker.

If evil, do blood drain.
If not evil, but have a convenient source of summoned animals, you can still get away with blood drain. Just summon a dog and drain him, rather than draining random innocents.

It only works on humanoids and monstrous humanoids. So no.
