Drow Druid vs. Vermin Keeper

I'll try this again :)

What do you think is a better way to becoming a spider shape changing druid with a spider companion, take the Drow Druid alternate class feature and the 2 feats for the spider companion; or take levels in Vermin Keeper?

The Vermin Keeper seems more powerful/versatile but his progression in spider shapes and when he gets a vermin companion are slower, plus I have to take Iron Will

Any advice as to which way you would go?

Iron Will can be got from the Otyugh Hole for a nominal fee.

I'm unfamiliar with those classes, but another option is the Entomanothrope. It's like a were-vermin. Grabbing a Large Spider form is ECL 6, 4 of which is RHD.
