This might sound stupid, but...
where the heck in the corebooks is the chart about how much exp you need for levels?! I can't find it with search or anything...

There's an Index on tables at the beginning of the book. At the end of the book you'll find glossary and keyword index. And then there's Table of Contents at the beginning of the book. Between these, it should be a breeze to find whatever you're looking for.

...but it doesn't have the specific piece of information you're looking for, because then people would be able to play D&D without buying the books. Otherwise very useful.
