Default (3.5D&D) Level 4 Cleric of Pelor

    http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetvie...sheetid=173169 My character sheet.

I've been timeskipped such that I have some as yet unknown increase in my character's wealth due to managing a series of gem mines after a modified version of the Brightstone keep free adventure from WOTC.

unfortunately I haven't played in awhile so I'm sorta stumped as to what to use my gold for. I had 2K on my person and then my share after the end of the last adventure was another 2K and then some change. I should be having 3 or companions join me at about 4th WBL and ECL, though probably with a bit of a bonus due to the one I'm getting. Not sure on their classes other than that one of 'em wants to be a ToB/melee and one stated he wanted to be an artificer.

I'm-a see about whether I can coordinate to have contributed resources to the artificer and had crafting shtuffs done before the start of play, and... making sure that there is a dedicated wright around... But as of right now, don't know if that'll fly or not.

So, uh, some ideas, por favor, kickstart this stupid brain of mine.

Pearls of Power1s are a pretty solid choice. Keep a single Lesser Vigor memed, and you can heal your whole party over time.

Anklets of Translocation are something no low level character should be without...to many big scary things at low level that you need to run away from.

Are you going the Persistent Spell divine metamagic route? If you are, you should go ahead and grab Extend, Persistent, and then Divine Metamagic and wait to grab Extra turning at lvl 6. You'd have enough turn attempts to persist a spell already. If you aren't going that route, then drop Persistent Metamagic, since you can't use it till a much higher level without Divine Metamagic.

Did you add in your +1 bonus to a stat yet?

Are you sure you want the Strength Domain? Pelor gives access to the Charity, Destiny, Glory, Good, Healing, Pride, Portal, Radiance, Strength, and Sun Domains.

The Sun Domain is pretty good. If you're interested in killing lots of undead, I'm not sure if Glory might be better, since you have so many turn undead uses.

Destiny is a fun domain with a great reroll domain power. Pride has a great reroll domain power too. Destiny's allows you to reroll another player's roll for, "single attack, save, ability check, or skill check made by a willing creature".

As for items, a few Pearls of Power lvl 1 are always a huge help.

Check out all the wondrous items in the Magical Item Compendium for ideas.

Well, at the time I made him I only had access to the PHB for domains. ...I think we totally forgot the SRD and Spell Compendium have more in them.

He's letting me partially recreate the character since the proper physical character sheet has been lost and so the one online isn't entirely accurate and he's feeling generous.

sun domain came in handy once or twice against undead, but yeah... Strength I took because it was that or healing at the time x.x

Didn't think there was enough to try the DMM without extra turning form the get go, huh. I'll consider that.

I had no idea what to do with my feats other than try for DMM actually, any other suggestions are more than welcome.

And yeah, the extra level up point is in wisdom, otherwise I'd have a 16 wisdom and charisma.

I was party face for a bit there, until we picked up the bard, but now I don't know what the new party composition is going to be. x.x Might have a bard/arcanist/skillmonkey that'll consider it, else, I'll be putting points back into diplomacy.

I was considering it, yes. Can't enter until 6th level though, right?

Actually, I'm such a loser, I forgot where Radiant Servant of Pelor was. Comp Divine, right?

Dip Crusader 1, and see if your GM will let you refluff the Ruby Knight Vindicator as the Burning Hate Vindicator.

Also buy lots, and lots of Nightsticks. You'll need them.

Edit: Yes, yes it is. Page 52.

I'll see if I can get ToB. He's considering whether he'll allow it, since it means he'll have to bother to read the book fully to learn the system. I'm considering either that or radiant servant depending upon whether he allows it for the girl who wants to roll up a melee character.

Despite not being a prereq, Healing is actually a domain that a Radiant Servant is mechanically "supposed" to take, since some of the PrC's class features empower and/or maximize Healing domain spells. (Specifically domain spells from the Healing domain, so if you don't have the Healing domain, these class features do bupkis.)

I had no idea what to do with my feats other than try for DMM actually, any other suggestions are more than welcome.
Well, Extra Turning you need for Radiant Servant of Pelor anyway.

Not that you're necessarily going to take that prestige class. I would, though. I like how a RSoP with the Healing, Sun and Glory domains is highly specialized in what Good clerics already do by default. Very archetypal, all the more so for being exclusive to Neutral Good clerics of a Neutral Good god whose clerics must all be Good.

(The granted proficiency with all martial weapons seems like some sort of error, though. It doesn't really fit with the rest of the class, which has nothing to do with the Cleric's beatstick potential. Indeed, its one drawback next to straight Cleric is a slightly lower hit die, which makes a character less of a frontliner.)

And I say this from a GM POV.

What are the sources on all of these? 4 are PHB, and I believe Glory is Complete Divine...

Spell Compendium probably the best bet to get all of 'em?

CDivine has a bunch of domains, but I believe all of those and a handful from the FRCS were all reprinted in the SpC, which makes the SpC your one-stop shop for nearly all of your domain desires (and Desire domains).

If I can retroactively take flaws, what would be good ones to take? (as in, yes the DM is allowing it, but he's going to actually look at what the flaws are)

I'm thinking about grabbing skill focus knowledge religion for a divine oracle dip and getting everything I need to DMM Persist at this level.

You can get Skill Focus: Knowledge Religion by visiting the Frog God's Fane, a magical location in Complete Scoundrel or Complete Mage, I forget which. It has a WBL value of 2000g, so it costs you about as much as a +1 weapon. Magical locations like this and the Otyuthe Hole were designed and introduced into the game as a way to retroactively fix some of the lame prereqs that early PrCs tended to have. I mean, look at the Master Specialist PrC. It gives Skill Focus: Spellcraft. Why? Because Archmage requires it, thats why. Thats the ONLY reason.

So yea, dumb prereqs are dumb. Buy your way out of them if you can.

If you are gonna take a flaw, good ones to day are ones that reduce your Will save (which will be crazy high with Wis focus and multiclassing in strong will classes), and ones that reduce your ranged attack (and possibly melee attack, if you don't want to be one of THOSE clerics). Clerics get very few rays, and the ones they do get generally suck (Searing Light...are you kidding me?), so you probably won't be making very many ranged attack rolls. Dim Anchor and selectively Sunbeam are about the only good cleric rays, and Dim Anchor also on the Wizard list, if required.

    Divine Spell Powah!!!!!

Do note, you can only use one [Divine] feat on a spell at a time. Thus, you couldn't DSP a spell you DMMed.

Hmm? What's that from? Nvm, overlooked it in Complete Divine.

I dunno, doesn't seem very tasty except for save or sucks and I dont' really have many as a cleric with only up to 2nd level spells.

I am now a Sun and Glory domain cleric. haha.

    with a tinker gnome(homebrew) artificer
    a human psion
    and a human swordsage.

    All female, oddly enough. Haha.
