Energy Absorption [3.5]
I could have sworn I saw a monster that could absorb fire. Is there such a creature, or am I just going crazy? I would hope there is, considering almost every book has a monster in it.

There are creatures that have energy absorption effects. I think there's a handful that have fire absorption (I want to say it was a fiend, but don't quote me).
