hmm, maybe he's talking about naal's mother. if the stuff she's done in the past (like killing the slaves in the prologue) has indeed been shapeshifting and not shadow sorcery or something else, naal could be a shapeshifter as well.
not very likely, given that the comic already has a confirmed shapeshifter family, but possible.

And from Naal to the next drama. Will there be any funny happy moment in chapter 32? Likely not!

Shinae is going to crack it seems. Well she was always bottling her anger up and now she explodes, or something? I think what she really means is "Am I a real person to you?" I understand that she is sick of being the only one to follow the rule,s all the time and still getting in an awkward position she never would have chosen, would she be in Chrystel's shoes and now she thinks that her time is up.

Maybe she should realize that the neglect of the others is not largely due to her lower social rank but to her being not a good friend in general and her habit to constantly criticize almost everyone she is 'allowed' to. She didn't strike me as particularly smart so far, just filled with a lot of empty pride so I wonder how this will end?

I can see one place that might have a happy moment, mini Diva meeting her daughter. Then we are probably going to get a real downer to end it with.

Chrys is better off without her for sure. Chrys is better off without the rest of her clan, except "Tiny". She should go and pledge loyalty to Kiel. That would be like Kiel suddenly got a brain. I mean, not way would Chrys have eaten that cake. Kiel is pretty scary already, but with a brain, she would be unstopable!

Well I think we do see some character progression for Shinae at last. Well it is not a positive development to get more vengeful, but this is the first time she truly thinks ill of her sister. The ranting Shinae reminds me here a bit on Syphile. However I think Shinae is more competent than her Sarghress counterpart, plus her pressure sorcery seems very potent for her age. In working against her sister, Shinae might get more independent from Chrystel and Zalaess alike.

Chrystel's decision to dismiss Shinae in the cold way she did might have been not the best way to make Shinae leave her side. I know that Shinae is getting on everyone's nerves but to alienate her twin sister might not be good in the long run. In some way Chrystel is beginning to make Vy'chiril's mistake, of neglecting and underestimating her twin sister (Actually on the emotional and motivational level these stories are very alike). To be fair Chrystel did actually try to convince Shinae of the rightness of her cause, by telling Shinae her point of view but Chrystel could not convince her and she does not seem to notice Shinae's point of view, either. Chrystel assumes that Shinae is just doing what she is being told, she makes here the mistake to assume that Shinae is either passive to this or to think that she will follow her in the end. In any case I believe that a Chrystel-Shinae confrontation is now inevitable, the sooner the better before Shinae become so frustrated to pull of something like that.

I do not say that Shinae is right or that her point of view is preferable. For me she is somewhat a moron. However because Chrystel is obviously the smart one, she should avoid repeating Ariel's mistake, namely not paying enough attention of the motivations of her close companions.

I only now realise that Shinae used her pressure magic to yell at whats-his-hair. Fair to assume that half of Chel heard.

Shinae has already tried to replace Chrys once, back in Stabby Alley. Zala made it clear that it was NOT going to happen. She was "lightly tortured". Shinae's only hope is that Chrys "comes to her senses" and returns to the clan to become a good obedient daugther. Yeah, Shinae has good reason to be frustrated.

I was hoping for a bit more havoc of biblical proportions in this chapter, but I guess that could still happen?

In a sense I do feel for Shinae. She mian be a pain but under it all I do think there is a decent person. It never gets to come out often because of the (&%^%!world she lives in.

Thought we where going to visit mini Deiva and he decendants, but heading to Quain and Ariel country. Hope the DT forum is wrong about how this plays out.

The current theory is that demonLu is still Lu for the most part. If it was a total takeover, demonLu hates Snads guts. So nothing doing there.

The general thought is that a certain Dark Elf that happens to look like a huge purple spider is killed by Quain as punishment for Mel. I really don't see than happening at the moment though. Quain seems to have backed off being quite such a rotton *%$# of a parent due to what Syphile said and things seem calm at the moment. Unless things go side ways, which can really happen in this story.

I'm on HoS's side here. I believe that Lu is the dominant personality in Luless.
It all depends of course if Lu's lover is still alive. As long as he's not confirmed being dead I believe in Lu.

With Mel being so humble she and Quain might reach an understanding. Too bad that it is all an act designed by our favorite villain Snadhya.

If Quain plays it right (and there is actually a chance she might) she may come to a REAL peace with Mel which could blow Snad's plan. Interesting that you call Snad a villian (It's a polite term for what she is). Many of the characters we see are both good and bad, but there are a few that just seem to be all bad, the Gorgon Sisters for instance.

Well, THAT line certainly proves your point Max. And I totaly agree with your W.T.H.. But on the bright side Lu's reaction certainly indicates it's still Lu though. The only way I can see that Quain can end up not being a total **&$ is if this is a test for Lu. Not a lot of confidence in that at this point though.

You were right. Snadyha's personal delivery of Mel had it's effect it seems. Quaintana is now very pissed indeed. A shame that Mel's arms are now in danger of being broken but I guess it was worth it.

If Mel would have returned alone or just in company of Lu, Quaintana might be less pissed, right?

(Note: Aw the Gorgons don't deserve that. They were fierce but not treacherous. Especially according to the late Ovid, one of the Gorgons, Medusa was really a victim. First the then beautiful Medusa was raped by Poseidon in Athena's temple and then the pettish Athena decides not to punish Poseidon (guess Athena's uncle was too powerful) but rather Medusa by transforming her in to an ugly monster and later she even helped Perseus to finish her off.)

True, all of the Illharesses we've seen so far (minus perhaps Shimilande) are by they very nature of her positions a bit villainous. For me Shadhya is the main villain because she is way more treacherous and evil than all her counterparts combined.

Well to me nether because Quaintana doesn't strike me as subtle or sophisticated enough to think of these kind of tricks. But maybe she will surprise us.

Oh man, that is harsh. I don't have much sympathy for Quain, she is Atilla the Hun with boobs. She had her only grandchild beat a guy to death with a club, just to see if the kid had it in her...

Sadly, it does not look like Lu will jump up and kill Quain now. <-reverse psycology there, maybe it will happen now, just to prove me wrong...?

If she dies right here Ariel (as the young heir) will likely die also, and we shouldn't want that. I think Quain is here to last a while longer.

Nice realistic Warhammer though. Not one of these ridiculous oversized fantasy weapons, this is based on a real one.

I don't have enough sympathy for Mel to agree. Quite obviously this situation corresponds to what Snad engineered -- Quaint wouldn't have been so furious, and wouldn't have let anger cloud her judgment, if Mel had come home without being escorted by a sworn enemy of the clan. It was a provocation meant to make Mel suffer the backlash so as to give her a motivation to join the demonic nihilist club.

It should be obvious; but Quaint is too angry to make the connection and Mel is too in love to get it either, so it will probably work.

Hehehe, well it turned out quite differently. Kel should have introduced the matter slowly and more careful. Kel was like: "Look Arel, see your beat up sister sister here. She is in fact your mother, comprende?" He told the big thing right away, which was a mistake.

I really like Ariel here, she is staying in character because Ariel is often making comments like "Yeah, whatever" or "Do what you want, I don't care", so she can be quite neglecting to facts or other people. Maybe she is sick of being manipulated and so she rejects anything which does not fit to her plan to make her 'mother' Quaintana proud. Remember Ariel does not know all the fact like we do.

I mean I feel a bit bad for Mel here, but if Ariel would have chosen Mel, they would have likely escaped to Snadhya which would be a bad thing, wouldn’t it?

I am hoping that Ariel will stop and consider "Option C: Someone who acted like a mother to me" instead of the two options she has been given. We may have seen a hint of it in the weapon she looks to have after the timeskip.
