Must-have wiz duelist spells (3.5)
I am sort of a noob to this whole wizard-duelist thing and need to quickly scrap together a lvl 20 wizard (as a DM) with some serius chance of sucess. I am not really an optimizer, but since I am facing some such players (lvl 18), I would ask for a list of say, 10 best spells to win such a duel.
Celerity, Contingency, Haste, Protections from energy, Veil of undeath, Polymorph, Nondetection, Mind Blank and Greater dispel magic come to mind but for most else I am a bit lost.
Suggestions much appreciated.

Re: Must-have wiz duelist spells (3.5)
Summon Doc Roc.
In a pinch, if you're not high-enough level to do that, use Summon Eldarial instead. That's another useful one.
In case you don't know, Doc Roc and Eldarial are both well-known optimizers in these parts, and can do a better job of this than I could.
All that I say applies only to myself. You author your own actions and choices. I cannot and will not be responsible for you, nor are you for me, regardless of situation or circumstance.

Simulacrum is a nice one. If you beef up the Orb of X spells, they deal a huge amount of damage and can blows things up real good.

Re: Must-have wiz duelist spells (3.5)
Forcecage is amazing if they can't dim door out immediately. Ray of Stupidity is a great spell to metamagic the crap out of, and with sufficient work can shut down 1-2 characters all on its own. Shivering touch as well, making just about anyone cry (assuming you can make them a ranged touch instead, like with an archmage).
Also, do you have to be a straight wiz20, or can you PrC around a bit?

@Vulaas
I sure can PrC around, but ... my low experiance with such combinations may be more of a trouble then benefit.
@Azernak0
How does simulacrum beef up anything? (if you mean Wiz of Thai + his members of circle of magic, that's not really doable w. simulacrum since such a creature has appropriate hit points, feats, skill ranks, and special abilities for a creature of that level or HD - but not spellcasting abilities)

initiate of the seven fold vale/Archmage for class, should give you some really good immunities and abilities. Than use the spells you have listed and some of the others that have been listed here and you should be just fine.
Check out my horrible homebrews
