Jecht [3.0-3.5]
Long story short, I want to make a version of Jecht from FFX using the 3.0 to 3.5 rules and classes. Think a guy with little to no armor on, kicks you in the face, wields this hulking blade which should technically be a two handed sword yet wields it with one hand, then summons giant rocks out of nowhere and throws them at you, chaining you with all these different attacks in one fell swoop. In short, he's the definition of the manliest man alive, with a badassness just under The Most Interesting Man In The World.
I think he would have to have hulking hurler for the meteors, the rest sounds pretty much like a barbarian to me, though I'm not too sure how to handle the huge sword issue. Any ideas?
P.S. I'm not interested in him turning into Sin, that would be too many levels and too painful to make. I'm more interested in this, minus his transformation into a monster and more him kicking ass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z85MDewrq_U.I've started streaming again.

Re: Jecht [3.0-3.5]
i would say that you should take a level in either bard or rogue for UMD so you can use scrolls and wands to either summon rocks or break them off the cavern ceiling on top of your enemies
then get a pair of strongarm bracers and exotic weapon proficiency in the bastard sword. thats the best i can think of to get a blade that takes alot of effort to wield one-handed and make it larger. you can always take a potion of enlarge person or something to make the weapon bigger, but it wont look like a huge sword on a medium person, but it will be a huge sword on a large person.
maybe be a goliath and take the racial substitution levels for barbarian so you get larger when you rageSpoiler
In the past, I played Sir Theo Roost.
I am soon to begin playing his heir, Dora the Destroya

Re: Jecht [3.0-3.5]
A major creation effect could summon boulders, but needs 5th level arcane spells to work without a magic item. if you go for UMD I'd go with warlock; the leaps and bounds and hideous blow work well with the concept.
For his transformation, duplicating the giant size and greater visage of the deity would work well. Huge to collosal size plus half-fiend looks about right
Powerful build+ monkey grip would let you weild a huge greatsword at medium size

Re: Jecht [3.0-3.5]
Well, for the throwing part, you can take the Hulking Hurler PrC, but you have to be a Large humanoid to qualify. Half-Ogre does that, for just +1LA. You'll need 5 BAB, so spend those first five levels on barbarian- rage provides a very nice strength boost. Lion totem barbarian is considered the best variant, because it gives you Pounce instead of Fast Movement.
Then, for the sword, you can wield a fullblade or a greatsword, but Hulking Hurler can do ridiculous damage with those boulders, and that'll end up as your primary source of damage. Better yet, make yourself a nice Returning Orcish Shotput to throw around, and you'll have a nice, heavy Blitzball to throw around when you need it. Re-fluff half-ogre as being incredibly manly, and you have a winner.Last edited by dgnslyr; 2010-07-28 at 11:50 PM.

I would have to say that the whole "limp wrist hanging from my sleeve" thing pretty much destroys any credibility he had as a manly-man.
edit: Whoops, my bad, that was Auron (or however it's spelled).Last edited by Crow; 2010-07-28 at 11:52 PM.

Re: Jecht [3.0-3.5]
I'd go with warblade/bloodstorm blade, though I'm not sure how to do the two-handed sword to one-handed thing.

Re: Jecht [3.0-3.5]
In my Final Fantasy X D20, Jecht would be a Hume Blitzer. Max ranks in Jump & Swim are a must. If he were playing Blitzball, then he would automatically know the Jecht Shot, & later be able to upgrade to the JS2. As for the oversized sword, I'd probably homebrew a custom weapon property for such a thing, or just handwave a greatsword to have the appearance of an airplane wing.

Re: Jecht [3.0-3.5]
Oversized swords are much more commonplace in Final Fantasy than they are in D&D. That would probably be the equivalent of a bastard sword or a longsword in D&D, it just looks bigger because it's FF.
