While there are three female candidates for pilotting Aquarion Alpha - Lihua (the depressed girl), Tsugumi (the meganekko) and Rena (vampire gothloli on a wheelchair); assuming the standard Aquarion team of Apollo, Sirius or Pierre and Silvia, there is no way to create an all-female team for that unit. Nor for the standard Aquarion, probably because Apollo is permanently welded to Aquarion Sol's chair. Too bad.

In other news, I received enough votes for doing both routes so we'll go with that.

I'm fine with lolis in general (even though I'm not exactly the target audience), but the way Mail continuously pushes herself onto Rand is just outright creepy. No, I won't listen to any arguments to the contrary, if they play the romance between Rand and Mail straight I'm going to despair hard.

That said, Ganleon itself might be the most dramatic mech I've ever seen in SRW. I mean, damn, that beast is full of fury and tension. The contrast between the serious lion Ganleon and its somewhat goofy pilot is fun.

I believe that i used exactly that team for Aquarion Alpha though. Actually not realizing it was a choice. I played around heavily with who to use in the standard Aquarion since i didn't like the default team. I can't remember which team i ended up with though.

You can't play the Rand/Mail romance straight. He is visibly repulsed by the very notion of Mail being his girlfriend/fiancee/darling/whatever, so respect to the guy for not being a lolicon, unlike his fellow mecha pilot Char Quattro. Also, he's into large boobs rather than pettanko, like you can see during a cutscene where the rest of the crew catches him watching porn on the internet.

I am not kidding. That's a canon scene.

Thanks, that does give me considerable peace of mind.

I guess the developers thought that dualwielding chainsaws wasn't enough proof of his manliness.

If I'm not misremembering, Mail is about 16 years old. That is to say, her mind is sixteen while her body is somewhat younger.

Rand is about the same age as Zengar, thirty-low.

Rand is too badass to retire. He's also 27 according to Gate of Magus.

Mail is definitely older than she looks. Must be the late bloomer type, definitely no plot importance of this fact at all.

I don't think the theme music has been posted yet.

    Rand: Land Crasher

Don't worry, the theme songs get enough prominence in videos I made for the first scenario in each route. Appreciate the link though.

Also, Rand is the unbeatable expert in this area, but it doesn't mean he is the only one in SRW Z to make silly faces. I present:

CHESTO! (grazes Prime32 glasses with a zantakou)

Sanger Zonvolt, the Sword that Smites Evil is 30 years old! And protagonist of Alpha 2!

He also got a loli following him there tough. Even younger-looking than the one here.

I wonder what will happen on the day when Daitetsu gets his own game.

No, it's a different theme, just performed by the same people. Most of their SRW songs sound similar. Similarily awesome, I mean.

You've got it wrong, man! Having the same vocalist as Baran Doban's song just makes him even more awesome.

Besides, they both use construction site weaponry (giant wrench and giant wrecking ball) and they are both manly men. It's a theme

Let's start the whole thing right now. Like I decided, running both routes and after we clear scenario 9, everyone will vote on which protagonist to follow from that point on. There will be additional route splits in the future, but I don't think I'll run both of them on such an occassion, only the one readers choose.

The first update has a lot of videos. There's 15 per chapter, and they basically cover the whole scenario. This is not the norm, I just felt the first chapter should fully show off how the game looks and feels like. In the future, I will usually skip through most of dialogue (it's all in Japanese anyway) and uninteresting stuff like units just moving around or fighting with enemies we're already familiar with. Exceptions will be given for interesting or amusing situations, of course.

Make sure to give me feedback on video quality and how fast does it download for you. I already know that the game lags before each attack animation - it was a problem that I fixed already (the DVD needed dusting...) and will not be present in future updates.

Okay, enough introduction. Super Robot Wars Z Let's Play is go!

    ==============

    Chapter 1: Repairman at Large

Welcome to post-apocalyptia! The world was almost destroyed thousands of years ago in a devastating war, during the time period known only as Black History. But humanity survived - ruled over by the Innocent, who established a three day rule. Basically, any crime no matter how horrific was pardoned after three days. Recently however, the Innocents and their laws were torn down, all of it thanks to a single man: Jiron Amos. He felt a bit dissatisfied with the system, having your parents killed will do that for you. The world didn't immediately become a super-happy place: bands of Breakers (pilots of gas-powered Walker Machines that are often employed as goons by bandits or are bandits themselves) and Vultures (same thing, only with slightly better robots and even more blatant Mad Max ripoffs) are roaming around, and there are rumors of people from the moon invading and even some strange storms occuring, teleporting people and whole chunks of land at random. But who'd pay attention to made up rumors when day-to-day reality is crazy enough as it is.

Backwater town somewhere in Gallia, where our hero came to trade...

Mail: Ohh, a camera! Is it really pre-Black History stuff?
Breaker: I swear, honest! Ancient thing, this is. But still works like a dream. Can be yours for only... hey, something covered my sun.
    Mail: Oh, hi darling!

Rand: Hey! Found something that caught ya eye, Mail?
Breaker: W... wait! I know you - you're the Crasher! You're this little girl's husband?!
Rand: Woah there! Three things for you pal: I'm not Mail's "darling" and she's not my wife. That's one. Don't call me the Crasher, my name's the Heat. That's two. Oh, and the camera is a fake. Here, it says "Cybelia". Should be "Siberia".
Breaker: ... I'm sorry, mr Crasher!
    Rand: Grrr...
Breaker: Aaaah! Please don't kill me! I'm but a redshirt but I wanna live tooooooooo...
Mail: Wow, he sure can run fast! Umm... but you know, I think in Japanese, Siberia and Cybelia are written the same.
Rand: Oops... hehe... at least we got a free camera out of the whole business.
Mail: I guess we should pay that guy when we meet him again... too bad all Breakers have like three faces between themselves. Makes it hard to recognize 'em.

Garrod: Come one, come all! You have the chance of your lifetime - an awesome thing's for sale right here. I present you... a Gundam!
Breaker: Woah! If I use this, I'll become a main character! 10 million!
Some other Breaker: I bet it's got a plot shield, 20 million!
How many Breakers are there: 35!

    Gelaba: I pay... 100 gazillion!
Garrod: Uhh... pretty sure that's a made up number.
    Gelaba: Totally ain't!
Garrod: Really? Wow, I'll be rich!
Gelaba: Hmm, wait a sec... I don't really have the money, but if I take this thing by force, Bro will finally respect me. I'm outta here, gotta call the boys!
Garrod: Huh? Where'd he go? Should've paid attention to his monologue...
Rand: Wow, cool machine you have there. Can't believe you're sellin' it, no matter how high.
Garrod: I need the money. I must... find Tiffa again!
    Mail: Huh? Tiffa?
Garrod: Yeah. We were seperated... some weird storm caught me and now I'm all away from her. But I'll find her. I swear I will!
Mail: Wow, what dedication! It's like me and Darling!
Rand: Hey, don't call me dar...

    *Explosion*

    Rand: Huh?
Mail: Aah, some Walker Machines are heading this way! They don't look friendly!

    Mission start!
Gelaba: I'm sure our outdated, crap units can take on a Gundam!
Rand ???: Hold it right there, folks! I ain't lettin' you bust this town up!
Breaker: I recognize that voice. It's the Crasher!
Rand: Damn you guys, name's the Heat!
Gelaba: Silence, Crasher! Get outta the way or we bust you up too!
Breakers: Crasher, Crasher! Let's make him furious for no reason!
Rand: Gaaaah! Now I'm angry, you guys are going DOWN!

As for me - like you can see, twiddling around with options. I really don't like the map grid. I'll turn it back on if you want to though.

An important cornerstone of the SRW series are Spirit Skills (Seishin for all your weeaboos out there, like me). Your pilots burn a bit of Spirit Points and focus to perform an act of extraordinary willpower. You know, typical giant robot stuff. So far, Rand knows only one seishin: Strike, which gives his attacks 100% accuracy until the start of next turn. Mail knows Scan, which lets you check enemy units' status before you engage them in combat.

    Let's try it out!

The Breaker's Walker Machine is no match for Rand's mighty Gunleon. Let's not waste time, because there's a 4 turn limit if we want to earn a Skill Point (the more you earn, the more hardcore as a player you are!). Rand, go!

Rand: Leave it to me! Wrench, go!
Breaker: Argh! Obey laws of physics for once, will ya!

So far I have only one unit, so it's end of turn for now. Because of Gunleon's placement, some Walker Machines can walk (haha) up to it and attack - but that's a good thing. They open themselves up for painful counterattacks.
Gunleon itself takes a few hits, but it's a big boy. It can take it.
    Mail: "Papa's Gunleon is invincible!"
Yeah, the unit was created by Rand's old mentor/Mail's old man, in case you were interested. Also, if the damage taken wasn't negligible enough, Rand can perform emergency repairs in the middle of combat. He's just that good.

    Next turn happens, and...
Garrod: Gelaba, you suck! Not givin' up the Gundam even if you pay me now. Scram or I'll shoot you down!
Rand: Hey, glad to have some support!
Garrod: Your wife promised me a meal. I can't refuse that.
Rand: Woah, woah, she's not my... you know what? Forget it. Let's take on these guys first.

Gundam X Divider is a Real Robot - it focuses on dodging and not tanking, unlike Gunleon. It can also fly, and has a nice collection of weapons. It'll remain a strong unit throughout the game. To be on the safe side, I'm using Invincible: the first attack to hit Garrod will deal only 10 damage.

Garrod: I won't let you guys have your way!
(Awesome warning: Video contains double-wielding chainsaws.)

Rand: I'm going for their boss, you take care of mooks on the left!
Breakers: Mooks? Aww man, we are redshirts after all...

In case you didn't notice yet, Breakers (and Xabungle as a whole series) have a love-hate relationship with the 4th wall.

The key to winning this scenario, and many others, is counterattacking when the enemy is foolish enough to get close. So let's do just that! Sure, technically Rand and Garrod could try to defend or dodge instead (only 50% damage taken and a chance to hit reduced by half, respectively), but do we really have to do that in the first scenario?

Rand: The boss's in range. Time for a finishing hit!
Mail: Okay! The Riot G-Wrench is ready!
Gelaba: Is this the part where I run away?

Garrod: I won't be left behind! Divider Beam Cannon - take this!

People familiar with Gundam X may notice that Garrod already has the Divider, rather than the Satellite Cannon Gundam X he had at the start of the series. That's because a part of X's plot took place in the backstory, we're already somewhere down the series. But let's not spoil too much, okay?

End of turn, and the enemies attack with predictable results. Skill Point earned - not just for bragging rights, Rand and Garrod earn some Pilot Points too!

    But then!
Gelaba: I still got fight in me! I won't get the Gundam but I'll at least see this town burn!
Garrod: Woah, fast! I can't catch up with him!
    Someone: Too slow!

Gain: Got its limbs. That Walker Machine won't be moving for a while.
Rand: YAAAAH! Take that, comic relief villain!
Gelaba: I'm not really dead. See you next episode! *boom*

The fight is over, but who is the mysterious stranger?
Mail: Wow, that was so cool! You really saved that town. But, who are you?
Gain: Just a coincidence that I was passing through. My name's Gain Bijou, the Black Southern Cross.
Rand: Hey, awesome sniping there. I kinda remember your name... the Exodus specialist, right?
Gain: Yeah. And you must be the Heat, right?
Rand: Finally, someone gets my name right...
Gain: I'm going to a nearby Domepolis. It has some kind of festival running. You might want to check it out. Should be fun. As for me... I'll be there for business.
Mail: Woo! Let's go, let's go!
Rand: Yeah, sure! What about you, Garrod? Want to travel with us? Maybe we'll stumble upon your Tiffa that way.
Garrod: Alright! And I thought, no use selling the Gundam if I can use it to move quickly around.
Mail: Well, the Gundam won't feed you.
    Garrod: Oh...

    Intermission!
Here, I can upgrade my units (in exchange for cash, which I have little of), buy parts at the market (in exchange for Blue Stones, which I have even less of), and train my pilots (in exchange for Pilot Points, which I... yeah, figure it out by now). But at least we can see our top ace for the moment - it's Garrod, since he scored most kills. Other than Gunleon and Gundam X, Gain's Gotchko joined the party. It looks like a tiny and pathetic unit, but don't underestimate it. It's imbued with badass, as you will soon find out...

Next chapter: Everybody dance the monkey! And join the Exodus!

    ==============

Same time; very, VERY different place:

    Chapter 1: The Right Stuff

The world is not an easy place to live in. Only a few years ago, a devastating war killed many, both of the Earth Federation and secessionist space colonies of Zeon and their allies, the ZAFT. The Federation eventually won the bloody conflict, in significant part thanks to young war heroes: Amuro Ray and Kira Yamato, who found themselves forced to pilot experimental Gundam robots and became ace pilots. The former was discovered to be a Newtype, an evolution of humankind with extended danger sense, limited precognition and similar mysterious powers, while the latter is a SEED, a person able to enter SEED mode, which grants perfect 3-d awareness and enhanced physical ability. All is not fine though, because the winning side quickly turned from somewhat benevolent to outright iron-fisted and tyrannical, discriminating against space-dwelling Newtypes and genetically engineered Coordinators, and using ruthless organisations like the Titans or Phantom Pain to brutally quell any resistance. And to make things even worse, various alien races are attacking Earth. Although vastly different on an empire-per-empire basis, the unknown aliens seem to be coordinated lately. Did they enter an evil alliance to destroy humanity?

Moon colony Green Noa - a Titan military base. Our heroine is not having the time of her life.

Jerid: Setsuko? That sounds like a girl's name.

Setsuko: Well, that's because I am a girl...
Jerid: Whatever! We heard you Glory Star jerks had a simulation battle again. And who did worst of the trio? You.

Kacricon: What a disgrace. As punishment, you must remove your clothing. This is an order from a superior officer.
Jerid: That's right, strip. Maybe you're good for that at least!
    Setsuko: Urgh... getting creepy...

Emma: What is going on here? Don't you two bullies have anything better to do?
Kacricon: Just motivating a junior officer to do her job better.

Toby: Yeah, right. Shouldn't you be goose-stepping around the base for a while?
    Jerid: What did you say?!
Toby: Nothing. We Glory Star jerks are supposed to be inferior to full-fledged Titans, right? You don't have to listen to my loud mouth, bastard.

Denzel: If you two want to watch naked people, then how about me, huh? I can remove my clothes right here if you want.
Kacricon: Urk. I have no time for this stupidity. We won't forget this.
Jerid: I'll make Setsuko wear a bunnysuit the next time! If you're lucky.
Toby: What jerks! Picking on others, typical Titans.
Emma: Ahem! Not all Titans are like that. I am sure most aren't. Are you okay, Setsuko? Did they do anything to you?
    Setsuko: No, I'm fine...

    Suddenly, alarm!

Emma: Someone's attacking! We're launching the Gundams, you three wait in backup!
Jerid: Yeah, like if we'd ever need support from the Glory Stars...

Toby: Balgora 2 all green. I'm good to go any time.
Denzel: Same here. How about Balgora unit 3?
Setsuko: There are pins all over the seat, and the pilot helmet is full of chewing gum on the inside...
Toby: Balgoras don't have pilot helmets!
Setsuko: Yes... I kinda realized that.
Denzel: Must be the Titans again. Listen, Setsuko. You can't just let them steamroll over you. You must stand up to them, tell 'em to f*** off if they do anything nasty.
    Setsuko: F*** off?
Denzel: Yeah. Well... it kinda loses the impact when you're saying it like that. Hey, don't be sad now! We'll be always there for you.
Toby: That's right! If some jerks show up, we'll show 'em who's boss! Believe in us, who believe in yo...
Denzel: Now, that was a cliche line. Okay, we're launching and you clean your unit up and join as as fast as possible. Alright?
    Setsuko: Okay...
Denzel: I'm still your commanding officer, you know.
    Setsuko: Sir! Yes, sir!

After this lengthy introduction, let's finally Start the Mission! Outside the base...
Denzel: I see a few Nemos and two Rick Dias. Must be AEUG.
Toby: The rebels who fight against the government, right? Oh boy... I don't really want to fight them.

Roberto: Alright men. Our mission is to secure the escape route, so destroy all hostiles in sight.

Apolly: As long as the Titans don't send any high-end secret prototypes at us, we should be fine.
Toby: Guys, we are right heeeereee...
Roberto: Crap! I've never seen these things before. Let's hope we'll buy enough time for Lt Quattro to hijack the Gundam mk II prototypes.

That's right! For the time being, WE are the bad guys. Or at least serving along with them, whatever. Our forces so far: Balgora units 1 and 2. They are Reals, very lightly armored but good at dodging. Their equipment is almost identical, except for the final attack which is different for each unit. Setsuko's Balgora 3 will be, unsurprisingly, similar.
Toby's sole Spirit Skill is Sense (100% accuracy until next round like Strike, and also automatically evades the next hit), while Denzel has three: Strike and Invincible familiar to us thanks to Rand and Garrod, and Trust (restores 2500 HP to a target friendly unit). His Trust costs only 10 SP. That's very good.
But we can't do anything so far other than advancing forward, so let's do that. Note: the Skill Point condition is unknown at the moment.

During enemy turn, AEUG's Nemos get into range.

Toby: Gaah! They're ganging up on me! Take that - be the butt of my joke!
Setsuko: I'm here now! Did I miss anything? That sounded like a bad Toby pun.

Toby is a melee specialist, so his unit's Help Strike is a good attack for him. Denzel and Setsuko are more suited for ranged combat, Stray Turret will deal more damage when used by any of the two. That's despite both attacks having a base damage rating of 3000 - which is not too shabby, especially for a Real. Also note that the melee attack is shorted ranged, but post-movement: a unit can move and still use it, unlike the ranged one where it has to stand still.

Toby's Balgora is hurting, so let's patch it up and get offensive.

Setsuko: I don't like this but... I won't let you hurt my friends!
AEUG pilot: What a cliche line! Argh, why is my unit exploding!
Toby: Nicely done! I'll stand right by you just in case, thus moving away from Denzel's zone of command! I sure am working on hormones rather than brains today!
(Command provides an accuracy and dodging bonus for all units in range. It's a pilot ability)
Denzel: Firing on the Rick Dias. Come on guyz, reeeedi gooo!
    Roberto: Dammit! Out of range.

End of turn - the enemy phase brings us unpleasant surprises.
AEUG pilot: I'll lead the offensive!
    Denzel: Go, Glory Star, Go!
AEUG pilot: Argh! Remember me as the guy who was suicidal AND stupid!
    But then...
Apolly: Firing my vulcan. Take that, Titan!
Denzel: Gaah! Machinegun bullets in my camera, getting static on visual... and I just missed terribly!
Toby: That's not how you do it, Chief! Yahoo! Dodged, and now... a miss too? How can that be!

Some attacks cause afflictions, and that's what nailed Denzel - most small-caliber machineguns disrupt accuracy by damaging sensors and whatnot. As for Toby... well, bad luck I guess.

Denzel: Okay, we'll do it like this. I'm attacking first, Setsuko will support me. Then you'll finish him off!
Setsuko: Glory Star 3, got it!
    Apolly: Crap! Gotta bail out!

Yes, Setsuko was level 1. Not that impressive compared to Denzel and Toby, who are 5 each. Don't worry though, she gets awesome later.

Toby: One boogie left. I'll show you a neat trick. Barley Size!
Roberto: Gyaaaargh! ... Wait a second, I can't die here. Evacuating!

    And then!

Quattro: Apolly, Roberto. I got us a Gundam. Also freed some kid the Titans held in a cell. Roberto? Apolly? Anyone? ... Crap.
Denzel: Hey, they stole the Gundam mk II!
Setsuko: Wait, does it mean the Titans got beaten?
Quattro: No good. Even with the Gundam, they have superior numbers. We must retreat now.

Kamille: More Titan scum? I'll kick asses of every single one of you!
Quattro: *sigh* I doubt they'd just let us run away like this anyway. Okay, let's get them. Focus.

And that's what Quattro just did - used the Focus spirit skill (+30% dodge AND accuracy rating until next turn - Setsuko knows this too), and will continue to do so in every subsequent round. That makes him a hard target, despite using a pretty mediocre Rick Dias. The Skill Point condition becomes known now: shoot down either Quattro or Kamille, although both retreat if their HP is reduced under 4000. Quattro is a hard target, being Char very skilled, so let's go with the angry kid.

Not that I have anything to say for the moment, because enemies act first.
Toby: You know, we're not technically the Titans.
Kamille: But you're working with them! No good people would do that with clear conscience!
    Toby: Barley Size! Ker-snack!
Kamille: Arrgh! Too distracted by raging to fight!

Now, it's my turn - time to finish this. The problem is to deal ~5000 damage in one attack. None of my units can hit that hard yet, so we'll go with an attack supported by Setsuko. Denzel reached enough morale (which you gain, and also lose, via battle events - hitting or missing the enemy, dodging or being hit back, shooting down units, etc) to use his strongest attack, but it's an ALL one: it hits all units in a squad, which doesn't matter for now because squads appear only in a few missions, BUT it cannot be supported. So let's go with Toby. Casting all Seishin that will buff accuracy...

And go! First, I'm attacking Quattro with Denzel. I'm not hoping to hit, just showing off his Ray Stray Turret.

Quattro: Outside my range... you know your tactics well. How you holding up, Kamille?
Kamille: Do you want to die, that you stand in front of me... aaaaaah!
    Quattro: Damn. You okay?
Kamille: I'm still alright, but retreating for now!
Setsuko: I cannot let you do that! *grabs*
    Kamille: *swords*
Toby, Denzel: Setsuko! Leave her alone!
Kamille: Why would you reduce your life to serving the Titans?! Take this!
    Denzel: Gaaah!
    Setsuko: Noooo!

    And then, everything exploded. Literally.

    Quattro: What the hell.

End of chapter! The intermission screen shows that our people are still alive, at least. But what exactly happened there?

Next chapter: Is it our Destiny to meet with SEED-y people?

That was cool, but having two missions in one post made it very long, especially with all those videos. I suggest keeping one mission per post in further updates.

Also, Rand's route was more awesome so far, at least music-wise (have you heard any tracks that didn't kick major ass?), but as far as Setsuko's route goes, just wait. Oh, just wait...

"Ware koso wa Baran Doban" and "Land Crasher" indeed sound very similar - not the same, but similar enough to suspect that it's a deliberate homage. Especially since Rand's mentor (who made Gunleon) kinda looks like Baran Doban.

I'll split the Rand and Setsuko route scenarios rather than putting them into one post, if readers believe I should do that. So, what's everyone's opinion? I'm okay either way, just to be clear.

And yes, Setsuko does start less impressive than Rand - but it does change, oh yes it does. I like The Right Stuff as a theme though.

    This is kind of relevant:

The theme to Overman King Gainer is apparently sung by Yoshiki Fukuyama. How did I miss this?
Dancing the monkey was suddenly promoted from "lol, adorable" to "**** YEAH AWESOME!"

Also, I'm kind of seeing Garrod and his X Gundam becoming the Z equivalent of Heero and his Wing Zero Custom in Alpha. They both seem to pack quite a punch, I look forward to seeing if Garrod grows up to dominate the battlefield in the same way that Heero did in Alpha Gaiden and Alpha 3.

That's right. King Gainer - listen to his song!

As for Gundam X, it's a strong unit. Good on single, tough bosses but not so much on several weaker ones. I'd say more, but spoilers.

Stray Turret? Surely you mean Starlight Breaker. Though admittedly that is clearer when shooting at flying enemies and especially later after spoilers happen.

Jerid also seems kinda, you know, stupid. It just doesn't work as well to mock a girl for having a girl's name as it does to mock a rather androgynous, male asperberger's victim. But it's Jerid, what'd you expect?

And Gundam X is far from the best Gundam in the game, Conjob. There are at least two that are very clearly better, Turn A and Nu. Actually, the Nu is a rather good candidate for best all-purpose robot in the game, though part of that is due to Amuro being not only a ridiculously awesome pilot, but also perfect for the unit.

It would be much easier to follow things if you added the "translation" to the Youtube videos as annotations.

I heard something about each of the Balgora prototypes being optimised for a different kind of combat (melee, mid-range, long-range), with the idea of creating a mass-produced Balgora as a general purpose mobile suit with features based on all three.

    @Terra:
Well, Kamille doesn't exist in this game until he actually gets to pilot the Gundam he mugged off Jerid. So we must have Jerid be an ass to someone, right?

    @Prime32:
Yeah, I could probably add in annotations. It would be troublesome if I were to modify 15 videos that way, but since the future updates will have less videos, I may as well do that. But then, I could just as well make an all-video LP altogether, and I do not want to rip off Oslecamo's Let's Play completely.

As for the Balgora units, both Setsuko and Toby have close-range finishing strikes so that doesn't really fit the description. It's also an ill fit in the former's case, because Setsuko is a better gunner than melee fighter.

I don't really feel in-video captions are necessary. I can follow the general flow of conversation.

Also, I have such a raging man-crush for Rand. He lugs around a big wrench he only uses for tough enemies, and he uses bulldozer treads to move around because running just isn't cool enough.

If Jerid really wanted to see Setsuko fail, he should have romanced her properly. Kamille would have actually finished her off that way.

Anyway, was reading this in a hurry so I didn't get to watch the videos, but even just the text was pretty clever and easy to follow (and I already know how awesome Z looks). Good going so far, more after work.

I think Cubey got the right vibe. Not only does both songs have the same singer, as Conjob claims, but it has similar tunes within the song and the same vibe.

But this opens a can of conspiracy, particularly regarding OG 3 (if Banpresto stops being lazy enough to leave it; they haven't even gone with the Alpha 2 and 3 series as a whole!). Will Rand be considered a Balmarian, and the personal mechanic to Baran Doban? Or will he be considered an Earthling, and Baran Doban will probably be a humanoid mindraepd turned into a Balmarian soldier while his former apprentice Rand follows him to space?

What's most important: isn't it weird that Baran Doban already has a homage while Sanger hasn't had one, as far as I know? At least, a canon homage... Erm, you get the idea.

Regular Nu or Hi-Nu? Recall that the Nu Gundam can be improved to be even stronger in some games.

Wait, what? So the Balgora may become the prototype for the next-generation successor to the Lion and the Huckebein? The fabled successor to the Gespenst? That...would be truly interesting.

I don't think the Nu gets an upgrade in Z, but if it does get upgraded to Hi-Nu, it's a flat replacement that you have no say in.
