Daelkyr Half-Blood [3.5]

I just had a chance to glance at my Magics of Eberron book and rediscovered Daelkyr Half-Blood. However, on these, and many other, forums, I never see them. I think they could have some serious power if used right.

Minus aberrant shapechange cheese, do they have other uses?

I'm sure someone could come up with something, but the sad truth is they get no support. No special feats or racial sub levels, no way to enhance weapon-like symbionts (Unless you count them as weapons or natural attacks, I mean. I'm unclear on that part.), not even level or gp value for every symbiont.

I love the half-bloods, and want to update them to v.4.0, but I feel like they're half-finished.
